How to install an autonomous sewer system with your own hands. Do-it-yourself autonomous sewer system: step by step we arrange a sewer system for a private house. Autonomous sewerage: device and principle of operation

The dream of any summer resident is a smoothly functioning sewer system. To save money, many try to equip the sewer system with their own hands, building a storage well from improvised materials. In this case, the choice is small - a simpler one, or a multi-chamber septic tank with the ability to filter liquid into the ground.

Morally obsolete cesspools require increased attention during maintenance - the storage tank is often overfilled. In such cases, you need to call a vacuum cleaner or clean the pit yourself. It’s difficult to call this work pleasant.

A characteristic smell curling around sewer drain and the need for regular cleaning make traditional sewers obsolete structures requiring urgent modernization.

Purpose of septic tanks

Transitional option between cesspool and a modern station biological treatment is already mentioned, built taking into account all technical and sanitary standards.

His direct assignment– settling of liquid with its subsequent filtration into the soil. A septic tank protects the environment from substances hazardous to human health. Having gone through the process of settling, followed by rotting, clarification of wastewater and filtration of liquid into the ground, sewage waste becomes safe.

Of course, such processing cannot be called 100% effective. If they drain into the sewer aggressive chemical substances – , medications, alcohol, alkalis, it is almost impossible to get rid of them. In such cases, experts recommend installing a volumetric sealed septic tank and regularly pumping out its contents, preventing soil contamination. In other cases, it is possible to install a structure with a filter chamber that does not require regular pumping.

Device and materials

A homemade septic tank should consist of two, or preferably three, tanks connected to each other using pipes into a single structure based on the principle of communicating vessels.

The first tank is intended for receiving waste water and preliminary settling. The volume of this compartment is half of the total capacity of the entire structure. After filling the reservoir, the liquid flows freely into the second chamber, in which sedimentation also occurs - heavy organic fractions settle to the bottom and undergo rotting without oxygen, and the liquid gradually becomes clearer.

The third tank is for filtration. Its bottom is perforated. Approximately a third or more of the compartment is filled with any filter material. For example, broken red brick or crushed stone. An additional sand cushion up to 0.5 meters thick is placed under the reservoir, ensuring reliable purification of water before it seeps into the ground. Also, water from the third tank can be diverted to additional filtration fields or drained into.

The sludge that has settled at the bottom of the settling tanks must be pumped out once or twice a year to ensure proper operation of the sewage system.

To build such a treatment plant, craftsmen use a variety of building materials and containers:

  • Bricks. The clinker type of this building material is used. Construction requires certain skills in working with masonry. The outside is additionally waterproofed with special mastic and backfilled with clay. The inside of the well must be covered with cement mortar.
  • Concrete. The bottom is poured, followed by the construction of formwork and construction concrete walls. The structure is strengthened during the pouring stage using iron fittings. The finished structure is treated with sealant.
  • Concrete rings - a lightweight option concrete structure. Typically, no more than four rings are used so that the septic tank does not sag under its own weight during operation. For work it is necessary to involve special equipment or use a winch. The seams between the rings are carefully concreted and processed bitumen mastic to ensure waterproofing.
  • Plastic or metal containers are sufficient budget material. Especially if used barrels are used. The disadvantages of metal include its susceptibility to corrosion processes, which cannot be said about plastic. Plastic barrels or Eurocubes are resistant to humidity and any aggressive environment, and tolerate low temperatures and soil pressure.

When choosing a building material, you must consider:

  • features of sewerage use (quality of incoming water);
  • depth groundwater- with their high location It is prohibited to use filter wells;
  • quality of building material;
  • your construction skills and financial capabilities (for example, not everyone knows how to do masonry on their own, and working with concrete rings will require the presence of special equipment).

Device diagram

When placing sewerage on a site, first of all, its distance from residential buildings, roads, public reservoirs, and personal sources is taken into account. drinking water. Basic sanitary and technical standards are prescribed in a special document - SNIP.

According to these requirements, septic tanks must be placed:

  • no closer than 50 meters from a well or borehole;
  • 10 meters from rivers and 30 meters from reservoirs;
  • 5 meters from houses and roads;
  • a meter from the boundaries of the site and 3 meters from fruit trees.
The depth of groundwater must be taken into account! Filtration cannot be carried out when it lies high to the soil surface.

The bottom of the prepared pit is lined with a sand cushion (20-30 cm). Up to 50 cm of sand is poured at the location of the filter well. Gravel or crushed stone is laid on the sand, and then the concrete floor is poured. The septic tank structure is installed on this reliable foundation. It is recommended to additionally secure plastic containers to prevent them from floating and being squeezed out of the ground.

Wells or containers are connected in series with each other using plastic pipes. Their installation is carried out using tees and sealant. Septic tank hatches are insulated, and settling tanks are equipped ventilation risers. Ventilation is especially important if special sewerage systems that are sensitive to oxygen supply will be used.

How to make a septic tank with your own hands

As a DIY design, you can consider concrete septic tank.

Materials

To carry out the work you will need the following tools and building materials:

  • sand and cement;
  • boards for formwork;
  • reinforcement to strengthen the structure;
  • concrete mixer or container for mixing the solution;
  • shovels and buckets for earthworks;
  • drill.

The working process

Work order:

  1. The pit is dug taking into account all sanitary standards - at the required distance from residential buildings and other objects located on the territory. It is believed that it needs to be deepened to a sand layer or crushed stone. These soil layers will ensure proper filtration of the liquid.
  2. Formwork is installed from boards around the perimeter of the pit. Using a drill, holes are made in it, which will later be used for drainage (installation of trimmings). plastic pipes).
  3. Then jumpers are installed (in them drainage holes no need to do this!) with blanks in the form of holes for overflow pipes.
  4. Sewer and overflow pipes are installed into the finished wooden structure.
  5. At the next stage, pouring is performed (two parts of crushed stone and sand are taken for one part of cement). Used for reinforcement metal corner, fittings, rods.
  6. The formwork is dismantled after the concrete has completely dried. Partitions inside the septic tank (between compartments) can be made of old brick.
  7. The entire structure is treated from the inside with sealant for additional waterproofing.
  8. The top floor is made of concrete. Reinforcement is used for reinforcement. Holes are left in the ceiling for ventilation risers made of asbestos cement or polyvinyl chloride. A technical hatch is also installed to remove sludge.

Important points

At construction work Please note that technical errors can lead to incorrect operation of the entire sewer system.

To avoid trouble, you must:

  • ensure a sufficient slope of the sewer drain towards the septic tank;
  • avoid sharp turns of pipes to protect the system from clogging;
  • arrange the slope of the overflow pipes between the compartments of the septic tank (the inlet pipe should be located higher than the outlet!);
  • do not build filter wells when high level groundwater is unsafe for environment, cottage residents and neighbors.

Selection of bacteria

To make the septic tank more efficient, it is recommended to use bacteria. Two types of bacteria are suitable for processing sewage: aerobic (oxygen-dependent) and anaerobic (putrefactive). Anaerobic bacteria live in any conditions, but aerobic bacteria are extremely sensitive to oxygen. To ensure their vital functions, the septic tank must be equipped or at least with ventilation pipes.

When choosing bacteria, it is necessary to take into account that they come in several types:

  • universal, suitable for any conditions and purposes;
  • living in drains with high fat content and household chemicals;
  • used to preserve sewage systems for the winter;
  • used to start a septic tank in the spring.

You also need to read customer reviews, instructions and product range, and make a choice in favor of a reliable brand.

Such equipment plays a very important role in the waste processing complex.

How much does a septic tank cost?

It is impossible to answer this question unequivocally. Everything will depend on what materials were used during the construction process.

For example, a concrete ring can be purchased at a price of 1,200 rubles. A Eurocube will cost 2,500-3,000 rubles per cubic meter of volume. Calling in special equipment also significantly increases the cost of a homemade septic tank. One hour of operation of a truck crane in the Moscow region costs from 900 rubles. And the excavation of one cubic meter of soil with an excavator starts from 10,000 rubles.

Many owners of country real estate are interested in the question of how to install an autonomous sewer system with their own hands, without the help of specialists. In order for the septic tank to function normally, a certain temperature of the environment of the septic tank itself is required, this is approximately 50C. At this temperature, the waste decomposition process occurs in just two weeks, and at a lower temperature of 20C, the waste decomposes more slowly, so in this case it may take several months for decomposition.

It's good if country house hot water supply is used, because the drains will be very warm and, among other things, during the reactions occurring in the second chamber, it releases the heat necessary to achieve the decomposition process. Therefore, in order to preserve “useful” heat, it is necessary to carefully insulate the septic tank.

So, let's assume that your house does not have a bathtub and you have to limit yourself to just a shower. Let's try to calculate the volume of the septic tank.

  1. In this case, water consumption per person will be almost 100 liters per day.
  2. Therefore, for an average family of three people, the daily water consumption will be 300 liters.
  3. And in two weeks approximately 4500 liters will come out.
  4. Based on these simple calculations, we will draw the appropriate conclusion. For a family of 3 people, you will need three chambers with a volume of 4500 liters.

Advice. The septic tank must have three chambers. One chamber will be used for rotting, without access to oxygen, the second (chamber with aeration) will be suitable for ensuring the process of fermentation and oxidation of soap, and in the third the accumulating purified water will settle.

Why not buy a septic tank? Why do it yourself?

Autonomous sewage systems for cottages and summer cottages available in retail sales, are designed for relatively low water consumption, so they are not suitable for full autonomous use of sewerage in a country house with an urban level of comfort.

The most important reason why it is simply not possible to find and buy a septic tank with a volume of 14 m3 at an affordable price, and on top of that there is a problem with the delivery of such a large product. And from an economic point of view, it is more profitable to build a septic tank yourself at the site of its installation than to transport it tens or even hundreds of kilometers away.

Location of septic tank, drain. Do-it-yourself sewerage installation.

Let's look at the stages self-made sewer:

  1. It is best if the septic tank, consisting of three barrels with a capacity of 4500 liters, is not buried in the ground, but installed on the surface of the ground itself and insulated, since this type of autonomous sewage system is much cheaper and easier due to the absence of expensive excavation work.
  2. You can purchase ready-made plastic waste containers that suit your volume or make them yourself. If you want to make them yourself, then you will need a “box” of the size you need.
  3. IN in this case, you need three boxes measuring 1 x 2 x 2.5 meters, which can be made from concrete or wooden beam 10 by 10 cm thick. The timber must be fastened very securely, since almost 5 tons of liquid will press on it.
  4. Inner side boxes should be covered with film for ponds and swimming pools, which is better not to glue together from parts, but to purchase immediately in one piece, it is better if the folds remain.
  5. Next, we install an autonomous sewer system; for this, a foundation must be made in advance for the septic tank, for which a concrete platform poured to the size of all three containers may be suitable. You won’t have to dig absolutely anything, you’ll just need to spread geotextiles on the ground at the pouring site, leaving a margin along the entire meter on each side.
  6. After this, it is necessary to scatter sand gravel to the size of the platform 10-15 cm thick and compact it, then tuck the geotextile so that the sand on it does not spill out over the edges. The need for geotextiles is due to the fact that sand gravel cannot in any way mix with the soil.
  7. Formwork should be installed along the entire edge of the platform, after which it is necessary to lay reinforcement over the prepared sand-gravel substrate and fill it with concrete. As a result, you will get an excellent platform lying on a sand-gravel substrate.
  8. After all the above work, we lay sheets of polyurethane foam so that the resulting thickness is 15 cm. Next, you can use reinforced aluminum film “Armofol”, it will be even warmer.
  9. Tanks are installed or built on top of polyurethane foam. If as a result the foam substrate chokes slightly, then it’s okay, the most important thing is that it does not completely crack. It is for this reason that it is worth choosing a more durable material for the substrate, since 14,000 liters of liquid will be pressed on it.
  10. Next, the structure you have received must be covered on all sides with ordinary polystyrene foam; you can additionally put armofol on the inside. Styrofoam should not be placed between barrels.

If you still want to bury your containers in the ground, you will have to do all the same work, only after digging a pit of the appropriate size.

Winter septic tank

It is worth paying great attention to the operation of the septic tank in winter, since a well-insulated septic tank will work well. If you come rarely, then it is necessary to provide heating for the whole, i.e. septic tank, otherwise it will freeze.

Advice. During the construction of the structure, it is necessary to carefully lay out poison inside it for unwanted “rodent guests”. Otherwise, the autonomous sewage system of the septic tank will be completely damaged. Pipes located outdoors should not only be insulated, but a heating cable should be laid underneath them.

Nowadays there are specialized heating cables on sale that connect to home network power supply and are able to automatically maintain the required temperature.

Construction of a homemade septic tank

The autonomous sewage system consists of three tanks.

  • the first is a closed reactor into which no air enters; the second is a reactor with a built-in forced oxygen supply;
  • the third is a sedimentation tank for already purified liquid, suitable for irrigation or disposal into a roadside ditch.

The septic tank tanks of an autonomous or private house, in turn, are not directly connected to each other, so the contents will have to be transferred “manually”, repeating this process once a week, by starting the pumps. Here is the pumping algorithm.

  1. The third barrel is partially emptied during a week of operation, so it is necessary to turn on the pump located in the second tank, from which the water will flow into the third, where it will settle.
  2. Only half of its contents should be left in the second barrel as a so-called starter in order to preserve the bacteria necessary for fermentation.
  3. After this, the pump in the second tank and in the first is turned off to pump half of the contents from the first barrel into the second.
  4. Then we turn off the pump of the first barrel, and after that we turn on the pump in the pit where the waste accumulates.
  5. Finally, the pit is emptied and waste is pumped from it back into the first barrel.

Air is supplied to the second barrel by a supercharger, which is necessary to maintain the fermentation and oxidation process. It is enough to serve it for 1 hour twice a day.

A pipe should be installed on top of the septic tank for natural ventilation, since during rotting and fermentation specific gases are released.

Purchased septic tank

During construction country house sooner or later the question arises about the need to build a sewer system. Since centralized sewerage is present only within the city, the owner of a country property always thinks about building an autonomous system. Of course, you can hire specialists who will carry out all the calculations and install a septic tank, but this will be quite expensive. To save money, everyone can familiarize themselves with how to build an autonomous sewer system with their own hands.

Our article is designed to sort everything out from beginning to end, starting with calculations and ending commissioning works. After reading it, you will have a good idea of the principles and methods of constructing autonomous sewer systems in suburban area. If you have the desire and ability to use tools, you can independently install one of the types of autonomous sewer systems.

Design stage

When a country house is being built, it is most often done according to individual project. Accordingly, there is no standard scheme sewerage devices, and you will have to do the calculations yourself. To do this, you need to know the basic rules for designing sewer systems and their structure. First, they draw a diagram of the internal sewerage system indicating all the plumbing fixtures and the parameters of the pipes between them.

For external sewerage the main parameter is the performance of septic tanks, which depends on the number of people living in the house and the number of plumbing fixtures. In addition, the depth of laying the pipeline and septic tanks into the ground or the degree of their insulation in the case of outdoor installation. These parameters depend on climatic conditions. The main condition here is to maintain a temperature in the septic tank sufficient for the life of bacteria that decompose sewage. The optimal temperature is 50 degrees. The selected type of septic tank depends on the geological structure of the soil layers and the depth of groundwater in the area.

Anyone who is going to design an autonomous sewer system in a country house must understand that it consists of several interconnected parts:

  • The internal sewerage system consists of a certain number of pipes, which are interconnected into a common network through shaped connecting parts. It has a common exit from the house and is connected to the external sewerage system through the so-called check valve, which is designed to prevent water from rising into the house when containers overflow from the outside. Internal sewer networks are sometimes present not only in the house itself, but also in other buildings located on the site. In this case, each of them has its own outlet connected to the septic tank.
  • There are several types of external sewage system: cesspool (suitable for rarely visited places, such as a cottage or bathhouse), storage tank (suitable for small amounts of water), septic tank or biological treatment station (most suitable options for a full-fledged country house with permanent residence).
  • A storm sewer system is installed on poorly drained soils around the house. It can be independent, but sometimes it is integrated into the overall system.

For correct installation, any of these systems must be carefully calculated.

Carrying out the necessary calculations

There is a large amount of initial data on which the parameters of a particular system will depend. Calculations are made for each part of the sewer separately. At the same time, the design of internal sewerage should be done at the stage of creating the overall building design.

Internal networks

In order for the internal sewerage system to operate normally and not fail, it is necessary to carry out its proper calculation in accordance with existing standards:

  • The optimal installation locations for all plumbing fixtures inside the building are determined in full compliance with the standards and existing rules. The type of connection of these devices to the system is also designed.
  • Choose the most suitable way drainage of wastewater from the system. Pressure and gravity internal sewer systems are known. In private homes, the more basic second option is predominantly installed. But, in this case, the correct calculation of the angle of inclination of the pipes is made.
  • The angle of inclination of any sewer pipe depends on its diameter and length. According to the standards, it is prescribed to tilt pipes with a diameter of 50 mm by 3 cm for each linear meter, pipes with a diameter of 100 - 110 mm 2 cm/m.p. More than 160 mm pipes 0.8 cm/m.p.
  • To calculate the required diameter of the sewer pipe, calculate the power of the plumbing fixture to which it is connected.
  • Find the optimal location for installation fan pipes and risers.
    They are necessary to equalize pressure throughout the entire sewer system.

An important condition for designing internal sewerage is the task of reducing the number of corners to a minimum. This is due to the fact that it is in the corners that blockages most often form.

Outdoor devices

When designing an external sewerage system, the environmental requirements for carrying out activities in the area are taken into account. personal plot. For example, the location of a water intake well or well to supply the household is too close drinking water does not make it possible to build septic tanks without multi-stage cleaning. Important has a method of drainage. In rare cases, a centralized drainage system is used, but much more often an autonomous sewer system is used. The volume of storage tanks and their productivity directly depends on the number of people living in the house and the total volume of their water consumption.

The external sewerage system is integral with the internal network of sewer pipes. The connection is made through an outlet pipe, which is buried below the level at which the soil stops hardening. If this is impossible or impractical, you need to consider a method for insulating and heating this section of the pipe.

The rules for placing a container for sewage disposal are as follows:

  • An ordinary unprotected cesspool should be located at least 15 m from the foundation of the house.
  • Overflow well with an open second tank - 12 m.
  • Septic tanks of any type - 5 m.
  • Modern high-tech biological treatment stations - 3 m.

If the tank is located at a sufficiently large distance from the house, then regardless of its depth, the drain pipe must be insulated thermal insulation materials. It is also possible to use an electric heating cord.

Construction phase

The construction of the entire sewer system is carried out in several stages, which alternate with a certain sequence. During the design, a diagram of all communications must be drawn up, indicating the length of the pipes and their diameters. The riser and pipes that horizontally exit the house into the external sewer are made of plastic pipes with a diameter of 100 - 110 mm. All other connections are made from 50 mm pipes. The diameter of the background pipe is equal to the diameter of the riser. It could actually be a continuation of it. Internal and external sewer systems can be connected corrugated pipe. This gives a greater guarantee of reliability during ground movements. However, her inner surface should be smooth.

Preparatory stage

At this stage, the tools for the work are prepared. For internal systems required:

  • Saw by plastic products, which is called trimming. It is used to cut pipes to required sizes.
  • A sharp knife designed for cutting off various burrs on cuts and forming a chamfer on the cut ends of a pipe.
  • Rubber mounting seal kits.

Installation outdoor system will require: shovels or earth-moving equipment, as well as building materials, such as crushed stone, sand, cement, insulation.

To install a sewerage system, it is not enough to acquire only pipes. You will also need shaped parts for them:

  • Bends that are necessary to form various angles. There are 45 or 90 degree parts. At the ends they have sockets with O-rings for a tighter connection of the pipes with each other.
  • Transition bends are needed to create conventional connections between two pipes of the same diameter.
  • Triple or quadruple fittings are designed for organizing pipeline branches.
  • Transition couplings are equipped with transition points between pipes of different diameters.

For ease of installation of pipes, their ends need to be heated in hot water. This will soften the plastic and allow it to be freely mounted into a single network.

The main stage of installation of internal sewerage

First you need to install vertical risers in required quantity. usually they are laid from the base to the roof. The upper part plays the role of a fan ventilation pipe. The location for installing such risers is chosen as close to the toilets as possible. This is due to the fact that they should be located no further than 1 m from the risers. If all the toilets are located in the same vertical projection, and the house itself small area, then it will be enough to install just one riser. It is allowed that the farthest device is separated from it by a maximum of 5 m.

All underwater pipes are connected to the riser. First, the pipes from the toilets are connected. They must be located lower than the others. Then all other side branches are connected. It is permissible to install several different plumbing fixtures on one supply. However, the thickness of the supply pipe must be taken in accordance with their overall performance. Connecting all plumbing fixtures using siphons is the most the final stage installation of an internal sewer system.

Installation of external sewerage

Let's consider the option of installing an external septic tank of three containers:

  • To make a full-fledged septic tank, you will need three metal or plastic containers, each with a capacity of 1.5 m3. This will be enough to ensure the recycling of wastewater from a household in which 4 people permanently live. These containers can be purchased, but you can also make them yourself if you have the skills of a welder.
  • Ready-made containers for wastewater must be buried in the ground. For this purpose, you need to dig a pit at least 2.5 m deep and 4 - 5 m long and place containers there. All of them must be connected to each other by pipes in the upper part. The last container should not be sealed. It would be good if it just had a lattice instead of a bottom. There should also be holes in the walls. This is necessary so that the water from the last container freely goes into the ground for final purification. For this to happen efficiently, a drainage layer of crushed stone and gravel must be installed under the container.

Such a septic tank will function as follows. As soon as the first barrel is filled with water, it will begin to flow into the second barrel. In this case, solid fractions of the wastewater will settle to the bottom. A similar process will begin to occur in the second container. You can also add a substrate with bacteria, which will actively begin to process sewage. As a result, a fairly clean liquid is poured into the third container, which goes into the ground, where it is completely cleaned.

There are other options for installing external sewage systems. In particular, you can purchase ready-made septic tanks or biological treatment plants. Sometimes, with a small volume of wastewater, it is advisable to simply bury a storage tank. It will have to be pumped out from time to time.

In conclusion, I would like to say that it is not enough to build a sewer system correctly, it must also be operated competently. If the septic tank is designed to receive wastewater from 4 people, then under no circumstances can 10 people live in the house for a long time and use all the plumbing fixtures. This will certainly lead to an emergency sooner or later.

It is now impossible to imagine country houses without a sewage system. Sewage drainage can be carried out in a primitive way, but it is better to take care of proper living conditions and arrange an autonomous sewer system. Such a withdrawal scheme Wastewater will be comfortable for residents and will not harm the environment.

General information

The most primitive version of an autonomous sewage system is a cesspool with a pipeline connected to it. But this is essentially just wastewater collection. The version with a septic tank looks more complete. A real autonomous sewage system is structurally much more complex and consists of:

  • pipelines of internal and external sewerage;
  • treatment equipment and wastewater drainage.

Autonomous sewerage with your own hands must be arranged according to all the rules - with the availability project documentation, in which the requirements of sanitary standards must be fully met.

Wastewater treatment methods

If you adhere to the generally accepted rules and regulations for installing an autonomous sewer system at home on a suburban area, you can apply different ways and wastewater treatment combinations. There are different stages and types of cleaning, which can be divided into:

  • mechanical,
  • chemical,
  • biological.

With the help of mechanical cleaning, solid fractions that are part of sewage are removed from wastewater. The passage of this process is based on the difference in density of certain impurities and water. Heavier fragments in special tanks undergo a settling process and precipitate over time. Mechanically treated wastewater enters the drainage system through the overflow or is pumped out by a sewage disposal machine.

Note! After such containers, the degree of wastewater purification is quite low. Therefore, wells for mechanical cleaning are first-level structures.

Autonomous sewage systems of the latest generation for a country house purify wastewater with chemical or biological method. After the liquid passes through such wastewater treatment plants the degree of decomposition of contaminants reaches high results. As a result, wastewater reaches up to 98% purification, after which it is discharged into a ravine or reservoir. It should be noted that these two options are based on fundamentally different cleaning mechanisms.

The chemical cleaning method involves the use of reagents that help remove suspended solids based on chemical reactions. Chemical reagents must be used with extreme caution. If you exceed the concentration of the active substance, you can harm the sewage system.

Modern treatment plants often use biological treatment, the work of which is based on the results of the vital activity of special bacteria. The breeding ground for these microorganisms is sewage. As a result of their action, wastewater reaches a high degree of purification. Bacteria by nature are divided into:

  • aerobic, which require oxygen to function;
  • anaerobic, which do not require oxygen to exist.

These types of bacteria can work selectively or alternately. When using aerobic microorganisms in an autonomous sewer system, it is necessary to install aerators that will supply air to the septic tank.

Drainage

To get rid of untreated or partially clarified wastewater at the dacha, a sewage disposal truck is periodically called, which comes, pumps out sewage from the drain tank and takes it to a specially designated place. This scheme for getting rid of wastewater is used in the primitive design of an autonomous sewer system. Often this system is installed due to the nature of the soil, which is characterized by low throughput. If, for example, the soil is clayey, then it is quite difficult to arrange drainage that would fully cope with its tasks. At a higher level there is a sewerage system full cycle, in which one of the links is the drainage system. One of simple ways filtering the wastewater and allowing purified water to seep into the soil can be called an option with a drainage well. Its installation when installing an autonomous sewer system can occur:

  • from the classics concrete rings;
  • made of concrete in a monolithic manner;
  • made of fired bricks, with mandatory waterproofing of the well.

The bottom of the well is covered with filtration material, which can be gravel or crushed stone. Filtered water seeps through the filter into the ground. If the soil layers with the characteristics necessary for receiving purified water are deeper than we would like, then special throughput wells are drilled. They must reach a certain depth and be equipped with perforated pipes.

Better filtration occurs in the presence of drainage fields. Structurally, they consist of a network of perforated pipelines that are buried in the ground, capable of receiving water. It is better to choose plastic pipes, as they do not corrode. To improve the quality of drainage, such pipes should be located in a layer of gravel or crushed stone and be covered on all sides with geotextiles. This material does not allow the soil to reduce the filtering qualities of the backfill. If the soils in the suburban area near the house are clayey and lie to great depths, then they need to be replaced with more porous soil. In this case, the depth of the pit should be 0.7 m below the laying of perforated pipes. The area of land allocated for laying pipes should become a continuous drainage field.

Note! The drainage field must be equipped ventilation system, which must simultaneously supply Fresh air and remove the resulting dangerous gases.

This is what the final stage of arranging the filtration field looks like:

Construction of septic tanks

The main link of an autonomous sewage system is a septic tank. This important structure can be either made independently or purchased ready-made.

A septic tank in its own design is made from several wells, which are built from standard construction concrete rings. In order for the containers to work as a single whole, they are equipped with overflows for wastewater, which gradually moves from well to well. These containers are buried in the ground, then reliable waterproofing is carried out, which protects the soil from the ingress of sewage.

A comparatively better option would be to install a factory-made septic tank. The market offers treatment facilities made of carbon fiber, plastic and metal. The latter must be treated with anti-corrosion compounds. If this is not done, the septic tank will not last. for a long time. Plastic structures are made using a method that ensures complete sealing. Factory septic tanks consist of several compartments that are connected to each other alternately. As the wastewater moves forward, it first occurs mechanical cleaning sewage, then biological. To make biological treatment more effective, the structure is equipped with aerators.

In order for an autonomous sewer system to work properly, its installation must be carried out in accordance with all the rules. Wastewater disposal, collection and treatment must be carried out in accordance with project documentation.

Video

In the following video, you will learn the principle of operation of an autonomous sewage system; several tips are also given here, including how to what pipes to choose for sewerage installation:

A well-equipped autonomous sewage system is the most important tool, allowing the owner of a private plot to effectively solve the problems of wastewater disposal and treatment. Only after creation private sewer the house becomes a truly comfortable and comfortable home, fully complying with all current standards.

Thanks to the sewer system, residents have the opportunity to use water without any kind of restrictions: install hydroboxes and bathtubs, washing machines etc.

The installation of a basic autonomous sewage system can be handled without outside help. All work comes down to installing the tank, laying pipes and ensuring the correct functioning of the created complex.

Requirements for autonomous sewerage

Before embarking on activities to arrange an autonomous sewage system, you need to study the relevant information and draw conclusions regarding the effectiveness of one or another type of existing systems.

Practical experience allowed us to sufficiently analyze the available data and draw a number of important conclusions regarding what a truly effective and high-quality autonomous

In order for the system to fully cope with all the tasks assigned to it, it must meet the following requirements:

Thus, there are quite a lot of different requirements for modern autonomous sewage systems. However, in practice everything turns out to be much simpler than in theory.

The finished sewer system, equipped taking into account all the recommendations, will serve without any complaints for the longest possible time. At the same time, the system will comply with current sanitary and hygienic standards, which will save the owner from unpleasant proceedings with the relevant authorities.

How does an autonomous sewer system work?

Modern sewer systems are compact, extremely convenient, practical and easy to install, as well as environmentally friendly. The most popular systems are those that combine the functions of cleaning and supplying oxygen to working containers.

Similar sewers are created using materials highest quality. Typically the main material is polypropylene. It is characterized by excellent strength, environmental friendliness, thermal conductivity and is lightweight.

On modern market There is a wide range of different biological wastewater treatment stations available. Moreover, they all function according to approximately the same mechanism. Certain wastewater treatment plants are responsible for using organic waste as an energy source. For full life activity, such bacteria also need oxygen.

The wastewater treatment system operates according to an extremely simple scheme. At the first stage, the wastewater is artificially saturated with air necessary for life and bacteria. In the process of their development, bacteria eat and mineralize organic matter that is part of sewage water.

Such bio-stations are characterized by a very high rate of wastewater treatment. As a result, purified water can be used for irrigation without any fear garden plants or drain it to a suitable place.

An additional advantage of an autonomous sewer system is that there is no need to make complex determinations of the optimal dimensions of the chamber and the expected volume of wastewater.

Information about the design capacity of the station is given in its name. For example, one of the most famous wastewater treatment systems, Astra Sewerage 5, can handle the treatment of wastewater generated by five users. And a high-performance station called Topaz 150 will be able to serve a country house or cottage village for 150 inhabitants.

In order for an autonomous sewer system to fully cope with all the tasks assigned to it, the installation of its main elements must be carried out in accordance with a number of requirements, namely:

Guide to installing an autonomous sewer system

First step

Select a location to install the septic tank. Minimum permissible distance from the septic tank to residential buildings and roads - 5 m, up to garden trees– 3 m, to the water source – 50 m.

Second step

Proceed with excavation work. The dimensions of the pit for installation must exceed the dimensions of the container itself by 30 cm on each side.

The technology allows the installation of a septic tank and a biofilter in a common pit.

Dig a trench for laying external pipes with a 2-centimeter slope for every 100 cm of pipeline length.

Third step

Compact the bottom of the pit and fill it with concrete. Install plastic container to a frozen concrete platform. Additionally, secure the septic tank to concrete base using cables.

Fourth step

Build a sewer system. Connect the pipes according to your diagram. At the same stage, fill the biofilter blocks with expanded clay and bioactive absorbent.

Fifth step

Backfill with earth and sand or a cement-sand mixture in layers. Compact each layer of backfill thoroughly. At the same time, fill the septic tank with water to a level slightly higher than the level of the filled material.

The pipes are covered first with sand and then with soil. There is no need to compact the backfill.

Connect the pipes in the house in accordance with the conditions of your situation. At this moment everything is individual.
