Loft for a small apartment. Loft-style studio apartment: design ideas, choice of finishes, furniture, lighting. What materials to use

As you know, the loft style came to us from America, where it began its formation during the Great Depression. A huge number of closed plants and factories began to be converted into residential premises in every possible way. Hence the basic principles of the loft style - large space, a minimum of specially treated surfaces, heavy beams under the ceiling, open pipes, windows without decoration.

Since the 30s of the twentieth century, there has been a fairly global transformation of the loft style, which has made it possible to use it in almost any room. Be it a private house, country house, a cafe, a small apartment or even a separate room, although sometimes this is not easy.

From the original loft style to modern design the desire for simplicity and space has been preserved. Therefore, if you want to decorate the interior of a small apartment in the loft style, you should use several techniques:

1. Presence of bare brick. Although we all understand that for comfortable life Brick walls are not very suitable; it is still worth including them in the design of even a small apartment. To avoid scratching on brick, use it in places where access to the wall is minimal. For example, kitchen apron, Wall panel behind the TV.
2. Minimum wall treatment. Or simulating no processing. It will help you with this textured plaster, which can create any effect - wear, age, even the effect of concrete.

3. Open windows. The loft style excludes any heavy curtains or massive fabrics. Maximum – transparent white tulle. If the windows need to be closed from the sun or, conversely, in the dark, you can use roller blinds.
4. Presence of natural wood. Almost any detail in a small loft-style apartment can be made from wood. It could be flooring, interior doors, tabletops, lamps.

5. Directional light. You can provide the apartment with spotlights or big chandelier, which will cover the entire space, but to maintain the loft style, lamps are needed that will go down almost to eye level and illuminate a small area of the apartment in a rather intimate way. As a rule, this is a kitchen table or bar counter.

To enhance the loft style in a small apartment, you can run beams along the ceiling that imitate the ceiling for the roof. Wood can be painted with regular stain to preserve its structure. Rosewood color works well. You can hang a chandelier to match the ceiling beams.

By the way, you can make a chandelier in the loft style even at home. To do this, you will need ordinary incandescent light bulbs, which are attached to the wooden block. The block itself is fixed to the ceiling on steel chains. The fact that the wires will be visible will only enhance the desired effect! By the way, old metal pots and colanders can be used as shades for your chandelier.

Furniture in a small apartment in loft style.

When choosing furniture, you have many options. Loft style does not exclude soft sofas and armchairs. You just have to pay special attention to the upholstery - it can be leather of any shade, dark fabric. Avoid drawings and patterns on furniture, unless they are strict monochrome patterns.

Chairs, coffee table, chests of drawers can be made of wood, metal and plastic.
Furniture made from pallets has now become especially popular. IN loft style It fits perfectly and is also easy to make. To get a stylish shelving unit or coffee table, you only need the pallets themselves, a screwdriver and self-tapping screws.

You can paint homemade furniture in any color, although multi-colored furniture that combines five or more harmonizing shades is now very effective. To avoid getting lost in choosing a color, use the color wheel.

To make a loft-style apartment cozy and comfortable, you can lay low-pile carpets in muted shades on the floor.

Kitchen in a small apartment. Loft style.

Since the loft style requires maximum free space, experts advise combining the kitchen and living room in small apartments. When you combine, you win on several points at once:

1. Get more free space.
2. It’s easier to recreate the loft style in the kitchen, since stone and metal look great on it. And if the kitchen is combined with the living room, then in the room itself it will be much easier to emphasize the existing style direction.
3. The combined living room has more windows, and this is important for the loft style, especially in small rooms.

The tabletop can be stone or wood, especially if it is solid and massive. Suitable for kitchen facades stainless steel, natural wood. Plastic will be discordant with the Loft style. Long lengths can complement the style of the kitchen open shelves solid wood, hanging cabinets. All accessories - rails, hooks, switches, chair legs, facade handles - are also best selected from stainless steel.

The hood can become a real art object in a loft-style kitchen if you don’t hide its pipe, but even highlight it.

And finally, I would like to add that loft-style design for a small apartment is a very bold and slightly aggressive decision. Therefore, it is acceptable to include other styles. You can freshen up the space indoor plants, bright pillows, carpets.

The loft style, which originated in the USA at the beginning of the twentieth century, remains popular today thanks to its non-standard and original features, interiors with a touch of democracy, brutality and secular gloss at the same time. Interior design in the loft style can safely be called modern and fashionable, despite the fact that a whole century has passed since its appearance. During this time, loft design has undergone various modifications, but the main message is the desire for open spaces, industrial style, – remained the same. In modern typical apartment with regular ceiling heights and small windows, loft style features can be added using in various ways: brickwork, wooden and untreated surfaces, housing redevelopment.

At one time, the loft was extremely popular among creative bohemia: artists, performers, decorators... So that the interior gives good mood, it is not enough to decorate it in light and bright colors. A professional designer will be able to correctly select a color scheme, based on the laws of combinations of colors and shades.

Communications in sight

In the photo: Open communications in the interior

Modern interiors The loft style is characterized by the desire to reproduce the very atmosphere that reigned in the loft spaces of the early 20s of the last century. Open communications, chrome-plated air ducts left “in plain sight” - bright signs style.

Loft and hi-tech

In the photo: Living room interior in loft style

Loft can be combined with other modern styles. In particular, elements of high-tech, constructivism and avant-gardeism fit most organically into the loft style.

Small living room in loft style

The interior of a small loft-style living room will be decorated with a stylish black and white photo or poster. Using wall pictures, you can set the desired mood for the interior: in the case of a photograph, especially in a retro style, the appearance of the room will turn out to be vintage and a little romantic, and a poster will give the interior a more modern and youthful look.

Wooden beams and caissons

Wooden beams and all kinds of ceilings are welcome in the design of a loft-style living room. Coffered ceilings with spotlights, rough brickwork with black and white posters - this living room is ideal for watching modern films.

The kitchen dining area is enlivened by black and white posters that create an outdoor café feel. Thanks to this technique, even small kitchen looks stylish and original.

Floor mirror in the hallway

In the photo: Hallway with a floor mirror in a loft style

A large floor mirror leaning against the wall is a “feature” of the design of a loft-style hallway. It is reminiscent of the times when most items in a loft interior were hand made. “In place” of the mirror there can be panels, posters, paintings and works of art, symbolizing a little “creative disorder”.

Small kitchen with brickwork

In the photo: Interior of a small kitchen with loft style elements

In this small kitchen in a typical apartment, brickwork is played out twice: in the apron area, tiles with imitation masonry are used, on the walls there is a characteristic finish in its “classic” version.

Black and white monochrome & brickwork

In the photo: Loft-style hallway interior from the portfolio

Interiors in which terracotta brickwork is adjacent to black and white monochrome look especially stylish. Black and white tiled floor, minimal furniture, large mirror and walls with brickwork - such an interior for a long time will look stylish and modern.

Children under 5-6 years old will especially enjoy unusual experiments, and turning an ordinary bed into their favorite racing car will delight the child!

In this project, all interior items are designed in a minimalist style - even round clock above the bed, creating a subtle reference to Art Deco. A minimalist wardrobe with a mirrored door visually expands the space.

Vintage and classic

Vintage and classic elements are combined in the bedroom interior with loft features. Loft masonry fits perfectly with the boudoir console table on curved legs.

Concrete walls and plain textiles

In the photo: Loft-style bedroom with concrete walls

Another, less popular technique for creating a loft-style interior is concrete surfaces. “Rough” concrete with traces of formwork looks especially impressive. To create a special loft atmosphere, one or two untreated walls in the interior are enough.

Accent walls and black and white panels

In the photo: Bedroom with loft elements in the apartment

Black and white panels leaning against the wall will create the effect of “creative chaos”, which often reigns in the artist’s studio. Black monochrome walls and wooden panels complement democratic and modern environment bedroom.

Brickwork painted white

In the photo: Bedroom interior with brickwork and posters

An effective technique for decorating a loft-style bedroom would be walls lined with brickwork and painted in White color. The more careless the painting, the better. Small chips, cracks and unpainted areas of the wall are the main “highlight” of such an interior.

Gray-beige color scheme

In the photo: Bedroom in beige and gray tones in a loft style

The natural gray-beige color scheme is especially suitable for loft-style bedroom design, since the brightness of the stylistic direction itself needs to be “muted” a little. Pastel and neutral colors will make a brutal interior with brickwork softer and harmonious.

The portfolio of the Fundament Group of Companies includes many projects in the loft style, and this is no coincidence: this design direction remains at the peak of popularity, experiencing a new birth. Design studio specialists will develop a unique interior design project, taking into account the characteristics of your apartment, and repair and construction teams will carry out high-quality apartment renovations at the highest level.

Luxury, pomp, and abundance of decor in the interior have been replaced by modern styles, which sometimes use unusual techniques and elements as means of expression. It would seem, what kind of comfort can we talk about in a space made of bare brick walls, wires or crossbars? But it’s not for nothing that loft-style apartment design continues to gain popularity, proving its diversity and variability. The projects we have selected are proof of this!

1. Interior of a two-story loft-style apartment

This apartment has two floors and three rooms. I can’t even believe that it is intended for the bachelor life of a bank employee who wants to relax and feel freedom during his off-hours. The classic loft, born on these principles, was ideal for creating the desired atmosphere.

The project, located in the Zapadnoye Kuntsevo residential complex, was carried out by designers from the E-l-ement studio. The area of the apartment is not so large - 84 sq.m., but the ceiling height, which varies from 2.5 to 5 m., allowed the authors to implement several interesting solutions in the interior.

As befits a loft, the layout is open, including a combined living room, kitchen, and dining room. The presence of high ceilings prompted the designers to create a second floor, which helped isolate sleeping area from other areas without losing the feeling of spaciousness. A wooden curved staircase leads to this level.

Brickwork is used as finishing, which is balanced by white panels. The interior looks quite cozy, mainly due to the abundance of wooden elements.

2. Loft-style apartment for a young couple

The owners of this apartment initially knew that a loft style would be perfect for their personal space, only in a special interpretation. Designers from the JuicyHall studio had to listen carefully to the wishes of the young couple. The result is a project with a unique aesthetic, which once again proves the importance of complete trust between the contractor and the customer.

The Moscow apartment has a small area - 45 sq.m., but it turned out that with the right approach and this is quite enough for a comfortable life. Moreover, the original layout was the reason for the implementation unusual idea— integrate the bathroom into the open space of the studio, which is common in the interiors of modern hotels.

At first, the designers proposed to focus on the classic interpretation of the loft, leaving concrete ceilings, as well as aging the brickwork of the walls. But clients insisted on a more decorative approach. As a result, the walls turned out white, and concrete was used to decorate the ceiling. This way the small apartments were filled with air and space, acquiring a neat appearance.

The housing is created on the principle of functionality and includes the following areas: a kitchen, a bedroom separated from it by a wall, a living room, a dressing room, a bathroom, and a hallway. The sofa serves as a partition between the two areas.

During the renovation, minor and sometimes major problems had to be resolved. For example, when they brought kitchen set, it turned out that due to an oversight by the foreman, it simply did not fit the dimensions of the space. But the designers were not at a loss and suggested making brick half-columns by placing an I-beam on them. It turned out even better than planned.

3. Interior design of an apartment in loft style, Moscow

Many people think that a loft is brutality and audacity, but design studio Verdiz, with the help of just one project, showed the variability of solutions while maintaining key features. The interior turned out to be very bright, elegant, even noble, and all this on 50 sq.m.!

For a rational organization small space The bathroom was reduced in size, making it possible to place a large wardrobe with a stunning stained glass facade in the hallway. This is a multifunctional piece of furniture that further separates the hallway from the living area.

The apartment consists of one room, which, thanks to the zoning principle, contains a living room and a bedroom. The kitchen layout has a slightly rounded geometry. Almost all the walls are used here, serving as support for compact furniture.

The unobtrusive interweaving of another style - fusion, which was embodied in bright elements decor that enlivens the whiteness of the brickwork, as well as the grayness of the concrete. At the same time, there was also room for art objects that convey the feeling of modern classics.

4. Apartment design in loft style, Magnitogorsk

The author of the project, Anton Sukharev, claims that this is a rare case when the interior reflects the interests of the owner, embodied in small details. And although the designer had to work with a modest budget, the result looks modern and stylish. It was the loft that helped create the right feeling with limited finances.

Apartment with an area of 72 sq.m. designed according to the openspace principle. The hallway is fenced off from the living room wooden structure, serving as ample storage space. LED strips in silicone boxes are built under a plywood block on the ceiling, where all transformers are also hidden. Decorative partition separates the kitchen and living area without creating obstacles to the free penetration of light.

The brickwork discovered during the renovation was painted white. We also managed to save money on the heating system, which was not changed, since it fit perfectly into the style of the loft. Almost all the furniture is made to order and has its own history: some items were created “bit by bit”, others were purchased profitably at a flea market.

5. Loft-style apartment for a young couple, Tyumen

The interior of this multi-level apartment was designed by designer Ekaterina Skorokhodova, who managed to create a dream home for a creative couple. High ceilings helped add to 90 sq.m. additional space 14 sq.m.

The only obstacle to embodying the loft style was the lack of beautiful, open brickwork, but we managed to imitate it with the help of high-quality decorative tiles. Other walls are painted white, against which paintings and other decorative elements look good. Bright accent- a large Indian panel, the shades of which are determined by color scheme space.

For heating this large area Usually a massive heating system is used, but the designer selected compact metal convectors that became an interior decoration. But the main “attraction” of the apartment is rightfully considered to be the high windows, which open up a beautiful view of the city and let required amount Sveta.

In order to preserve the feeling of spaciousness that the apartment is endowed with, it was decided to go with a functional set. Thus, kitchen cabinets are installed in two rows, the top of which is used for storing non-essential items.

The sliding barn doors in the kitchen area, which were used instead of ordinary ones, look unusual. Behind them is a guest room with a utility room. In general, the interior looks luxurious and even fabulous, conveying the atmosphere of ancient castles.

6. Authentic loft with French charm

The designer of this apartment was the owner himself, Gregory Lesterlen, a businessman from France who spends a lot of time in Russia. Having good taste and solid travel experience, the owner was able to decorate the interior according to his requirements, filling the furnishings of the USSR era with unique items from Paris itself.

The layout of the 69-meter apartment was changed almost completely, destroying everything possible walls. During the renovation, it was discovered that the brickwork, which dates back to the beginning of the 20th century, was in good condition, which prompted Gregory to introduce loft elements.

The apartment has a bedroom, a separate bathroom, a dressing room, an open living room with an office, and a kitchen, which includes an unusual bar counter in a niche. Discovered antiques wooden beams They were not thrown away, but used as decoration for the ceiling.

The result is an atmospheric apartment with history, which the owner has preserved and updated.

7. Apartment design in loft style, 225 m2

In this interior, the designers from MKInterio managed to move away from the usual interpretation of the loft and create a gentle, calm design, fortunately there is plenty of space to implement any ideas.

It was decided to leave the enfilade interior layout: the hallway is followed by a kitchen, followed by a living room, and then private areas with bathrooms. This allows you to diversify the design of the apartment, adding new features to each room.

The kitchen is decorated with plywood structures that stand out against the brickwork with light textures and colors. Metal beams left unchanged, having built a soundproofing system between them.

Decorative green shutters highlight the tall windows. To visually increase the space of the bedroom, long mirrors were placed on one of the walls. Despite the fact that the palette of the apartment is a little muted, the interior looks light and spacious.

8. Three-room apartment in loft style

The customers got an apartment from the 1970s with all the design flaws characteristic of buildings of those years: a small kitchen, a separate bathroom, an impractical corridor. So the designers from the Odnushechka bureau had to solve these problems along with the design.

What remained of the large corridor was a small hallway, and the remaining square meters were “joined” to the living room space. Brickwork under the plaster, necessary for the style, turned out to be unaesthetic, so I had to resort to imitation, using clay tiles as finishing. The loft feeling was enhanced by the introduction of textured furniture, such as a worn leather sofa, metal shelving, objects made of aged wood. sofa and dining area separated by a mirror partition.

The kitchen was left the same size, joined to the common space and equipped with functional furniture. Added to the nursery bright colors, maintaining the loft features with the help of a modular set and a dark wooden floor. Designed according to the same principle master bedroom by adding a painted brick wall.

An example of how to place a bedroom in one room, work area and even find a place for a bicycle. The vehicle was hung on the wall at the head of the bed - and the bicycle simultaneously became an interesting accessory, suitable style rooms.

In order to dilute the red brick, the designer added bright red accents. The desktop also has a “surprise” - spacious drawers will allow you to store not only work documents there. And if desired, he can even transform into .

A slatted partition separates the desk from the bed. It does not create visual load, it serves in a great way zoning.

2 Loft with spacious storage systems

It is very important to think about storing things, and the owners of this small apartment We decided to give the main “load” of storage to the bedroom. A chest of drawers and a wardrobe with veneer fronts “support” the chosen industrial style, and drawers under the bed is one of the best solutions for storage in small spaces. Take note.

3

The owners of this one-room apartment separated the bedroom area from the living room with a glass sliding partition. In order to dilute the red color of the decoration, we chose light furniture and the same textiles. This gave him lightness.

4 Loft-style bedroom with glass closet doors

Mirrors in small rooms help. The owners of this apartment decided to use a well-known technique, but did not use it in a completely standard way - they made part of the cabinet doors mirrored.

Few people like to make mirrored walls opposite the bed, so they decorated the far corner this way. The remaining doors are decorated in the same style as the ceiling, so the closet has become a continuation of it. This is another way to "dissolve" big system storage in a small room without weighing down the interior.

5 Loft with colored walls and sliding partition

In this apartment they used a non-standard technique - they combined the bedroom area and the bathroom, but installed sliding partition With frosted glass. We also used zoning using lighting and color. In the bedroom - ceiling chandelier, and in the bathroom there are built-in spots. Saturated green color The finishing of the wet area goes very well with brown brick.

Please note that such a . You can’t do without a partition for official approval, but you can use a sliding option.

6 Loft with thoughtful zoning

Sometimes just finishing is enough. Just like in this apartment. The living area is decorated in the standard way for a loft - brown brick and wooden floors, but in the dining area they made porcelain tiles with a marble pattern and painted the walls with black paint.

In order to make the interior not boring, successful accents were chosen - a bright painting-poster in the dining room and a colored leather carpet on the living room floor.

7 Scandinavian studio with loft elements

Eclectic interiors today can be found much more often than “pure” style. An example is this one. Accent Brick wall serves for visual zoning of the kitchen and living room, and a classic chandelier, which is often added to the loft style, gives a small studio a touch of chic and luxury. An interesting technique that is worth taking note.

8 Kitchen trailer in loft style

Long kitchens are usually difficult to design functionally and stylishly - there is too little free space. Here the designers decided to “sacrifice” a full-fledged table in order to leave more space for free movement. The role of the table is wide wooden window sill. This great idea for very small kitchens.

9 Small loft-style studio for a man

The loft style is considered by many to be a “masculine” style. And this is explained by its brutality - finishing with brick, “like concrete” or no finishing at all.

The designers decorated this small studio with an area of only 17 square meters in a loft style and managed to place a full kitchen and a living room with a folding sofa there. The bar counter serves as a zoning element.

The historical birthplace of the loft style is the United States of America. From its inception to the present day, it has managed to spread throughout the world, gaining more and more new fans in Chicago, Paris, Moscow, and Sydney.

Features of the design of a small apartment in the loft style

The loft style in a small, as well as in a large, house is subject to the same design laws. The main distinctive style characteristics include: wall decor in the form of brick, stone, rough plaster or cracked concrete, high window openings and the absence of partitions.
The interiors of small lofts cannot be decorated according to all the canons of style. This design has its own characteristics. Most often, it is represented by a fashion studio with a single area, divided into functional zones using furnishings, coloring and texture. Loft design in small apartments where it is impossible to remove the partitions means designing each residential area separately.

Hallway

A small loft-style apartment begins with a hallway, not very spacious and without natural light. Therefore, it is necessary to visually enlarge it as much as possible through wall treatment with light cement or “bark beetle”, followed by painting in a similar tone.
From the furnishings here, you can install a simple bedside table with stylized metal handles or an inconspicuous wardrobe with hidden fittings and smooth fronts. A full-length mirror will also add volume. Best suited for lighting Spotlights and sconces in the appropriate style. A metal umbrella stand will complete the look.

Loft living room in a small apartment

Its interior is decorated using all style attributes. Absence natural stone and bricks are compensated by wallpaper with their image or artificial panels. One such wall opposite the window opening, or even a fragment of it, is enough. This is the place where the large plasma TV will hang. All equipment used must be high-quality and expensive.
The design of a small loft-style apartment suggests whitening the ceiling with emulsion in all living areas, which will visually add height. Traditional solid wooden beams are being replaced by artificial ones made of foam. It is better to lay them out in an X-shape, with the intersection point in the center.
They try to make the flooring of a small loft-style apartment discreet and practical. It should give the impression of an industrial floor. The most successful materials: laminate, linoleum and wood.
IN classic interior It is not customary to cover window openings with anything other than blinds and roller blinds. This rule is even more relevant for the loft style in a small apartment. Frames are made of wood or imitate it. This applies to all windows in the house.
Furniture in the interior divides the space into functional areas. In the recreation area, the main item is a sofa made of leather or substitute. Modern designers They offer models made of suede and velor. Nearby are armchairs or poufs. The decoration will be original table made from pallets, made with your own hands.
The dining room is defined by a high table with a rectangular top. There are bar stools near him. Loft lamps in the interior of a small apartment differ from traditional options sizes. A bulky chandelier and lamps with long cords will not fit in a small room. Preference should be given to spotlights and hidden lamps installed along the ceiling perimeter, sconces, floor lamps, and chandeliers in the high-tech style.

Kitchen interior

Loft style small apartments offers the combination of a kitchen with a dining room and a relaxation area. For this purpose, remove the door and widen the doorway. If you demolish the kitchen partition, its place will be taken by a dividing bar counter made of “aged” boards or bricks with a smooth countertop that also serves as a work surface.
The kitchen furnishings include sparse furniture and modern metal appliances, combined with a stainless steel sink and hood. Several utensils are suitable for styling: a cast-iron coffee grinder, a toaster from the middle of the last century. A mirrored apron will add volume and shine.

Bedroom decoration

The loft style in the interior of a small bedroom is no different from classic version. It is enough to replace an ordinary door glass. The style is indicated by a fragment of rough wall treatment, open radiators and pipes.
Due to the small area, it is better to use a wardrobe with mirrored facades mounted opposite window frame. The bed is installed with the headboard to the stylized wall at a distance of at least 30 cm. It can be high metal or low with a leather or velvet headboard. An option without a bed is possible, when the mattress is placed on a pedestal made of artificial logs. If you make it yourself from the same pallets, it will be even more pleasant to sleep. I can independently assemble a wall composition from ready-made volumetric letters. All created loft decoration in a small apartment with your own hands will not only bring pleasure, but also save money.
The lighting is close to natural daylight - soft and warm. It is better not to hang large lamps, but to limit yourself to a contour spotlight system and a designer table lamp on the bedside table.
The design of the bedroom allows you to slightly move away from traditional cold colors and use softer shades of lilac, purple, blue, green, lemon.

Bathroom

The bathroom interior does not allow it to accommodate all the loft attributes. The right choice would be to use white brick-shaped tiles. Today's construction market opened the new kind 3D poured flooring. Against its background, a cast-iron bathtub with “gilded” legs, a massive shower head and taps with large valves look very impressive. Alternative - standard discreet flooring, fashionable shiny plumbing fixtures. Decorative elements include exposed black pipes and a metal towel rail.
Loft style in the interior of a small apartment is inexpensive original version home decoration, allowing you to fully express your creativity and imagination.
