In the photo: Stylish interior of the kitchen-living room in a modern style

If you are a fan of modern design and modern image life, then you definitely like the open plan kitchen-living room. It is chosen so that both the kitchen and the living room become more spacious and bright, and it is easier for the housewife to be the center of attention and monitor the children’s games while cooking.

This layout looks especially practical in small cottages and houses, where thanks to it the interior becomes more ergonomic. In the photo of the interior above you will see its implementation in small house at the Gorki Leninskie Communal Enterprise (Moscow), which our designers created in 2018.

Fashion trends next year According to the designers, the use of simplicity, environmental friendliness, discreet luxury and comfort will be used. Since the main purpose of an apartment is the convenience and safety of the residents living in it, massive furniture, artificial textures, and pretentious pomp of decorative elements are becoming a thing of the past. It’s better to get rid of all this, but you shouldn’t save on household appliances, since they are designed to make our lives easier.

Natural stone (marble, onyx, granite, agate) or its high-quality imitation, stone carving in various forms are actively used. The hit of the season is complex geometric prints on marble.

The second most popular in the ranking of building materials will be metal, which is used not only in plumbing elements, but also in furniture, its edging, and panels. Glossy metallic shine will make the interior sophisticated and fashionable. For lovers of cool shades, designers recommend using chrome and silver, which ideally reflect white light. Suitable for high-tech, Scandinavian, minimalist styles.

To add coziness and warmth to the room, copper, brass, and gilding are more suitable. Fits perfectly into a classic interior.

The much-loved cork does not lose its position in 2017, and its manifestations are appropriate everywhere - the facade of furniture cabinets, wall decoration. The tree, which in modern design used in its natural form, without large layers of varnish and paint.

Basic rules for creating the perfect interior

But where can you get ideas for inspiration if the task is to come up with a design from scratch? Various styles, trends and non-standard solutions are best demonstrated by photos of living rooms in a country house.

Some of them were created by experienced designers, others exclusively through the efforts of passionate owners. However, we must not forget a few important rules that will help in further work:

Therefore, it is desirable that the room have many large windows. If for some reason this is not possible, then you should think about additional light sources. The best hint perfect interior Taking into account these easy-to-follow rules, they will give photos of various living rooms in a private house.

Zoning Features

If the room is large enough, then it is appropriate to divide it into separate zones. This will make the room more comfortable for everyone in it and even decorate it in your own way. The living room can be divided into:

  • Dining room;
  • Recreation area;
  • Entertainment area.

In practice, this is quite simple to implement. For example, a relaxation area is unthinkable without a soft corner, a cozy sofa, and deep armchairs. All pieces of furniture must be placed around the semantic center of the room.

The dining area will be marked by a large dinner table with chairs placed around, a sideboard with glass doors or a tall cabinet with shelves. A place for entertainment can be represented by library shelves, a musical instrument, and other similar elements. Photos of different living rooms will show you how to competently play with each of the zones.
In this case, it is not at all necessary to use stationary partitions, shelving or furniture. Zoning can be done using color, curtains, lighting.

Interior by type of building

When thinking about the design of all rooms, including the living room, we must not forget about the materials used to construct the building itself. After all, the design of rooms in a wooden or stone house can differ significantly.

In the first case, walls made of wooden beams are the most worthy and stylish decoration. There is no need to decorate them with wallpaper or plaster. This environmentally friendly natural material is capable of creating a homely, cozy atmosphere without any extra effort, which is perfectly demonstrated by the photos.

Ladder

If the building has two or more floors, then the highlight non-standard interior can be staircase design. Of course, a living room with a staircase already looks unusual in itself; you just need to correctly emphasize or, on the contrary, veil the entrance to the second floor.

The initial location of the staircase plays a big role in arranging furniture, zoning the room and other nuances. Much depends on the material from which the spans are made, their architectural style, and decorative details. The photos will show how best to use this element of the interior of the living room of a private house.

The living room sets the tone

Traditionally, a house outside the city is used either for vacation or for permanent residence. Therefore, its design should be stylish, comfortable, and aesthetic. Of course, first you need to take care of the living room, which is the unspoken calling card of a residential building. It is this room that sets the tone for the stylistic direction of the entire house, and therefore shapes the daily mood of the residents.

It’s enough to look at the photo to understand how different emotions a particular living room design in a private house can evoke. Depending on personal priorities, financial capabilities and many other factors, the interior of living rooms can be designed in a completely non-standard or, on the contrary, classic style. But there are some areas that modern owners prefer most often.

Choosing a style

The Provence style creates a particularly cozy romantic atmosphere in the living room. It is best suited for the design of rooms in a wooden house, since the distinctive feature of this direction is the effect of antiquity.

A living room in a country house, made in a rustic or country style, looks great. Moreover, seemingly insignificant details can make it, for example, English or Swiss.
The first option provides for a fireplace and a huge soft sofa; it is appropriate to decorate the walls with tapestries and other textile decor. As for Swiss country, it looks slightly rough and uncouth, uses voluminous wood parts, light-colored textiles, and handmade elements.

How to use retro style For decorating living rooms, photos are best shown. But it is worth noting that all such interiors attract with the brightness of the color schemes used. Pink, green, orange, and blue coexist perfectly within the same room. But the leader, of course, is red and all its shades. The retro style is complemented by cute floor lamps, furniture with high legs, intricate sconces on the walls, and many decorative elements.

Classic style in the interior always remains relevant. The correct shapes and combinations never get boring; it is moderately luxurious and discreet. A classic living room in a country house is always a place where you can spend time pleasantly.

Modern design

The listed and some other classic trends are preferred by adults and even elderly people. Young people who are inclined to experiment more often choose modern styles, which are distinguished by their own specificity and character:

Of course, it is impossible to list the huge variety of stylistic trends that can be used in the design of living rooms. But when creating exclusive interiors, it is important to remember that this room should fit perfectly with all the other rooms, and not deviate from the given theme. Even if each of them has its own idea, all together they must form a single whole.

The most current fashionable interior styles in 2018 will be:

  • high tech;
  • Scandinavian;
  • French;
  • minimalism;
  • Cuban (Mexican);
  • bohemian (eclectic, boho);
  • retro.

Classic living room design 2018

The classic style is usually chosen by older people with refined taste. It is characterized by natural materials, discreet colors and antique decorative elements.

In such a living room, a fireplace, columns, a ceiling with stucco, and forged twisted cornices would be appropriate. You should not save on wallpaper - it should be of high quality, strict in style and color scheme. The status of the owners will be emphasized by furniture made of natural wood: table, chest of drawers, bureau (not big table ik with drawers.

The word “minimalism” speaks for itself - there should be nothing superfluous in the living room. Connoisseurs of this style do not accept flashy colors and neglect decorative elements.

Eclectic

Combination different styles, creative chaos, bright colors – it’s all about “eclecticism”. However, those who decide on a bold experiment need to have subtle taste and the ability to competently combine incongruous things so that the hall does not look comical. You can see what an unusually decorated room looks like in a photo of a living room in a private house - words cannot describe it.

Country - for connoisseurs of comfort, high-tech - for business and active

Country style is familiar to us from old American films. This living room is warm, cozy and quite modest. There are no flashy shades or pretentious decorative elements. Wood, stone, textiles give the room a special, romantic atmosphere.

The design of a living room in a private home does not necessarily have to create coziness. For modern, fashionable, business people, a high-tech style, which is somewhat reminiscent of a familiar office, is more suitable. Contrasting colors, straight lines, modern furniture and appliances, but no decorative elements.

For decoration in the Art Nouveau style, modern materials are chosen: wood, glass, iron and others. There are natural motifs on the walls; it is possible to use photo wallpapers with views of a forest or river. The floor and ceiling can be asymmetrical, but it is better to choose furniture with smooth lines.

Living room in Provence style - beautiful and unusual design

Fashionable living room interior 2018

The main principle of decorating living rooms in 2018 will be minimalism. A style with a minimum of furniture and accessories is characterized by elegance and at the same time discreet chic.
All that is required to successfully fill the living room is furniture of extremely simple shape, preferably in the Scandinavian style, comfortable upholstered furniture. Stylish accents that give the room coziness will be a small round table and a couple of paintings.

Do not overload the space with complex decorative elements and bright colors. The most fashionable wall colors in 2018 are white, milky, light coffee, lemon. Materials such as light unpainted wood, cork, and stone tub go well with this color scheme.

Snow-white image of the living room - a trendy interior for any style

White remains a favorite color when choosing the decoration and furnishings of modern living rooms. Regardless of what stylistic direction the design of the family room belongs to, its image for a long time will remain in trend. If snow-white surfaces do not bother you, because there are no small children or pets in the house that can turn a white sofa into an unrecognizable interior object, a bright living room will become the highlight of your private home.

A living room with crisp white trim and furnishings needs color accents. Often the use of wood shades when decorating floors is not enough to dilute the monochrome color palette.
As bright accents The easiest way is to use wall decor, carpeting or textile window decoration. Such colorful interior elements are easy to replace if you get tired of the accent colors. As a result, you get new image rooms, changing just a couple of details - against a snow-white background, even dim accents look impressive and attractive.

Little things that create home comfort

It is necessary to say a few words about those details that help create especially comfortable conditions in living rooms. If the size of the room allows, then one of its main decorations can be a large table that can easily accommodate household members and guests.

For greater comfort, you need to consider the use of textile decor. After all, it is the finishing touch, smoothing out individual elements and uniting them. Curtains on windows, doorways, and around the perimeter of the room must fully comply with the given style, be practical and beautiful.

If desired, you can arrange a corner in the living room that will tell about the family, its values, and traditions. It can be:

  • Photo;
  • Pictures drawn by children;
  • Crafts;
  • Other attributes that matter.

Paintings, various panels and other similar decorations will be useful in the interior of the living room. If the stylistic idea allows, then you can use appropriate decorative elements, ranging from sofa cushions to forged parts.
But in fact, it doesn’t matter at all how exactly the living room interior is decorated. The main thing is that household members always feel the love of loved ones and feel comfortable, calm and confident.

Living room combined with kitchen

There are more and more supporters of breadth and comfort, which is why studio apartments that do not have a clear distinction between functional zones are becoming so popular. The main thing is more air and less unnecessary furniture. Light glass partitions can be used for separation.

As for the color scheme, the trend is classic black and white, all shades of gray, blue, light blue, marsala, emerald, terracotta, pink.

The choice of design largely depends on the layout of the living room in a country house. Nowadays, living rooms combined with a kitchen have become quite popular. Thanks to this, the room visually expands, becomes more spacious and bright. In addition, it allows owners to realize the most daring design ideas.

What will help separate the living room from the kitchen:

  • decorative partition;
  • fireplace;
  • arch;
  • large aquarium;
  • floor and ceiling of different levels;
  • various finishing materials.

Most often, the kitchen area is separated using a multi-level ceiling, installing illuminated panels at a lower level. In the hall you can only get by with a suspended ceiling.

It is better to make the floor in the kitchen a little higher than in the main room and cover it with material that is easy to clean. Choice flooring for the living room is very wide: from laminate and parquet to carpet.

If paint or wall panels are suitable for decorating the walls in the eating area, then wallpaper is used in the room. And the walls are decorated with decorative plaster and natural stone.

Relaxation, work and creativity area

Zoning of a living room in a private house is carried out without taking into account the kitchen, when it is already separated by a wall and a door. The hall will be decorated with recreation and work areas. In the first place there is a sofa, armchairs, coffee table, TV.

In the second there is a computer desk, office equipment, shelves and racks. For those who like to draw or play music, you can highlight your own creative corner, where there will be musical instruments or an easel.

The main thing to remember is that when decorating a living room in a private home, every detail is important. Choose your style, decide on the necessary functional areas, finishing materials, furniture and, of course, decorative elements. Let your living room become unique!

Interior decoration

Furniture and equipment

The living room at home cannot be complete without comfortable furniture, which can comfortably accommodate at least a family. The sofa is an ordinary inhabitant of the hall. In order to invite guests, it is convenient to use transformable furniture, for example, all kinds of sofas that can be expanded or, on the contrary, added with poufs. Exist great options tables that turn from coffee tables into dining tables.

Furniture for storing things - cabinets, sideboards, shelves - should not take up too much space. They value functionality and ergonomics. However, “exhibits” that are especially valuable as decor may be an exception: for example, massive antique furniture. Armchairs and chairs are an excellent tool for receiving guests, but you should not oversaturate the living room with them. Although, again, it all depends on the vision and desires of the owners of the house.

Spacious corner sofa It is often the only piece of furniture to organize a relaxation area in a modern living room. The range of corner sofas is incredibly large; even the most demanding homeowner will be able to choose his own option. Often the central piece of upholstered furniture is complemented by small poufs or armchairs. Installed in the center coffee table or a pair of low stands.

For a room with a large area, you can opt for semicircular sofa models, which look luxurious and can accommodate a considerable number of guests. Of course, for an ensemble with similar modifications of sofas, a round coffee table is needed, which will act as the focal point in this well-shaped layout.

In modern living rooms, you can often find the central island not as a table-stand, but as a large pouf, which can perform several functions at once, depending on the situation. From a practicality point of view, it is better to choose leather upholstery (natural or artificial) for the upholstery of such an island-pouf, but textile design made from fabrics that are easy to care for will look organically in the interior of the living room of a private home.

Upholstered furniture with leather upholstery will always be relevant. Due to its practicality and attractive appearance, rich color palette and decoration options for modern models, leather upholstery made from natural or artificial materials also attracts our compatriots as the basis for decorating a soft area.

Upholstered furniture with leather upholstery always brings some brutality to the image of the room. If your living room is connected to a music room or office, then luxurious and roomy sofas upholstered in dark leather will fit more than organically into the design of the room.

Storage systems, tables and more

In modern living room design projects you will not find bulky storage systems that occupy an entire wall. As a rule, in the home theater area there are modest, small cabinet modules with smooth fronts. Sometimes closed storage systems alternate with open shelves to create a lighter and more harmonious image of the living room segment. Often open shelves are equipped with built-in lighting.

In some modern living rooms, low chests of drawers with many compartments - drawers - are used as storage systems. Often, such a shallow item is a hanging cabinet, which is attached to the wall and does not have legs, unlike a chest of drawers.

In a living room that combines the functions of a library, it would be most logical to place built-in book shelves with open shelves.

Such structures will make it possible to create the maximum number of storage systems at minimum costs usable living room area. Open shelves will not only allow you to display the spines of books, but also create the image of a shelf that will not feel monolithic, despite its large size.

Of the technology that has become firmly entrenched in our lives, televisions and sound systems most often “live” in the living room. Significant space savings are achieved by the modern solution of hanging a plasma TV on the wall or embedding it in furniture.

Living room interior with a small area

Not all people have large country houses. Small areas (16, 18, 20 sq.m.) have their own living room design tricks. The main thing is to visually expand the space using every free meter.

To do this use:

  • glossy ceilings - will raise the height of the room;
  • transformable furniture;
  • spotlights - they diffuse light. This is important because small living rooms do not have two windows;
  • light finishing of walls and ceiling.

Each of us has a dream - to build our own house, and make renovations inside where it will be comfortable, cozy, warm and beautiful. Sometimes it’s not possible to collect everything in one place, because many of us don’t have enough money. But we insist that everything beautiful does not have to be expensive. The main thing is to make everything taste good.

Always remember - before you start building a house, the most important question is that you need to think up in advance, find out, draw, draw in different design programs, this is the interior of your future home.

Anyone who wants to turn their home into a cozy home with individual character will have to be patient, as designing a home takes a lot of time and a lot of changes. So that you can decide what your home should be like, we will tell you about the types of styles in interior design. We will show you a lot of photos so that you can ultimately choose exactly your design, and exactly your project, and live in exactly the house that suits you mentally.

C style Provence in the interior of the house

Provence– translated from French means province.

There is no sunnier and richer place in all of France than Provence. This region has the best of everything: sparkling coastlines, enchanting nature and gastronomic lifestyle. It is on these components that the Provencal interior style is based. Its colors, as if faded in the sun, are interspersed with bright colors create comfort and lift your spirits.

Provence style is the charm of bright, good old times and simple luxury. This style combines the centuries-old traditions of French country houses and the eternal beauty of Provençal nature. Inspiration, tranquility and comfort, light and lightness await you in the interior, which is literally permeated with the languid leisurelyness of the gentle sun, the freshness of the Cote d'Azur, the aroma of Provençal herbs and endless lavender fields.

Distinctive features of the interior in the Provence style can be considered:

Pastel colors
Very light, weightless curtains
Elegant, light, often white furniture
Light floors
Insanely many fresh flowers
Floral patterns
Ruffles, cutwork, sewing
Lots of trinkets made of porcelain, ceramics, fabric.

Geographically, this design style emerged in the south of France at the end of the 18th century and expressed the desire of wealthy bourgeois to join the life of the aristocracy. Provence is characterized by a slight “shabbyness”, when the furnishings seemed to have been burnt out in the hot southern sun and were exposed to the sea wind for some time.

C COUNTRY STYLE IN THE INTERIOR OF THE HOUSE

The word “country” can be translated as “village” and “country”. Rustic style, or as it is also called, country style, has many faces. Each country has its own view of home, decorated in a simple, rustic taste.

Country is, first of all, natural. This style of interior design is intended for lovers of a measured way of country life. Loyalty family traditions, continuity of generations, the desire for a harmonious rapprochement with nature, originality - these are the main principles around which design canons are built.

Country style is very popular and resembles country life, comfort and closeness to nature. To create a country style interior, wooden, wicker or wrought iron furniture is mainly used. Interior design may include structures made of metal, glass or concrete. Today, most people prefer this style and create the image of villagers.

You can choose any materials, as long as they meet the requirements of natural origin and high environmental friendliness - wood, brick, stone, copper, aluminum, paper, cotton, chintz, straw or reed will come in handy. In this style, texture is given special importance. Wallpaper, imitation, fabric, stylized brickwork, wooden beams, columns or panels will bring the interior closer to the desired image. And, on the contrary, the coldness of chrome, glass, the soullessness of plastic and synthetics are absolutely unacceptable in a rural environment.

The floor can be covered natural boards, laminate or tiled, such as slate, terracotta or sandstone.

The favorite style is wood, it is used everywhere. Moreover, the less processing the surface has undergone, the more stylish it looks. Doors and windows are no exception. The first ones are solid with geometric embossing and simple fittings made of dark metal. The second ones are strict, simple in shape, with a large number of divisions.

A slave (MOROCCAN) style IN THE INTERIOR OF THE HOUSE

Oriental style in the interior is the most interesting and diverse style among the others. Since it has absorbed the diversity of elements of Arab, Asian and Indian culture. Each component of the style of the oriental genre has its own characteristic features and differences.

The Arabic style, in turn, includes the specifics of South-West Asia: the Arabian Peninsula (Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Qatar, United United Arab Emirates etc.) and North Africa (Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Libya, Iran, etc.). Turkey can also be added to these cities, since the main part of the state is located in Southwestern Asia, and the rest in Southern Europe.

This style represents peace of mind, harmony and tranquility along with beauty, brightness and wealth. An interior in this genre can be made both in the spirit of minimalism (Asian motifs - simplicity and practicality), and with the use of many additions and accessories (Arabic motifs - luxury and sophistication). The first, it turns out, acts as a counterbalance to the second style. Therefore, every decorative detail and every item requires stylistic selection and careful elaboration. To understand the big picture and recognize the right direction for everyone oriental interiors there are some common features.

The Moroccan interior contains colors characteristic of the African style, that is, the colors of the nature of the black continent: desert, scorching sun, shady jungle, fires in the African night. These are sand, orange, terracotta, red (various warm shades red), brown, swamp green, etc.

However, in addition to this, Moroccan interiors use colors characteristic of the Arabic style: pink-orange, gold, scarlet, fuchsia, royal blue, dark purple, burgundy, etc.

Most often, stone floors are found in Moroccan interiors, due to climatic conditions. The stone is cold, but on hot days and sultry nights the coolness of the floor increases the level of comfort.

If the coldness of a stone floor scares you, you can choose a tile or wood laminate. In Moroccan interiors, wooden floors are also not uncommon: mostly rough boards and stacked parquet (wooden modules of different colors are laid out in a certain way to create a beautiful ornament). But if we are talking about styling, laminate is quite suitable.

However, the optimal solution for the floor in a Moroccan interior is still porcelain tiles warm color(brown, terracotta, beige).

In living rooms and hallways, the walls are most often plastered. In Morocco, decorative paint is used to decorate walls. textured plaster, after application of which the walls become like marble. Plaster can be ordinary. Then the plastered walls are painted with colored or snow-white paint.

In wet rooms and front halls, the walls are decorated with bright mosaics that form a Moroccan pattern.

The ceilings in Moroccan houses are very high. They are painted in one of the commonly used colors. According to tradition in common areas the ceiling is made blue or dark blue - it symbolizes the firmament. A border is made between the wall and the ceiling - it can be a mosaic, painting or lace stucco.

In expensive Moroccan interiors, the ceilings can be wooden - carved or painted with Moroccan ornaments. The work is difficult and very expensive, but the result is amazing.

Minimalism IN THE INTERIOR OF THE HOUSE

The concept of minimalism arose from the Latin word minimus, which translates as smallest. That is, in the interior of the room they use smallest combination colors, textures, shapes and objects.

Minimalism is a style for those who look to the future. The validity of this statement is confirmed by many designers. They believe that a modern person will most quickly rest and restore strength after a busy day in a spacious room, free from unnecessary details, details and things. However, implementing the minimalist style in the interior is not as easy as it seems at first glance. When creating an interior, it is important to very subtly feel the difference between ascetic and functional life. After all, a minimalist interior is not necessarily an empty open room with a couch as all the necessary pieces of furniture. No. Minimalism allows you to create a convenient, comfortable and functional interior that uses a small number of quality items.

The minimalist style won the hearts of innovators in design and architecture in the late 1980s. Inspired by traditional Japanese design and the concept of Zen Buddhism, London and New York architects created sophisticated interiors with an emphasis on clean lines, natural light and minimal furniture and decor.

The founder of minimalism, architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, proclaimed the basic principle of this trend - “Less is More”. Minimalism is the pursuit of perfection through restraint and asceticism, embodied in the simple geometry of forms.

A modern minimalist interior is a balanced living space, including only the necessary minimum of items. A minimalist interior comes to life thanks to the play of light, graphic shapes and dynamic color combinations. In this case, functionality and proper zoning come first.

C TIL Hi-tech IN THE INTERIOR OF THE HOUSE

The main features of the style are a lot of light, space and technical innovations.

High-tech came into fashion in the 70s of the last century on the wave of postmodernism. In a short decade, it spread across Europe and began to penetrate into Russia. This style has something of pop art and science fiction illustrations. Like any modernist movement, high-tech style is a challenge to everything traditional and outdated.
The style has several main distinctive features:
The lines are simple, strict, tough. This applies to walls, furniture and, to a lesser extent, accessories.
Shelves and cabinets are hidden. Storage spaces are mounted in such a way that one cannot think that there is a shelf hidden behind this flat surface.
Industrial materials. Metal, glass, concrete, brick, plastic predominate in the interior of a high-tech house. Leave the natural structure or polish to a shine. Wood has a right to exist, but it must be unprocessed.

High-tech technologies take care of the comfort, health and safety of those living in a modern home. An armored door with a fingerprint scanner will make it impossible for unauthorized persons to enter your property from the threshold, and you will not need keys. The fingerprint scanner, which reliably identifies up to 99 different fingerprints, can be replaced with contactless cards or a chip. A reliable video camera built into the door will tell you who is behind the door. The image from the camera can be sent to your TV screen via the Internet, to your computer or mobile phone. And inside the house we will find space and minimalism.

The high-tech style in the interior is characterized by convenient equipment. The built-in audio-video system makes being in the kitchen more enjoyable, even all day. You can drink your morning coffee while listening to tunes from your MP3 player, or surf the Internet, watch the news or watch a movie on the LCD screen while preparing lunch.

And the English bourgeois style IN THE INTERIOR OF THE HOUSE

The American bourgeois style was formed under the influence of several styles of the twentieth century: Austrian Biedermeier (the so-called “comfortable” Empire style), Art Deco (geometric shapes, rich ornaments, exotic wood, glass, onyx, marble) and eclecticism of the post-war period. Speaking about the American bourgeois style in the interior, it is worth paying attention to the fact that it became widespread among successful capitalists and wealthy entrepreneurs, where housing was the same indicator of status, prosperity and prestige as luxury yachts and limousines. This was the era of the rise of the American economy, Prohibition, and the emergence of numerous nouveau riche. The area of housing is directly proportional to the impressive sums that the American bourgeoisie spent on furnishing their homes.

An important stage will be finishing the floor of the room; parquet is mainly used with geometric motifs - these can be straight lines, zigzags and triangles. Interior decoration is impossible without accessories. In the American bourgeois style, a separate part is given to this. This direction of interior design involves a certain democratization of space: lamps, candlesticks, large flower vases and medium-sized figurines are located on the floor. Product materials: crystal, onyx, glass, jasper, marble, brass. When choosing lighting, you should pay attention to chandeliers and floor lamps geometric shapes(circle, semicircle, ball, cube, square, octagon), made of Murano glass. A striking solution in decorating will be a cascading crystal chandelier.

The main sign is temporary layers. It seems as if this interior was created step by step, each generation brought something of its own to it: from the grandmother - a solid library and a retro camera, from the mother there was a classic sofa and a chair by a famous designer, and the daughter painted the wall in a shade of turquoise and hung a fashionable one. lamp…

In fact, this is, of course, an appearance: bohemian interiors are a favorite theme for professional interior decorators. Creating an interior with history - even in a new building - is considered the highest degree of skill.

Traditional English style is an eclecticism of “flavors” from different eras, which today we perceive as classics.

The main principle of the English interior: rich and restrained. If we take moderate luxury on the verge of sophistication, a sense of taste and proportion, we get pure English style. Since England is an isolated island, this fact could not but leave its mark on the style of home decoration. Conservatism and a measured way of life are visible all around. From generation to generation, traditions remain constant, with only minor changes added to the layout of the house. The English style can be characterized by concepts such as respectability and luxury; in one word, it is a classic interior style with the addition of luxury. This style is reminiscent of the castles of English aristocrats - noble, majestic. As a memory of the colonial past, in some places there are shades of Indian and Chinese style.

The English style is characterized by the influence of two eras: Georgian (1714-1837) and Victorian styles (1837-1901). This period was marked by a rapid increase in the ability to use a variety of styles from around the world and different eras.

During the reign of King George I, the influence of Ancient Greece and Rome began to be felt in the English style. The style of that era can be described as majestic, restrained, proportional and symmetrical. The choice of color often depended on the direction of the world where the room’s windows faced. If to the north, warm shades predominated, for example, golden pink, lemon yellow. If to the south - cold: azure, rich green. The interiors of that time could contain elements borrowed from the cultures of India, Japan, China, Mauritania, Ancient Egypt, as well as the styles of Rococo, Louis XIV, James I, etc.

The Victorian style was formed in England during the reign of Queen Victoria, namely in the second half of the 19th century. At this time, thanks to the rapid development of industry and colonies around the world, the bourgeoisie began to get rich and take shape as a class. It should be noted that many interior items, previously not available to everyone and considered luxury, have gained mass popularity. Thanks to mass industrial production, many items that were previously considered unaffordable luxuries have become publicly available. Decorating, arranging and furnishing houses acquired a demonstrative character of status and wealth.

In the 19th century, the famous designer William Morris became famous for creating on the basis of a medieval English interior what is today called the English style throughout the world.

And American (national eclecticism) IN THE INTERIOR OF THE HOUSE

Eclectic style is a combination of elements inherent different eras and directions to create a cohesive, harmonious interior.

The eclectic style originated at the end of the 19th century in Europe (France, England, Germany), when architects, in search of new ideas, began to mix elements inherent in various classical styles. Bold combinations of styles became a source of endless inspiration for designers and artists of those years.

Very quickly, eclecticism became widespread in North America, where it became recognized not only by people of art, but also by the general public and, in addition to architecture, manifested itself in interior design.

By the 1930s, eclecticism was replaced by art deco and modernism, and it managed to win the hearts of designers again only in the new millennium: in the 2000s, eclecticism burst into the world of design, absorbing all the current styles of the 20th century during its long absence.

Eclecticism often manifests itself in a mixture of similar and non-contradictory styles, such as classicism and empire, baroque and modern. But it is nevertheless interesting to us for its excellent ability to combine old and new, western and eastern, in the interior. The consequence of these experiments is, for example, the connection ethnic style with art deco and hi-tech.

Main features:

Different stylistic elements should be united by texture, color and general decision design.
Comfort and functionality, expressed by a combination of modern items with elements of past eras.
Using patterns such as stripes, zigzags, circles on furniture.
Patterned wallpaper, carved tiles on the walls, parquet, draperies on windows and doorways.
Vertical lines, niches, rounded corners.
Oriental bedspreads and carpets, decorative pillows rich range of colors.
Decorative details that unite different objects in the interior.

Chalet (country style) in the interior

One of the old French interior styles is the chalet. Translated from French, “chalet” means a hotel or house in a rural style. Initially, this word denoted small rural houses in the Alps that served as shelter for travelers and shepherds in bad weather; later it began to be used to describe a whole direction in interior design, made in a rustic style

Chalet style is

simplicity;
practicality;
naturalness;
warmth and comfort.

The difference between a chalet and other similar styles, for example, country, is its great brevity and practicality.

Raw materials are often used in the interior:
unpainted wooden floors,
walls plastered or lined with wood, but without final finishing,
protruding ceiling beams,
large fireplace, roughly lined with natural stone.
All objects in the interior seem durable, stable, massive, and reliable. It is these principles of the chalet style that have made it so popular when decorating country houses.

The principles are the desire to be closer to nature, to be able to immerse yourself in the beauty of the environment after a noisy and polluted city. It should also be noted that the popularity of ski resorts in our country is now at its peak. Leading a healthy lifestyle is not only useful, but also fashionable; skiing and snowboarding is the latest trend among sports trends. Well, wealthy people can afford to build a country house, appearance and the arrangement of which will remind you of a ski resort all year round.

The Chalet style came to us from southeastern France, a province located on the border with Switzerland. It is precisely the features of the mountain climate, severity and even some severity natural phenomena and rural lifestyle were reflected in the style in which wealthy homeowners now prefer to build houses for country holidays. If we talk about the literal translation of the word “chalet,” then this is a shepherd’s house located near the mountains. It is obvious that the structure, the location of which was so difficult, had to meet all the requirements of strength and durability. Typically, small houses for rural residents of European provinces were built of stone and wood - the foundation and part of the first floor were made of stone, and the attic was made of wooden beam or logs. Such structures have justified themselves over time - the stone base was a reliable protection against unpleasant weather conditions in the form of gusty winds, heavy rain or snowfall.

The origin of the Alpine style has secured its association with rural simplicity, comfort and the warm atmosphere of the home. And the main feature of decorating a space in a chalet style is the use of natural materials. You will probably not find such intensive use of wood and natural stone in any other stylistic movement.

Imagining a living room in a house located in a ski resort on the Alpine slopes, we involuntarily lean towards the style of a hunting lodge, but in a more spacious room with abundant use of wood and stone finishes, stuffed animals on the walls and fur skins on the floors instead of carpets. And in this presentation we are not far from the embodiment of Alpine style in living room interiors.

AND imperial style (EMPIRE) IN THE INTERIOR

The Empire style originated in France during the reign of Napoleon Bonaparte and was the pinnacle of classicism. Translated from French, “empire” means “empire,” and this name perfectly characterizes this direction. Imperial luxury, pomp and solemnity are the distinctive features of this style in the interior.

Empire style (French style Empire - “imperial style”) is the style of late (high) classicism in architecture and applied arts. Originated in France during the reign of Emperor Napoleon I; developed during the first three decades of the 19th century; was replaced by eclectic movements.

In the Russian Empire, this style appeared under Alexander I. Inviting foreign architects to Russia was a frequent occurrence, since it was fashionable among titled persons, and at the beginning of the 19th century there was a passion for French culture in Russia. For the construction of St. Isaac's Cathedral, Alexander I invited the aspiring French architect Henri Louis Auguste Ricard de Montferrand, who later became one of the founders of the “Russian Empire style”.

The Russian Empire style was divided into Moscow and St. Petersburg, and such a division was determined not so much by territorial characteristics as by the degree of separation from classicism - the Moscow one was closer to it. The most famous representative of the St. Petersburg style of the Empire style was the architect Karl Rossi; among other representatives of this style, it is customary to name the architects Andreyan Zakharov, Andrey Voronikhin, Osip Bove, Domenico Gilardi, Vasily Stasov, and the sculptors Ivan Martos, Feodosius Shchedrin. In Russia, the Empire style dominated architecture until 1830-1840.

The revival of the Empire style in degenerate forms occurred in Russia during the Soviet era, from the mid-1930s to the mid-1950s. This style of the Empire style is also known as the “Stalin Empire style”.

The Empire style was based on the architectural and stylistic traditions of the most ancient states: the Egyptian, Ancient Greek and Roman Empires. Columns, frescoes, arches, bas-reliefs, rich stucco, ceiling borders, pilasters - all these are borrowed antique elements that have become integral decorations of Empire style interiors. Military symbols on the walls: shields, swords, swords and armor symbolize greatness and valor, and family coats of arms symbolize the continuity of family traditions.

The characteristic features of the Empire style are:

Compliance with the rules of symmetry.
Artistic sophistication.
Solemn parade.
Monumentality.
Abundance of decorative elements.
Empire style is appropriate in the interior of spacious rooms with large windows and high ceilings. It is unlikely that this style will be suitable for decorating cramped apartments that are unable to convey all its pathos, grandeur and monumentality that were originally intended.
