Terrace. The table, chairs and serving items were purchased at a flea market. Tableware, Zara Home.

This happened with my clients, who, having fallen under the charm of an old Italian town, unexpectedly became the owners of a dilapidated farm. Its price, by the way, was approximately equal to the cost of a one-room apartment in Biryulyovo.

The metal staircase was created according to the sketches of a decorator in a local family workshop. The metal is processed in a special way and looks like an aged rusty surface.

Moreover, the building is surrounded by buildings of the 15th–16th centuries. A stone's throw away is a church with frescoes from the 15th century. The streets are paved with paving stones, the walls are lined with stone, and everywhere there are massive wooden gates and doors, arches and street fountains with drinking water. The farm, although it looked like ruins, nevertheless had historical status. Any construction works it was necessary to coordinate with numerous authorities. And there was a lot of work planned.

Stone walls 70 cm thick stood directly on the ground, supporting wooden structures and the ceilings between the floors were thoroughly rotten, there was lighting only in two rooms - and no other communications.

The display cabinet and bar counter, lined with tiles, were made by local craftsmen according to the decorator's sketches.

When we disassembled old roof, the walls began to tilt. Moreover, a crack appeared along the wall of the adjacent building, which was owned by Italian neighbors. We had to urgently make changes to the project and strengthen the frame with additional metal structures. Restoration stone walls carried out both outside and inside.

The hand-painted chest of drawers, mirror and box are flea market finds.

This complex, painstaking process was entrusted to local professional mason-restorers. As a result, we managed to preserve the original masonry. In some places they used brick, but it, like the missing amount of tiles, was purchased at a special market historical materials.

Fireplace room. The cast-iron stove, like all the furniture in this room, including a 19th-century crystal chandelier, was found at an antique market and repaired in a local workshop.

Having restored the architecture, we began interior design. First of all, it was necessary to form within the walls of the former farm living rooms. So, in the room where the living room is located today, horses and cows were previously kept. This was evidenced by special protrusions along the wall where feeders were placed.

The windows here were quite small, besides different sizes and located not in the centers of the arches. But we were categorically forbidden to change the historical facade. To somehow increase illumination, we designed front door with glass. Located directly opposite the entrance wine bar.

Wardrobe and chair, antiques. The lamp is completed Russian company Handlestudio.

The display cabinet, made of old, beetle-eaten oak, was created according to my sketches by local craftsman Luciano, whom we nicknamed Papa Carlo. It was important for me to support the original architecture with traditional furniture and decorative items for the region. Therefore, almost all of them were purchased at local antique markets.

It’s funny that we were given a carved chair in the living room for 5 euros in change when buying antique bellows for blowing up the fireplace. But a round painting depicting lemons arrived here from Tuscany, where it was discovered during the reconstruction of one of the ancient villas. I couldn’t think of a better plot for the living room of an Italian home!

The wardrobe, armchair and chandelier are flea market finds. The 19th century cabinet can be disassembled in parts, so it can easily fit into any openings.

This section of the catalog contains photos demonstrating Italian-style house designs. All of them involve construction of brick or more modern material- aerated concrete blocks. Moreover, they appearance very different, the buildings retain the basic idea of Italian architecture. Volume and proportions, perspective and layout come first, not shape, color or ornament. By its nature it is a constructive rather than a decorative style.

Features of Italian architecture

Among the famous Italian architects, Andrea Palladio, who is considered the creator of classicism, occupies a special place. At the end of the Renaissance he restored the construction main principle Antiquity: order system. Since then, columns, pilasters, pylons have been used in different combinations, building a classic subordination: the heavy lower part of the structure is gradually lighter towards the top.

The Palladian style spread throughout the world, and is still developing in the ideas of modern home building. As an example, we can recall the Bolshoi Theater, noble estates, or the building of the nearest regional cultural center. By the way, in Italy there are no Gothic buildings intensely directed into the sky - this is a completely different view of the world around us.

Italian style house projects are characterized by the following features:

  • rectangular, round, triangular shapes, arranged in strict symmetrical rows;
  • as decoration, a few bas-reliefs in oval medallions, stucco molding, statues;
  • the decoration is dominated by light natural tones: white with pink, green, gray tint;
  • low roofs with domes and triangular pediments, rotundas, balconies.
  • arched entrances and windows, sometimes consisting of three: a tall one in the middle, two small ones on the sides.

In most cases, customers have in mind just such a massive strict house, characterized by noble simplicity, and the obligatory columns at the entrance (photo No. 36-14 in the catalog).

Projects of Italian houses and cottages

Our architects are happy to work with classics, creating original solutions for Italian-style brick houses. Each project contains a complete set of documentation:

  • floor plans that allow you to evaluate the layout and area of the premises;
  • description structural elements indicating building materials;
  • working drawings for builders, masonry plans, specifications.

Detailed diagrams ensure technically competent construction, and give the customer the opportunity to control the process.

In our catalog you will find Various types buildings, from a small village house (No. 51-71, 130 m2) to a 2-story mansion in a modern interpretation classic style(No. 47-44, 195 m2). Photo No. 39-23 shows the project of an Italian villa: a fabulously beautiful palace with an area of almost 2,000 m2. It has a swimming pool, a sauna, second light - in short, everything to inner life the inhabitants of the house corresponded to its luxurious appearance.

As a result of the renovation, your interior should become a modern interpretation of a luxury apartment. With the help of high-quality finishing of walls, floors and ceilings, this feeling is created. Walls are the main background of your interior. The more fanciful the ornament of the facades, the simpler the walls should look. And vice versa. The walls can be painted a solid color or simply covered with plaster (Venetian would be a great option). As an option - wallpaper with classic vertical stripes.

You can also decorate the walls with frescoes. Thematic ones are suitable for the kitchen: decorate the room grapevine or olive branches.

To finish the floor, natural materials are used to the maximum: stone or wood. Stone tiles with mosaics on the floor will look very stylish. Leave enough space for the mosaic to make it the semantic center of the interior. What good will it do if you create a decorative element that no one will see or that will end up covered by the rug? The colors of the mosaic should ideally be combined with other interior design elements.

Living in stone is certainly not a choice for everyone. The solution is a parquet mosaic, which can be left without a final glossy coating, so that the result is closer to natural. For the floor in the kitchen they often create combined option: tiles are laid in the food preparation area, and parquet on the rest of the area. The shades of tiles and parquet should be different.

A characteristic feature that distinguishes the classic style from the modern one is the ceiling, decorated with stucco, the center of which becomes a volumetric chandelier. Stucco molding can be bought or made to order, from polyurethane or gypsum (this is enough economical option). It's about and about the socket under the chandelier, and about the so-called ceiling skirting boards(aka baguettes and fillets). As for the choice of color, it is worth focusing on different shades of white. For the kitchen, you can choose pastel shades of yellow or blue, for example. It is not necessary to adhere to the classical style in everything. Remember that you can add a touch of modernity to the classic Italian style.
