Options for installing a baby pump in a pond. Baby pump cost and application. Lower water intake

Watering a garden, pumping water into a reservoir from a well, river, lake or even from a well - all this can submersible pump Baby. What’s nice is that it costs very little, although its characteristics are modest, but it’s enough to water the garden or provide water to a couple of taps.

Application area

The Malysh submersible pump has a low price and is suitable for pumping clean water. It is better not to pump heavily contaminated water with it - it will quickly burn out. It is used in the following cases:

  • for watering the garden;
  • for collecting water into storage tanks;
  • for water supply at home, but with certain restrictions (more on this below).

The Baby submersible pump can pump water from a well, a natural source - a pond, river, lake. It is suitable for dispensing water from containers. It can also be used for wells, but with reservations. Since the pump type is vibrating, it creates vibrations in the water column, lifting the smallest particles (silt, clay, sand) from the bottom and sucking them in. If in the case of a well this does not threaten anything other than opaque water, then when using a Malysh pump in a well it can silt up faster. In any case, this is the common opinion.

Manufacturers in their recommendations for use indicate the minimum diameter of a well or well - 90-100 cm, some models (Kid 3) can work in sources with a diameter of 70-75 cm. However, they are also used in very narrow wells. The main thing is that he gets there. But at the same time it hits the walls of the well, creating additional vibration and threatening to split the casing or damage its own casing. To reduce beating, rubber rings are put on the body (pictured above). They solve the problem.

Manufacturers

The names “Baby” and “Stream” have long become household names. This is what small submersible vibration pumps are called today. Initially, they were produced exclusively in Russia or in neighboring countries, but today there are plenty of Chinese “Kids” on the market. In general, there are several manufacturers of such pumps in Russia:

The rest of the brands are Chinese. How to determine? Carefully examine the packaging and passport. If this Russian manufacturer, there must be an address, the name of the enterprise, a list of service providers, etc. If there is no such information, this product comes from the DPRK.

Specifications

As already mentioned, Malysh submersible pumps have low power - mostly about 250 W, that is, create high pressure he can't. Their clones with other names can be found slightly more powerful.

What is also important is the lifting height - this is how far water can be pumped. In the technical specifications, it should be about 20% greater than what you need.

Pay attention to the power supply for which this model is designed. Usually this is 200 V with possible small deviations of the order of 5%, but the reality is that the network can be 240 V, and at such a voltage a pump with such characteristics will burn out. The solution is to install a stabilizer or look for a model with a higher operating voltage (a decrease from the operating voltage does not have such a negative effect on the work - the power decreases).

Another important indicator is productivity. It is usually indicated in liters per minute or per second. This value shows how much water the unit is able to pump under normal conditions. For this type of equipment, this figure is quite small - about 400 ml/sec. Such a submersible pump Malysh can provide water to one water collection point - one irrigation hose or tap in the house. He's without anything more additional equipment not able to.

Each type of pump is available with a different length of electrical cord and this changes the price (the longer the cord, the more expensive). You can also find varieties with dry run protection, but you can make your own (see below).

Installation in a well or borehole

The submersible pump Baby is suspended on a synthetic rope. A metal cable or wire is quickly destroyed by vibration. Their use is possible if a synthetic cable is tied below - at least 2 meters. To secure it, there are lugs in the upper part of the case. The end of the cable is threaded through them and carefully secured. The unit is located no lower than 10 cm from the pump body so that it does not get sucked inside. The cut edges are melted to prevent the cable from unraveling.

Connecting hoses and pipes

A supply hose is attached to the pump outlet. Its internal diameter should be slightly smaller (a couple of millimeters) than the diameter of the pipe. A hose that is too narrow creates additional stress, which causes the unit to burn out faster.

It is allowed to install flexible rubber or polymer hoses, as well as plastic or metal pipes suitable diameter. When using pipes, the pump is connected to them with a piece of flexible hose at least 2 meters long.

The hose is secured to the pipe using a metal clamp. Usually a problem arises here: the hose jumps off due to constant vibrations. To prevent this from happening, the outer surface of the pipe can be processed with a file, giving it additional roughness. You can also make a groove for the clamp, but don’t get too carried away. It is better to use a stainless steel clamp with notches - it gives additional rigidity to the fastening.

Preparation and descent

The installed hose, cable and electrical cable are pulled together by installing constrictions. The first one is placed at a distance of 25-30 cm from the body, all the others in increments of 1-2 meters. Banners can be made from adhesive tape, plastic clamps, pieces of synthetic twine, etc. The use of metal wire or clamps is prohibited - when they vibrate, they chafe the sheath of the cord, hose, or the twine itself.

A crossbar is installed at the head of the well or borehole, to which the cable will be attached. The second option is a hook on the side wall.

The prepared pump is carefully lowered to the required depth. Here, too, questions arise: at what depth to install the Malysh submersible pump. The answer is twofold. Firstly, the distance from the water surface to the top of the hull should be no more than the immersion depth of this model. For the Topol “Malysh” it is 3 meters, for the PATRIOT unit it is 10 meters. Secondly, there must be at least a meter to the bottom of the well or borehole. This is so as not to disturb the water too much.

If the Malysh submersible pump is installed in a well, it should not touch the walls. When installed in a well, a rubber spring ring is put on the body.

Having lowered the pump to the required depth, the cable is secured to the crossbar. Please note: all weight must be on the cable, not on the hose or cable. To do this, when fastening, the twine is pulled tight, and the cord and hose are slightly loosened.

Installation in a shallow well

At a shallow well depth, when the length of the cable is less than 5 meters, to neutralize vibrations, the cable is suspended from the crossbar through a spring pad. The best option is a piece of thick rubber that can withstand the load (weight and vibration). The use of springs is not recommended.

Installation in a river, pond, lake (horizontally)

The Malysh submersible pump can also be operated in a horizontal position. Its preparation is similar - put on the hose, fasten everything with ties. Only then should the body be wrapped in a rubber sheet 1-3 mm thick.

Once the pump is lowered under water, it can be turned on and operated. It does not require any additional measures (filling and lubrication). It cools down with the help of pumped water, which is why switching on without water has an extremely bad effect on it: the motor overheats and can burn out.

Features of operation

Some models of submersible vibration pumps for wells have overheating protection. This is a very useful feature that prevents the motor from burning out. At long work or if operating conditions are violated, the built-in thermal relay (overheating protection) opens the power circuit, turning off the pump. After some time, the relay returns to its original state and operation resumes.

If your pump shuts down due to overheating, it is advisable to immediately find out the reason. Shutdown may be caused by lack of water or increased voltage. If so, you need to start the equipment only when everything returns to normal. Another one possible reason— the suction pipe is clogged. This can only be dealt with by removing the pump, disassembling and cleaning it, which is contraindicated during the warranty period. Although, if your pump is clogged, you have already violated the operating rules - it is suitable for pumping only clean water.

Dry running protection

Since many Baby models cannot be lowered below three meters from the water surface, with a low flow rate there is a threat that the water will run out, but the pump will continue to work and, as a result, will burn out. To avoid this situation, you can install a water level sensor. This is a float sensor, also called a “frog”. It works very simply:

  • when it is raised up, the contacts are closed, power is supplied;
  • when the water level drops, the float also drops, the contacts in the sensor open, breaking the power circuit;
  • the water gradually accumulates, the float rises higher, at a certain level the contacts close again, and the pump starts working.

Such a sensor costs less than 1 thousand rubles, it is easy to install - into a break in the power cable, but it is of great benefit.

Working with a hydraulic accumulator

In general, vibrating submersible pumps are not designed to work in conjunction with a hydraulic accumulator. They cannot create high enough pressure. But... under certain conditions they work. The assembly diagram is standard: pump, pressure gauge, hydraulic accumulator, all this is assembled through a five-pin fitting. For normal operation, a check valve(so that the water does not flow back into the well). Another condition is that it must have a significant capacity (100 or 150 liters).

Having assembled this circuit, you need to configure the pressure switch. The less it is asked, the better, otherwise the Baby will not have enough power. But even with a little pressure, everything will work for a couple of years at most, but more likely a year and a half.

What to do to make it work longer

Malysh type pumps cost very little, but do not last long - about 2-3 years. In their production they are used inexpensive materials- to reduce costs. If you carry out some measures immediately after purchase, as well as carry out regular “technical inspections,” you can significantly extend the service life. So what can you do:

  • Immediately replace the screws holding the housing together with longer ones and add locknuts. If this is not done, the bolts will become loose and break the rod.
  • Once a month, inspect the pump; when pumping contaminated water, disassemble and rinse.
  • When operating with a hydraulic accumulator, set the minimum pressure.
  • Install dry-running protection.
  • Apply voltage through a stabilizer.

Some of the activities are costly. For example, a stabilizer costs about the same or even more than this pump, but it can be used with other types, and they will all work better at a stable voltage. But changing the bolts is key moment which needs to be executed.

Let's begin with performance characteristics pumping equipment produced by domestic manufacturers are practically in no way inferior to those of foreign-made products. But this equipment is cheaper, which allows you to save a lot of money. Bright to that An example is the Malysh pump, which, thanks to its technical parameters, ease of installation and operation, has gained enormous popularity. We will talk in more detail about what kind of pump this is in today’s article.

What is the Baby intended for?

This pump can be used in the most various fields, including on subsidiary farms, on suburban areas, in different farms Oh. This device is rightfully considered universal, and therefore is used for the following purposes.

  1. Arrangement of watering/irrigation systems on plots, plantings and fields. In addition, the pump can be used to fill artificial reservoirs with water or, on the contrary, to pump it out.
  2. Pumping from various utility rooms and basements. Due to its compactness, ease of connection and use, the unit is ideal for this.
  3. Supplying water from a source (this can be a well, a well) into special containers or water pipelines. Yes, for the site small size the pump is capable of providing water to all water intake points.

The pump connection can be either upper or lower - it all depends on the specifics of its application. The second option is more effective if use is required in a well/well whose diameter is more than 10 centimeters. You can also use a pump to pump out liquid from small containers (that is, again, pumping water from basements during flooding). A disadvantage of the lower fence can be considered the fact that they can get into the water. different particles or dirt, and therefore a filter must be installed at the inlet.

As for equipment with a top fence, debris cannot get inside; Moreover, it is characterized by efficient cooling, which is why the risk of overheating is minimal. You can, for example, leave the pump running and go on other errands - an excellent option for ensuring autonomous water supply. With the help of such pumps, water can be lifted from wells/wells.

Note! When choosing a pump, be sure to pay attention to how pure water, which will need to be pumped. After all, if the water is contaminated, it is better to give preference to a unit with an upper intake in order to avoid accidental breakdowns.

Pump operating principle

The baby (in fact, like any other vibration-type unit) operates on an inert principle - in other words, there is a special vibrator inside the pump that gives the water oscillatory movements. The vibrator itself is made in the form of an anchor with a rod attached to it. After turning on the equipment, the armature is attracted to the magnet, after which the latter is turned off, and it (the armature) returns together with the rod to its original position thanks to a special spring. The frequency of such oscillations is about 50 times per second.

From all of the above, we can conclude that the Kid, having such simple design, due to its characteristics, is still able to maintain a fairly high pressure in the system.

What to look for when purchasing?

Having a relatively low cost, the Malysh pump satisfies all the requirements of the modern buyer due to the following technical characteristics:

  • it operates on a standard voltage of 220 W;
  • the power of this equipment is 245 W;
  • performance indicator is 432 horsepower;
  • the maximum working depth reaches 40 meters;
  • Finally, the body has lower/upper holes for water intake.

As for the cost of the device, it ranges from approximately 1000-2000 rubles, but its performance characteristics are so good that the model quickly gained popularity among users. Today's modifications are equipped with an integrated automatic protection system, thanks to which the pump is reliably protected from overheating due to “dry running”, and the engine responds quickly enough to voltage drops. For houses outside the city this advantage This is especially important since there is not always a stable energy supply there.

If the water level in the tank drops below a certain level, the pump power mechanism is automatically turned off. A float system is used to determine the level. When the water rises again to the required level, the pump motor lowers again. Typically, the protective system operates from the same power source as the unit itself.

Note! Among other things, you must understand that this unit is presented on the modern market with several modifications at once. Let's take a closer look at each of them.

Modification No. 1. Traditional Kid

This model is distinguished by the fact that it is intended primarily for transporting liquid over long distances. Classic version The unit is capable of pumping water approximately 100-150 meters, and therefore is ideal for organizing irrigation in large suburban areas. Diameter of the hose used in in this case varies between 1.8-2.2 centimeters.

This model should not be used in a polluted environment, and the concentration of impurities should be no more than 0.01 percent. Moreover, the temperature of the pumped liquid should be no more than +35 degrees.

It is also worth noting that the basic model does not have a pressure switch, overheat protection or filter. And if you can buy the last one and install it yourself, then you’ll have to somehow manage without the rest. Obviously, because of all this, the cost of this model is noticeably lower than other modifications. The maximum immersion depth of the unit is 5 meters, while water is pumped through the bottom valve.

Modification No. 2. Malysh-M

Let’s immediately make a reservation that in terms of its technical characteristics this Baby is practically no different from the modification that was described in previous section articles. The only exception is the fact that water intake in this case is carried out through the top valve. For this reason, this modification of the unit is recommended for use where lower intake is simply impossible due to increased contamination of the bottom.

Modification No. 3. Baby-K

This variety has almost the same characteristics as the basic Malysh pump, only it is additionally equipped with protection against overheating. That is why this unit can be used for long-term continuous operation without human participation/supervision. Let's move on to the next modification.

Modification No. 4. Baby-3

This submersible borehole pump is most suitable for use in small wells. Its cost is slightly higher than that of the same basic version, but there are serious design differences, which are listed below.

  1. First of all, this is the fact that the unit, together with the electric motor, is located in a sealed monolithic block, which eliminates the possibility of moisture penetration.
  2. The pump weighs a maximum of 3 kilograms.
  3. As for the rated power, it is only 165 W, that is, lower than that of the base Baby. But for a small well this is quite enough.
  4. The productivity of the unit is 0.432 cubic meters per hour, with a pressure reaching 20 meters.

In addition, such a pump is quite compact and comes with a cable that is reliably protected from moisture. Yes, water filter It is not included as standard, but if necessary, it is easy to purchase and install yourself.

Important information! When choosing one or another modification of the Baby, take into account the features of the tank in which you plan to operate the unit. In some cases, even a basic modification will be quite enough, while in others it is more advisable to give preference to a model with built-in additional options.

Cost of Malysh pumps - average market data

As has been noted many times before, such a pump is inexpensive. Of course, the specific figure may vary depending on the modification or region, but still not by much. Let's get acquainted with the average market prices for various varieties of the described model. For the convenience of site visitors, the information below is presented in the form of a small table.

As you can see, the range of modifications of the model described in the article is relatively rich, and therefore there is definitely plenty to choose from. Now, having familiarized ourselves with the theoretical part, let’s proceed to the practical part - we’ll find out how to properly use the Malysh pump.

Features and operating requirements - how to use the Baby

Before you connect and start up your newly purchased unit, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the basic rules for its safe use. You should be aware of some restrictions - if any exist, then using the Baby in this case is strictly prohibited. So, all these restrictions are given below.

  1. First of all, the Baby cannot be used if its cord is damaged or if there is increased voltage in the network.
  2. It is also important that continuous operation is no more than 2 hours (unless otherwise provided by the design), and the unit must be periodically turned off for approximately 20 minutes.
  3. If the equipment is working, then under no circumstances should the liquid supply be shut off.
  4. Finally, the total daily operating time of the unit should be a maximum of 12 hours.

It is worth noting that all this is described in detail in the manufacturer’s instructions - be sure to study it in advance in order to avoid certain unforeseen consequences.

Preliminary preparation of the pump for operation

First of all, you must ensure that you have a flexible hose (made of plastic or rubber) with an internal diameter of at least 1.8 centimeters. If the product has a smaller diameter, then it should not be used for the pump, as it can create an excessive load on it. In addition, water can be supplied through pipes (metal or plastic), but, nevertheless, they will still have to be connected to the unit itself only through a flexible hose, the minimum length of which will be 2 meters.

Note! To connect the hose to the corresponding pump connection, you will need a clamp. If the equipment will be used in winter time, it is advisable to make a small hole (1.5 millimeters in diameter) in the hose near the body, thanks to which you will be able to prevent the water from freezing and ensure its unhindered outflow. Later, when summer comes, this hole can be sealed with something.

After this, you need to take a ten-meter nylon cord and secure it to the eyes of the unit (this cord is present in the basic configuration of the Baby). To increase the length, you can use wire - connect it with the same nylon cord. Under no circumstances should you screw an iron cable or wire directly to the unit body, otherwise the mounting holes may simply become unusable.

We continue to connect the Malysh pump ourselves. Note that you must determine in advance what the distance is between the water source and electrical outlet. It is this indicator that will affect the length of the cable that will be required to connect your pump to the power supply. The device comes with a cord, the length of which can vary between 6-40 meters, which you yourself may have noticed when studying average market prices and characteristics. To find out a more accurate cord length, you will need to, again, look at the manufacturer's instructions.

As a result, the following components must be connected to the pump:

  • nylon cord;
  • rubber/plastic hose;
  • electrical cable.

We recommend connecting all of them to each other using regular tape– wind it in increments of 10-20 centimeters. Typically, the first such connection should be located a maximum of 20 centimeters from the unit body.

Now let's look at how the Baby should be installed in a well.

We install the connected unit into the well

Let's start with the fact that the described pump inevitably vibrates during operation, and therefore may well come into contact with the walls of a small well or casing pipe, due to which the housing will sooner or later be damaged, and the equipment itself will simply fail. To avoid all this, we recommend putting a suitable rubber ring on the unit before immersing it in water - it will absorb future shocks and also play a role additional protection Baby.

When lowering the pump into the well, you must position it correctly - it is important that the device is positioned level and does not touch the walls. At the top of the well/well, it is necessary to install a bar, to which, in turn, a suspension made of an elastic but sufficiently durable material should be attached. Thanks to this suspension, vibrations during operation of the device will be noticeably reduced.

What should it be made of? The most popular options include a medical tourniquet and a piece of rubber hose. In this case, the upper end of the cable must be connected to the suspension to create the proper tension. As for electric cable, then excessive tension is contraindicated for him - it is necessary that he lies freely on the bar.

Note! The baby you just purchased is completely ready for use; you do not have to lubricate it or fill it before using it. If the unit’s protection class is 1, then additional grounding of the outlet will be required. Finally, the pump can be turned on directly after you immerse it in water.

If you plan to pump water from a shallow reservoir or pump out the previously mentioned flooded basement, then the device can be lowered to the bottom if you wrap it in thick fabric in advance or, alternatively, place a rubber sheet under the body.

How to ensure that the Baby works smoothly?

In order for the device to function smoothly and for as long as possible, you must monitor the voltage in the electrical network. If changes in electrical energy are observed, the pump must be turned off immediately. In addition, monitor the quality of the transported water, as sometimes the equipment becomes unusable due to the fact that particles of debris and sand get inside the mechanism.

It is generally accepted that such a problem can be solved quite simply - you just need to install a unit with an upper fence. But in reality, the pump can become clogged not only due to the fact that bottom sediments penetrate inside - dirty water is also a common cause of failure.

To protect the submersible device, we recommend purchasing and installing a filter - it will trap small particles, preventing them from penetrating into the tank itself. By using a filter, you will not only extend the operating life of the unit, but also ensure the supply of higher quality (as it is relatively clean from impurities) liquid.

Maintenance Features

So, in order for your Baby pump to last as long as possible, be sure to follow the conditions of its storage and use recommended by the manufacturer. Only in this case will it be guaranteed normal operation unit for the required 2 years. What is typical, neither in special care nor in complex equipment no pump needed, therefore correct Maintenance There shouldn't be any difficulty.

After you first install the device in a well, wait and let it work for several hours, then remove it and carefully examine it - look possible malfunctions. And if everything is normal with this, then the equipment can be loaded back and continued operation, allowing for prolonged immersion.

From time to time (approximately every three months, although if possible it is recommended to do this after every hundred hours of use), still inspect the device. If traces of friction are found on the body, we can safely talk about incorrect installation pump - during operation it interacts with the walls of the well. To avoid all this, try to position the unit very level, not forgetting about the previously mentioned rubber ring on the body.

If the inlets are clogged, clean them carefully, taking care not to damage the rubber valve. It is recommended to clean with a tool that has a blunt end. If you do not intend to use the equipment for the winter, remove it, wash it thoroughly and dry it. The pump should be stored as far as possible from any heating equipment; moreover, you should protect it from direct sunlight.

Note! If you followed all the manufacturer’s recommendations, but a breakdown still occurred due to reasons beyond your control, we recommend contacting your nearest service center.

The video below will tell you about possible way unit improvements.

How to make repairs correctly?

As we have already found out, the need for repairs often arises due to clogging, so the unit should be periodically disassembled and cleaned. An approximate sequence of the procedure is given below.

Step one. First, the pump is removed from the well and marks are made on its body to indicate the relative position structural elements. Thanks to this, further assembly upon completion of the repair will be noticeably easier.

Step two. After this, loosen each screw in turn that connects the housing elements to each other. During subsequent assembly, it is advisable to replace simple screws with others, for a hex key, or with bolts with perpendicular slots. To make loosening the screws easier, clamp the housing with a vise where there are ledges for the screws.

Step three. When the unit body has already been removed, the piston disc is installed. This point is extremely important, since installation must be carried out exclusively parallel to the saddle.

Important information! For the most accurate control of the parallelism of the installation of this disk, we recommend using a caliper.

A disassembled device can be cleaned and repaired. During subsequent assembly, you need to make sure that the holes match. To check the functionality of the unit, you can lower it into a bucket filled with water. It is important that the height of the stream that comes out of the corresponding pipe is about 30 centimeters.

As a small conclusion

As you can see, the Malysh pump is a convenient and relatively cheap unit, easy to install and operate. Of course, its power is low, and therefore a private house it will not completely provide water, but it is an ideal option for seasonal use, an excellent means for organizing watering of plants and water supply from shallow reservoirs. That's all, good luck with your work!

To ensure water supply in a household or summer cottage an electric pump is required. Among the large range of such equipment special attention deserves a pump baby who has a very good value technical characteristics and prices.

Baby submersible pumps have received wide recognition due to their compactness, reliability, and ease of operation. It can be used immediately after purchase - no additional installation or professional installation is required. In this article we will dwell in detail on its characteristics.

Scope of application

The baby water pump is used for the following purposes:

  • water supply to a home or cottage;
  • lifting water from a well, shallow well or open reservoir (river, lake, reservoir);
  • pumping out flooded premises (cellar, garage, etc.);
  • watering or irrigation of greenhouses, vegetable gardens, orchards or lawns.

So the baby submersible pump is universal device, which is indispensable both for a personal garden or summer cottage, and for a small farm. The designers even provided for the possibility of creating a pumping station based on this device, which will allow automatic water supply in the house.

Principle of operation

The Malysh submersible pump, as well as the Brook, has long been a name in our country. This is the name given to all small self-priming devices. And if previously they were produced exclusively in Russia (Malysh - Kirov, Bryansk, Livny), today Chinese analogues have appeared on the market.

This is a vibration-type device that operates using standard technology. The drive is connected to the power supply. It converts electrical energy into electromagnetic vibrations. Those are transferred to a special float valve, which acts on the membrane, forcing it to perform oscillatory movements. Thus, pressure is built up, allowing the liquid to be pumped.

The baby submersible vibration pump, like all similar devices, is “afraid” of overheating. To prevent such a situation, automation is installed on the unit, which monitors engine operation. If the water level drops below the device, the engine starts to idle and the automation turns it off.

Two types of “Malysh” pump designs

Electrical equipment is produced in two main configurations:

With top water intake

This design ensures that the suction valve is located at the top and the electric pump is located at the bottom. With this arrangement, the submersible pump has more opportunities for the baby to be constantly cooled. In addition, the silt deposits present at the bottom of the well are not absorbed.

With lower fence

The location of the valve and electric pump is opposite to the previous option. A baby pump with a lower intake requires more careful maintenance. It is necessary to constantly monitor the water level relative to the device.

It should be remembered that even short-term dry operation of the engine can cause overheating of the equipment, and, accordingly, its breakdown.

It is more practical to use the first type of equipment. If you have a low-yield well in which you need to install a “baby” close to the bottom with a lower liquid intake, then you should install a mechanical filter on it. This way, you can protect the device from silt deposits getting into it.

An electric pump with an upper intake not only does not suck silt and sand from the bottom of the well, but also eliminates turbidity of the water, and thereby improves its quality.

How to determine well flow rate

This is the main indicator that is used when preparing a well for delivery, and it makes it clear whether there is enough water for daily needs or not. If a professional company was involved in the drilling, this data is in the passport; if you do it yourself, you will have to determine it manually.

Flow is a dynamic value that varies depending on the time of year, amount of precipitation, and frequency of use. The average is usually calculated in order to be guided by it when choosing equipment.

To determine the flow rate, you need to calculate two marks - statically and dynamically. The first is the distance from the surface to the mirror in the absence of a fence for at least 10-12 days. The second is the level of water stabilization within several hours after pumping.

Considering that this parameter depends, among other things, on the intensity of the pump, measurements are made using both weaker and more powerful equipment.

In order to understand how flow rate is calculated, we will give a clear example.

The depth of the well is 100 meters, the filter zone (the maximum depth at which water is taken) is 90 meters. The statistical level (H3) is at 60 meters, respectively, the height of the water column in the shaft (H1) will be 40 meters (100 m - 60 m).

We pump out for an hour and measure how much we pumped out and what the dynamic level is (H2).

So, in an hour the pump pumped out 5 cubic meters, and the level dropped by 15 meters, respectively, the dynamic level will be 40 + 15 = 55 m.

Now we take the basic calculation formula:

Substituting these data into the formula, we get: 5 x 40 / (55 - 40) = 13.3 cubic meters/hour.

Device characteristics

The dimensions and performance of the baby pump determined its name. Compact dimensions allow the unit to be transported without problems passenger car. You can not only use it in your garden or summer cottage, but also take it with you on vacation. He good helper during the construction phase and irreplaceable equipment during a flood.

Deep well pump baby characteristics:

  1. The weight of the product is 3.5 kg.
  2. The device body is metal.
  3. The length of the grounded cable is 7 m.
  4. Connects to the network using a universal plug.

The device is sold ready to use. The consumer does not have to install it or add oil. After the electric pump is mounted on an unstable suspension and immersed in the well, it can immediately be turned on for operation.

Technical parameters of the classic model

To date, several types of “babies” have been developed, which differ in characteristics.

Classic pump baby specifications:

  1. Has a system of lower liquid intake.
  2. Rated pump power 245 W.
  3. Operates from a home electrical network (single-phase) with a voltage of 220 V and a frequency of 50 Hz.
  4. The maximum level of water rise is 40 meters.
  5. The average productivity of the device when raising the pumped water by 1 meter is 1050 liters per hour. Accordingly, when rising to the maximum height - 430 l/hour.
  6. To ensure long-term use, the unit operates continuously for only 2 hours. After this, you need to take a break for 20-25 minutes.
  7. The temperature of the pumped resource should not exceed + 35 0 C.
  8. Contamination of the water should not exceed 0.01% concentration of mechanical insoluble impurities.

The design of the baby pump allows it to be used to lift water from a well with a diameter of at least 10 cm, as well as from a well or open reservoir. The pressure created by the equipment is sufficient not only to pump liquid vertically, but also horizontally over a distance of 100-150 meters. Thus, it is possible to organize watering of the garden or pumping out a flooded room.

The classic model is not equipped with automatic protection against overheating, or a filter against contaminants. Therefore, to ensure long-term use of the device, it is necessary to monitor the duration of its continuous operation and not use any heavy pollution reservoir

Device Modifications

The electric pump of the “Malysh-M” series has all the characteristics of a classic product, only it is equipped with an upper liquid intake system. Manufacturers have released the “Baby-K” series. This is a baby pump, the technical characteristics of which are completely identical to the classic model, but additionally there is built-in automation that protects against overheating.

The pump diameter was changed in the Malysh-Z series. Due to this, the equipment can be used for low-yield wells with a diameter greater than 8 cm. The change in dimensions affected not only the design, but also the technical characteristics:

  • the electric pump together with the electric drive is placed in a special hermetic housing;
  • the nominal power of the device was reduced by the designers to 165 W (this is quite enough for this type of well);
  • when the unit is deepened to the maximum depth provided by the designers (20 meters), it can produce 0.432 cubic meters of water resource per hour.

With such compact dimensions and a weight not exceeding 3 kg, the drainage electric pump “Malysh-Z” is one of best options budget water supply from small wells. Manufacturers equip it with 30 meters of waterproof cable. The hose for this series of appliances must be ¾ inch in diameter.

The information we provide will allow you to choose the best baby submersible pump for yourself. Good luck!

VIDEO: How to install the “Malysh” submersible pump in wells

"Baby" is intended for household use, namely for lifting water from wells, boreholes and open reservoirs.

It is also suitable for drainage. The design of the submersible pump does not require complicated installation.

To get started, you need to install the unit in a well with minimum diameter 100 mm (for modification “Kid-3” – min Ø 80 mm). Then fix the pump at the required depth, taking into account maximum depth dive – 3 m.

After being connected to a 220 V home power supply, the pump is ready for use. The water pressure depends on the height of the supply ( maximum height- 40 m). On average, when delivering to a height of 20 m, the pump productivity reaches 0.43 m3/h (when operating without pressure - up to 1.5-1.8 m3/h, depending on the model).

Varieties

Vibration pump Malysh-K There are 2 types of design.

They differ in the location of the holes through which water is sucked in.

Submersible pumps trademark"Baby" can have:

  • lower water intake;
  • upper water intake.

The lower water intake has the following marks:

  • "Baby";
  • "Baby"(p);
  • "Baby-K."

Upper water intake for brands:

  • "Baby-M";
  • “Baby-M”(p);
  • "Baby 3".

The “Malysh” and “Malysh-M” models can have both an aluminum and a plastic case, the latter is indicated by the index (p); the “Malysh-3” model has an aluminum case. Additional automation with overheating protection is installed on submersible pumps supplied under the Malysh-K brand.

Models have class I protection against damage electric shock, if Class II is required, this must be specified when ordering.

Application area

The compact vibrating pump is suitable for autonomous water supply at sites with low water consumption.

It is suitable for providing water supply country houses and watering of summer cottages.

"Baby" is indispensable in rural areas, there he is able to solve a number of pressing problems:

  • establish a supply of drinking water to your home;
  • provide water supply to household plots and garden plots (the pump can be easily integrated into automatic systems watering, providing for irrigation and spraying of plantings);
  • pump out water when flooding the ground floors of estates and basements.

Specialist's note: Malysh pumps are not suitable for pumping out heavily contaminated water.

Which water intake should you prefer?

Vibrating pump Malysh-3 “Malysh-M” and “Malysh-3” with an upper water intake have a number of advantages over models with a lower intake, which makes it possible to recommend these units in most situations.

The main advantage of models with an upper intake (brands “Malysh-M” and “Malysh-3”) is the lower location of the engine.

This means that it is always in water, and therefore you don’t have to worry about cooling it. The second advantage of models of this type is that the suction holes are located above the bottom level and, therefore, most of the bottom impurities of sand and silt can be avoided.

But in the case of draining the basement, the advantage of the upper location of the intake holes becomes a disadvantage. After all, water can only be pumped up to the level of the suction holes.

In this case, models with lower water intake will come to the rescue. They should not be placed “nose” on the floor, as a blockage with subsequent breakdown of the pump is possible, but, nevertheless, such models will collect much more water.

You should remember that pumps with bottom water intake are sensitive to overheating, and therefore they should not be left unattended. It is advisable to immediately choose a model whose characteristics include thermal protection (brand “Malysh-K”).

Features of use

The rated power of the motors of the Malysh, Malysh-K and Malysh-M pumps is 245 W, but the Malysh-3 pump has only 165 W.

You need to remember this when choosing the diameter of the hose for your unit.

Check with technical specifications to obtain optimal device performance without overloading the motor.

Expert advice: Malysh submersible pumps are not designed to work in a horizontal position, so avoid this if you do not want to shorten the life of the device.

If you are using a model with a lower intake for water supply, then do not lower the pump to the very bottom of the well: place it half a meter from the bottom. Pumps of the Malysh brand can be used in open reservoirs, provided that the water temperature in them does not exceed 35°C.

Avoid running the motor “dry”, as this leads to its breakdown. To prevent the motor from overheating, it is recommended to turn off the pump for 15–20 minutes every 2–2.5 hours of operation (especially important for devices with bottom water intake).

Careful operation subject to simple rules- a guarantee of long-term and uninterrupted operation equipment.

The manufacturer advises you to contact the service under warranty in case of major repairs, for example, related to engine replacement.

But it is quite possible to replace failed valves at home. Spare parts of this kind are available to a wide range of consumers.

To increase the service life of the pump, you can additionally purchase a mechanical filter to protect the pump from contaminants leading to wear and tear of parts.

The simplicity and reliability of the design of the Malysh pump family are appreciated by the market, and affordable price adds additional attractiveness to the equipment.

Alexei 22.02.2015 Pumping stations

The Elektrodvigatel plant in the village of Bavleny, Vladimir region, has been producing the Malysh line of household pumps since the 50s of the last century. The enterprise itself was founded in the 30s as a machine and tractor station, then military products were manufactured there. Here we can rightly say that the quality of the products has been polished over decades.

Currently, a separate production of OJSC “HMS Household Pumps” has been separated from it, and numerous branches have been created.

They make a simple submersible pump for a well, and diesel units for backup power supply, and much more. All of them are distinguished by their ease of use, reliability, and affordable price.

A little about water supply

Residents in rural areas, owners of country houses and cottages, small farms widely use this water pump for various purposes:

  • pumping water from basements, cellars, areas;
  • water supply to houses and outbuildings;
  • watering vegetable gardens, flower beds, lawns, including as part of automatic systems;
  • care garden crops, spraying.

Advantages and features of Malysh products

The name of the product itself speaks of its compact size and light weight. The vibration submersible pump “Malysh” can be successfully used for lifting water from wells and for open reservoirs and wells. Unlike their Chinese counterparts, with the same specified characteristics, they actually pump much more water.

Several modifications of this equipment are available:

  • with top suction port;
  • with the bottom;
  • with thermal relay for switching off in case of overload;
  • for use in wells where the internal diameter of the casing is 80 mm or more.

When choosing a product with a lower water intake, you need to give preference to a model with a thermal relay or place it in a source of moisture in a horizontal position. In any case, we should not forget that it can only be used to pump clean water.

model Baby for a well

Let's look at the characteristics of this submersible well pump:

  • power 245 W;
  • maximum head 40 m;
  • productivity 0.43 cubic meters m/hour, falls when rising from depth;
  • water quality (clean with a temperature not exceeding 35°C);
  • cable length from 10 to 40 m;
  • weight 4 kg.

From these indicators it is clear that it is advisable to use it with low water consumption. To the undoubted positive qualities can be attributed to the low cost and ease of installation.

We do a comparative analysis of the model

All vibration pumps differ from others in their simplicity, reliability, versatility, and low price. They are ready for use immediately, do not require complex installation, practically do not require preventive maintenance, are mobile because they are lightweight, and economical because they consume only 0.2 kW to lift 10 m of water from 1 cubic meter. These include well-known domestic models: “Baby”, “Rucheek”, “Typhoon”, “Aquarius”. They all have approximately the same characteristics and a price of about $50. The same model can be manufactured at different factories in Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus.

Watch the video, features of use:

Their disadvantages are also similar. The principle of operation in them is the movement of the rod under the influence of an electromagnet, essentially vibration. As a rule, they cannot damage the well, but if its bottom is quicksand, then it will Negative influence on unstable soils. And in any case, when the equipment is located near the bottom, small particles of soil and sand rise and are sucked up by the device.

As a result, dirty water will flow from the tap. All of them have low productivity; this must be taken into account when choosing. When buying a pump for a well, you can safely choose the popular “Kid” model, since the price-quality ratio is good. This can be seen from the results comparative testing these products according to the following parameters:

  • high pressure, best productivity in liters per hour;
  • safe operation even with large voltage surges;
  • There is protection against dry running, it turns off when overheating, and when it cools down it turns on again;
  • good wiring insulation.

Consumer Reviews

Submersible view of the Malysh brand pump

Opinions of users of such equipment can differ significantly even for the same model. How it will perform, how smoothly it will work, depends on many factors: water quality, correct operation, regular use and many others.

But one thing is certain: vibration pumps occupy a significant segment in sales volume. And all because anyone can handle them, not only successfully maintain them, but even carry out simple repairs on their own.

If your requests are small, cash limited, then this suitable option. One should also take into account the fact that there are also low-quality fakes famous models, often of Chinese origin, domestic manufacturers of brands so beloved by the people warn us about this.

Conclusion

How to choose the right pumping equipment, advantages and disadvantages. Expert advice, consumer reviews

When choosing equipment for water supply, you need to understand many issues. What are the characteristics of your well: depth, water level and its changes according to the season, quality, soil condition. And most importantly, understand what exactly you want to build, what to get as a result.

Let's watch the video, good advice consumers:

If you have chosen a well as your water source, you may prefer a submersible well pump. Of all the variety, the most popular are units domestic production or models of Belarusian and Ukrainian assembly. Only you yourself can understand what exactly is right for you, based on your needs and capabilities. How necessary is the dry run protection feature for you? If the source has a decent depth, and you only water the garden and fill containers and do not encounter such a problem, then it is not worth overpaying for it.

When you have to periodically deal with flooding on a site, in a cellar or outbuildings, then automatic shutdown in case of overload is important and necessary. The same can be said about the choice of upper or lower liquid intake from the shaft. It is possible to simply place the device in a horizontal position. When purchasing equipment, everyone tries to choose it with more high performance. But having the same power, the models produce different pressure and will fill your container in different times. And if one has good indicators, then in your conditions they may be completely different.

Comparing “Rucheek” and “Malysh”, it can be noted that in their design they have shock absorbers made of natural rubber, which allows them to work reliably and stably. The case has rubber valve, which is structurally important, but at the same time vulnerable, and in the first place it is the cause of breakdowns. In all other respects, “Malysh” has a number of advantages over other models.
