Factory pavilions "Berendey" are made in three types for 16, 32, 46 families. They can be either stationary or mobile. Thus, a structure for 16 families can be transported on a car trailer. “Berendey” is assembled from 1, 2, 3, 4 plywood sections. The frame of each section is two-layer with foam between plywood sheets. One section includes 8 risers with external partitions. Each riser has 9 cassettes, which are designed to support two families, and it is also possible to place 2 nuclear units on the 9th level. Therefore, the Berendey pavilion is also used for bee breeding.

The equipment of the risers requires the presence of hinged doors (5 doors per riser). One door gives access to two cassettes. The door walls are transparent and equipped ventilation holes, allowing you to monitor families without disturbing them. Feeders are located on each door and serve as additional ventilation. Each of the 9 levels has a tap hole. An anti-varroa mesh is placed under all risers.

The cassette has robust construction and light weight (430 g without frames). It is calculated that the cassette will contain 8 frames (43.5 by 23 cm). When bees fill the frames with honey, the weight of one cassette reaches 12 kg.

The gap between the cassettes is maintained at 1.5 cm so that the bees cannot glue two cassettes located one above the other, which would make it difficult to remove them.

Stationary pavilion

Drawings must take into account a number of requirements:

  • match the size of the van, trailer and provide easy access to each hive;
  • provide the opportunity to equip household premises;
  • provide for internal heating and the use of thermal insulation materials;
  • organize lighting and ventilation.

The roof of the building is made both flat and sloping. Bearing structures for the roof are made from steel profiles or wooden planks with a thickness of at least 2 cm. An option with a folding roof is possible.

Pavilion with dimensions

The beekeeper's workplace can be located at the beginning of the van, in the center or at the end. But if the trailer was extended, so as not to create a load on the rear axle, the cabin is located at the beginning of the structure. Making the Berendey pavilion yourself

It is not easy to build a cassette pavilion for bees with your own hands, since you need to provide for a lot of nuances and subtleties. To prevent bees from interfering with each other and getting confused, beekeepers recommend not installing more than 20 compartments.
