When building a fence up to 2.0 m high, 6 or 9 hardware for metal (rarely for wood) are usually used per linear meter, depending on the number of lags - 2 or 3, respectively. Fastening is necessarily carried out in places of overlap, in addition, in areas with high wind loads, fixing from below can be done in each wave. If necessary, additional reinforcement of the structure, rivets are used. Hence: for fixing 1 m² of profiled sheet for the fence, from 3 + 3 = 6 to 3 + 5 = 8 self-tapping screws are used. The total number of hardware is calculated based on the length of the fence.

When using corrugated board as a facing material, the consumption of screws is determined taking into account the following information:

  • a sheet of 2.0 m is attached in 3 rows;
  • self-tapping screws are fixed through the corrugation in a checkerboard pattern;
  • in regions with strong winds, fastenings can be carried out in each arc.

The number of fasteners per 1 m² in this case is at least 6 pcs.

When constructing a garage or other outbuildings from a profiled sheet, self-tapping screws are fixed in each wave with a vertical step of 1.0 m. Consumption per square meter is approximately 10 pcs.

Regardless of the place of application, it is ultimately beneficial to fasten the corrugated board with high-quality self-tapping screws, and since they are not cheap, the calculation of the number of hardware must be approached seriously and responsibly.
