BHAGWAN SRI RAJNEESH (OSHO).

WHEN THE SHOES DON'T TITCH.

Talks about the stories of Chuang Tzu

INTRODUCTION

Half-jokingly, half-seriously, Bhagwan likes to say: “In this world there are only two infinite things - the compassion of the master and the stupidity of the student)” And he sits in his chair and with great patience and even greater love tries to help us free ourselves from the confusion of life in which we are so Sorry we're stuck.

We are still not fully computerized, we do not yet have the "brave" new world", as in Aldous Huxley's dystopia; the conditioned mind is not yet the only ruler of our existence. If it were so, then there would be no confusion. If confusion exists, it means that the heart and soul remain alive and want to be heard. And in This is hope: after all, it is the heart and soul that first of all sets the direction in the search for the truth, the final, “what is” by Thaddeus Golas.

But the mind remains a powerful ruler. Every parent, every teacher, every priest, every politician has worked hard to suppress the living and unpredictable facts of the heart and stifled them in favor of the more easily controlled mechanical mind. So we are divided, in conflict. And this is Bhagwan's concern - to reunite us, to make us one again.

Society gave his mind a system that pleased him, which he clung to, despite all the resistance from his heart and soul. In order to reunite us, Bhagwan's effort is to take us beyond mind, body and soul, any system, anything, so that we float, empty like that, into oneness with the empty blue sky.

Bhagwan does not give us any beliefs, dogmas, doctrines. He speaks of any spiritual system, known to the world, - about Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Tantra, Sufism, Hasidism, Judaism, Zen:

"No simple doctrine can be true. It may be true for some people, but for other people it will not be true. That is why there are so many doctrines in the world. There is Buddha, there is Jesus, there is Mohammed, such completely different people, and all are true.

I'm trying to do a whole new experiment by bringing you all together. This in itself is a learning experience for you.

If you've been listening to me for a few years, that's already a learning curve. It was meditation.

I give you a certain point of view: I talk about Patanjali and give you this point of view, create this structure in you, and the next day I will start talking about Tilopa and destroy this structure.

This is painful for you because you start clinging. When you create a structure, you begin to cling to it. and the moment I see that you have begun to cling to theories, I immediately introduce the opposite to destroy them.

Many times you will build a house and many times you will feel that order has come and I will again create disorder. What's the matter? The point is that one day you will become conscious, you will listen to me, but you will not create order, you will not create structure, because it is of no use: this person will destroy it again the next day!

You will simply listen to me without clinging to words, theories, dogmas. On the day when you can listen to me without creating a structure within you and I see that although you have listened to me there is emptiness, on that day I will do it."

When Your Shoes Don't Tightly Feel is Zen, but it is not an intellectual study of the principles of Zen as a religious system. No. This is an attempt by an enlightened master to help us move towards our inner not-self, our inner emptiness, in relation to the Zen situation as it was several thousand years ago, and us in our situation here and now. In this Bhagwan is unique. He talks about Zen and other religious systems, but only insofar as they actually have practical significance, with the help of which we can understand the conditioning of the mind and, by acting in a certain way, transcend. He is not interested in filling his mind with useless facts. He is interested in giving us ways in which the mind and its clinging can be destroyed, sooner or later.

1. WHEN THE SHOES DO NOT PINCH

The draftsman Hu could draw more perfect circles by hand than with a compass. His fingers made spontaneous shapes out of nowhere. His mind, meanwhile, was free and carefree about what he was doing. No devices were needed, his mind was completely artless and knew no obstacles.

So, when the shoes don’t feel too tight, the feet are forgotten; when the belt does not press, they forget about the stomach; when the heart is true, one forgets about pros and cons.

There are no efforts, no compulsions, no needs, no lures: then your affairs are under control. You are a free person.

Easy is correct. Start with the right thing and you will be relieved. Continue easy - and you're right. The right path - to move with ease - means to forget about the right path and that it is easy to move.

Zhuang Tzu is one of the rarest blossoms, even rarer than Buddha or Jesus: after all, Buddha and Jesus emphasize effort, and Zhuang Tzu emphasizes effortlessness. Much can be done with effort, but with effortlessness more can be done.

Much can be achieved with will, but much more can be achieved with lack of will. And no matter what you achieve with the help of your will, it will always be a burden for you, it will always be a conflict, internal tension, and at any moment you can lose it. It must be constantly maintained, and support requires energy - by maintaining it, you scatter yourself.

Only that which is achieved through effortlessness will never become a burden for you, and only that which is not a burden can be eternal; only that which cannot in any way be unnatural can remain with you forever.

Chuang Tzu says that the real, the divine, the existing is achieved by completely losing oneself in it. Even the effort to achieve this is an obstacle, because then you cannot lose yourself. Even the effort to lose yourself becomes an obstacle.

How can you make any effort to lose yourself? Every effort is born from the ego, and through effort it is strengthened. Ego is a disease, so all efforts should be given up completely, nothing should be done; you must lose yourself completely in the existing, you must become again like a small child, just born, not knowing what is right, not knowing what is wrong, not knowing any preferences. As soon as preferences come in, as soon as you know that this is right and that is wrong, you are already sick and you are far from reality.

A child lives naturally, he is total, he makes no effort, because making an effort means fighting with yourself: part of you is “for” and part of you is “against”, hence the effort.

Remember, you can achieve a lot, especially in this world you can achieve a lot through effort, because effort is aggression, effort is violence, effort is competition. But in the other world nothing can be achieved through effort, and those who begin with effort must eventually give it up.

Buddha worked for 6 years, constantly meditating and concentrating - he became an ascetic, he did everything that can be done by a human being: not a single stone was left unturned, he put his whole being on the line, but it was an effort, in this there was ego - and he lost.

Nothing fails like the ego in the Ultimate; nothing is as successful as the ego in this world. In the world of matter, nothing is as successful as the ego. In the world of consciousness, nothing loses like the ego. The case is exactly the opposite, and this is how it should be, since the dimensions are opposite.

The draftsman Hu could draw more perfect circles by hand than with a compass. His fingers made spontaneous shapes out of nowhere. His mind, meanwhile, was free and carefree about what he was doing. No devices were needed, his mind was completely artless and knew no obstacles.

Buddha lost absolutely: after 6 years he was completely disappointed, and when I say completely, I really mean completely. There was not the slightest hope left; he became completely hopeless. In such hopelessness, he abandoned all efforts. He threw away the world, he left his kingdom - everything that belonged to this visible world, he left, rejected. Now, after six years of intense effort, he also left behind everything that belonged to the other world. It was in a complete vacuum, empty. That night he slept in a completely different sleep, because the ego was not there. Another structure began to grow because there was no effort. That night a different existence happened to him, since there were no dreams.

If there is no effort, nothing is incomplete, then there is no need for dreaming. A daydream always exists to complete something: something left unfinished during the day will be completed in a daydream, as the mind has a tendency to complete everything. Effort is put into many things, and if they remain unfinished, dreaming is necessary.

When there is a desire, there is also a leap towards a dream, since to desire means to dream: a dream is the shadow of desire.

That night, when there was nothing left to do - this world was already useless and now the other world was also useless - all motivation to move ceased, there was nowhere to go and there was no one to go. That night sleep became samadhi. he became satori, he became the Ultimate that can only happen to a person. That night the Buddha blossomed, and by morning he became enlightened. He opened his eyes, looked at the last star disappearing in the sky, and everything was there.

It was always there, but he wanted it so badly that he couldn't see it. It was always there, but he moved so much with his desire into the future that he could not look at the here-and-now. That night there was no desire, no purpose, nowhere to go and no one to go, all effort disappeared. Suddenly he became aware of himself, suddenly he became aware of reality as it is.

Chuang Tzu says from the very beginning: don't make any effort. And he is right, because you will never make such a total effort as the Buddha did; you will never be so frustrated that the effort falls away on its own. - it will always be incomplete, and your mind will always continue to say: “a little more - and something will happen, one more step, the goal is close, why did you become depressed? You just need a little more effort, since the goal is getting closer every day ".

Because of. that you will never make such an absolute effort, you will never become completely hopeless. And you can make an effort with half your heart for many lifetimes - this is what you did in the past. It is not the first time that you are here before me, it is not the first time that you are here making the same effort to understand the truth, the real: you have done this many, many times, a million times in the past, but you are still full of hope.

Chuang Tzu says that it is better to give up effort at the very beginning. It must be discarded: either you discard it at the beginning or poll it at the end, but the end may not be so soon! So there are two ways: either make a total effort... so total that all hope is destroyed and you come to the understanding that nothing can be achieved through effort, that there will not be even the slightest fragment left somewhere in the unconscious that continues to say: do it a little more and it will be achieved... Either make a total effort, and then it will throw itself away, or make no effort at all. Just accept the whole thing, don't get involved in it at all.

Remember one thing: you cannot get out of it until it is completed - once you have entered, it must be completed, because the mind has a tendency to complete everything, and not only the human mind. but even in the minds of animals. If you draw half a circle without completing it and a gorilla comes and sees it, then if there is a piece of chalk he will immediately complete it.

Your mind, as such, has a tendency to complete: anything incomplete will create tension in you. If you want to cry and cannot, then there will be tension. If you want to laugh and you cannot, then there will be tension. If you want to be angry and you cannot, then there will be tension. This is why you are sick for so long: everything is left unfinished!

You have never laughed totally, you have never cried totally, you have never been totally angry, you have never totally hated, you have never loved totally. Nothing was done completely - everything was not completed. Nothing is total and it goes on dragging on, so there are always many things in your mind. That's why you feel so sick when you are at rest: you cannot feel at home.

Chuang Tzu says: It is better not to start, because once you have started, it must be completed. Understand this and do not get involved in a vicious circle. That's why I say that Chuang Tzu is a rare flowering, rarer than Buddha and Jesus: because he achieved simply through understanding.

For Zhuang Tzu there is no method, no meditation. He says: just understand the factuality of it. You were born. How much effort did you make? You are breathing. How much effort did you make to breathe? Everything moves on its own, so why worry? Let life float on its own, then you will be in permission. Don't be afraid and don't try to swim against the current, don't even try to swim - just go with the flow, let the flow take you where it goes. Be a white cloud floating in the sky - no purpose, it goes nowhere, just floats. To float like this is the ultimate flowering. So the first thing to understand about Zhuang Tzu, before we come to the sutras, is that one must be natural and one must avoid anything unnatural, do not do anything that is unnatural. Nature is enough, you cannot add anything to it, but the ego says: no, you can improve nature. This is how all cultures exist.

Any attempt to improve nature is culture, and all cultures are like diseases: the more cultured a person is, the more dangerous he is.

I heard that one hunter, a European, got lost in an African forest. Suddenly he came out to several huts. He had never heard of a village existing in such a virgin forest. It wasn't on any map.

So he approached the chief of this village and said: “What a pity that you are lost to civilization.” The leader said: “No, it’s not a pity at all, we were always afraid that we would be discovered: as soon as civilization comes, we will be lost.”

Nature is lost as soon as you make an effort to improve it, because that means you are trying to improve God. All religions are trying to do this - to improve God.

Chuang Tzu is not a fan of this. He says that nature is the ultimate, and this ultimate nature he calls Tao . Tao means that nature is final and cannot be improved. If you try to improve it, you will cripple it. This is how we cripple every child.

Every child is born in Tao, then we cripple him with society, civilization, culture, morality, religion... We cripple him from all sides. Then he lives, but he is not alive.

I heard a little girl come to her friend's birthday party. She was still small - only 4 years old. She asked her mother: “Mom, when you were alive, did you also have such parties and dances?”

The more culture and civilization, the more dead you are. If you want to see for real dead person who still continues to live, go to the monk in the monastery, go to the priest in the church, go to the Pope in the Vatican. They are not alive, they are so afraid of life, so afraid of nature that they suppress it everywhere. They are already in their graves.

You can decorate a grave, you can even build a marble tomb, but the person inside is dead.

A drunkard was passing through a cemetery and saw a beautiful tomb. He looked at the name stamped on it. It was the tomb of the famous Rothschild family. He laughed and said: “These Rothschilds know how to live!”

Culture kills you, culture is a killer, culture is a slow poison, it is suicide.

Chuang Tzu and his old master Lao Tzu is against culture. They are for nature, pure nature. The trees are in a better position than you. Even the birds, even the fish in the river are in a better position because they are more alive, they are dancing with the rhythm of nature. You have completely forgotten what nature is, you have rejected it to the very root. And if you want to reject nature, you must start by rejecting sex, because all nature grows out of it. All nature is overflowing with sexual energy and love.

Birds sing, trees bloom - all this is exploding sexual energy. Flowers are sexual symbols; birdsong is sexual: the whole Tao is nothing but sexual energy: all nature multiplies, loves itself, moves towards ever deeper ecstasies of love and existence.

If you want to destroy nature, reject sex, reject love, create moral concepts around life. These moral concepts, however beautiful they may be, will be like marble tombs, and you will be inside them. Some drunkard may think that you know what life is and how to live, but someone who is in his state of consciousness is not even in a state to call you alive.

Your morality is a kind of death: before. just as death will kill you, society will kill you. That's why Chuang Tzu's message is one of the most dangerous, the most revolutionary, the most rebellious, because he says: "Follow nature!" And don't impose any purpose on nature. Who are you to create goals or proposals? You are just a tiny particle, an atomic cell. Who are you to force the whole to move according to you? This is the most dangerous thing for religious people - for those people who are moralistic puritans. This is the most dangerous message. It means: destroy all obstacles, allow nature to pour out, and this is dangerous.

I heard that one senior nurse was inducting a new nurse at the hospital who had just come from college. She took her around the hospital to show her everything. She showed her the departments: “This is the cancer department, this is the tuberculosis department,” etc. Then she came into a large room and said: “Look and remember carefully, since this is the most dangerous department.”

The new sister looked, but could not see what the danger was. Then she asked: “What’s the matter? Why is this department the most dangerous? Even in the cancer department you didn’t say that it was dangerous.”

The elder sister laughed and said: “These people are almost healthy, that’s why this is the most dangerous department. So be careful - health is always dangerous.”

The priests are afraid of health, because in their eyes health is immoral. You may have heard of one thinker of this century who was famous in his time - Count Kaiserling. He was thought of as a great religious thinker and wrote in his diary: “Health is the most immoral thing.” Because health is energy, and energy is pleasure, energy is love, energy is sex, energy is everything that is natural. Destroy the energy, make it weak and dull.

Why do so many people fast? Only in order to destroy energy, only in order to prevent such an increase in energy that it becomes overflowing.

Religious people have always thought that health is dangerous. Then being unhealthy becomes a spiritual goal.

I repeat again - Chuang Tzu is a great rebel. He says: "The nature, the energy, the ecstasy that comes from being overflowing with it is enough. Then balance happens spontaneously." There is no need for effort. So much beauty happens in nature without any effort: the grove is beautiful without any effort, the cuckoo continues to sing without any effort... look at the deer - alive, full of energy, fast; look at the hare, so conscious that even Buddha can feel jealous.

Look at nature, everything is so perfect. Can you improve the rose? Can you somehow improve nature? Only the person has become abnormal somewhere. If a rose is beautiful without any effort on its part, why can’t a person be like that? If the stars remain beautiful without any effort, without any “Yoga Sutras” of Patanjali, why can’t a person be like that? Man is as much a part of nature as the stars. Look at nature, everything is so perfect.

That is why Zhuang Tzu says: “Be natural and you will flourish.” If this understanding enters you deeper and deeper, then all efforts will become meaningless, then you will not constantly prepare for the future, then you live here and now, then this movement is everything, then this moment is eternity. And the essence of Buddha is already present, you are already Buddha. The only reason you are losing it is that you are not giving it a chance to blossom because you are attached to your own projects.

The flower blooms without any effort, since energy is not dissipated in any projects: the flower does not plan the future, it is here and now. Be like a flower, be like a bird, be like a tree, a river or an ocean, but don't be like a man, because man has become wrong somewhere.

Nature and being natural - effortlessly natural, spontaneously natural - this is the essence of all the teaching that Zhuang Tzu offers.

We will now move on to his sutra. Listen to every word as deeply as possible, because your mind will create obstacles, your mind will not allow you to listen. The mind is the society within you. Society is very cunning: it is not only outside you - it has penetrated inside you. This is what your mind is and this is why all those who know are against the mind and for nature: because the mind is an artificial thing introduced into you by society.

So when you listen to Zhuang Tzu, your mind will create blockages, your mind will not want to listen, because what Zhuang Tzu says is against the mind. If you allow, if you put aside the mind and allow it to penetrate you, then the very listening will become meditation, the very listening will transform you. You don't have to do anything else, just listen.

Zhuang Tzu believes in understanding, not meditation. And if you say that you should meditate, it is only because understanding is, I feel, very difficult for you. Meditation will not take you to the goal; no method can take you to the goal. There is no method, no technique. Meditation will only help you understand, it will not lead you to the truth, it will only destroy the mind, and then when the truth is there you can see it.

Hu, a draftsman, could draw more perfect circles by hand than with a compass.

Chuang Tzu speaks of a draftsman named Hu who could draw a more perfect circle by hand than with a compass. Indeed, you need a compass because you are afraid, but you yourself can draw a perfect circle without any help.

In nature, circles exist everywhere, everything moves in a circular path. The circle is the easiest phenomenon of nature, and no compass is used. The stars do not consult the map, they do not carry a compass with them, and they continue to move in a circle. If you give them compasses and maps, I'm sure they will get lost - they won't know where to go or what to do.

You must have heard the story of the centipede? The centipede walks in a hundred yogas. Is this a miracle? The toad, the philosopher, saw the centipede, watched it and was very alarmed: it is so difficult to walk even on four legs, but the centipede walks on a hundred legs. This is a miracle! How does the centipede decide which leg to move first, and which one to move next, or which leg to move? A hundred legs! So, the toad stopped the centipede and asked a question: “I am a philosopher, and I am puzzled by you. A problem has arisen that I cannot solve: how do you walk? How do you manage all this? It seems impossible!”

The centipede said, “I have been walking all my life, but I have never thought about it. Now that you asked about it, I will think about it and then answer you.”

For the first time, the thought entered the consciousness of the centipede: “Indeed, the toad is right - which leg should you move first?” The centipede stood motionless for several minutes, staggering, and fell. And she said to the toad: "Please don't ask the other centipedes this question. I've walked all my life and never had any problems, and now you've completely killed me. I can't move. And move a hundred legs! How can I decide? !"

Life moves in a perfect circle, life moves perfectly, there are no problems. Chuang Tzu says of Hu that he could draw more perfect circles by hand than with a compass. You need a compass because you are unsure of life; you need morals, rules, principles, Bibles, Qurans, Gitas to guide you as you are not sure about inner strength. This is your life. And these Bibles. The Korans, Gitas have created for you the same position as the toad created for the centipede.

There are so many rules to follow, so many principles to obey - so many moral concepts. You impose so much on yourself that your inner life cannot be spontaneous. .They flew out lost not because of some evil forces, but because of those doing good. It is not the devil who leads you to bad things, but your priests, your leaders, your so-called saints.

It is very difficult. It's easy to believe in the devil, so you shift all responsibility onto the devil. There is no devil, I tell you. And this is also what Chuang Tzu is talking about.

Chuang Tzu says there is no God, there is no devil, only life exists. The priests created God, and the priests created the Devil, because the priests create the difference between wrong and right. And when distinction comes into your mind, what is right and what is wrong, you will never be right, you will never be at peace, you will never feel relaxed, you will always be tense. And whatever you do will be wrong, because difference creates confusion.

The whole life is so silent and meditative, why do you need so much effort? It's because of the difference.

“Hu, a draftsman, could draw more perfect circles by hand than with a compass.”

If you are not self-aware, your life moves automatically. This compass is self-consciousness: you do something being self-conscious and you are in trouble. You say, you chat with friends all day - and there are no problems. But if I tell you to come out here and speak from this chair to the friends who have gathered here, you will find yourself in the same position as the centipede. And you talked all your life, and there were no problems.

Why did this problem occur? The problem has arisen because you are now self-aware. Now so many people are looking at you, they are watching you, that now you cannot be at peace and spontaneous. Now you design, now you plan, now you want to please people. Whatever they say must now impress them - you are now self-aware.

Otherwise, everyone is a talker, a born talker. People carry on and there are never any problems. But as soon as you put them on the lectern and tell them to speak for the audience, something immediately goes wrong. What's wrong? Nothing has changed, but self-consciousness has entered and self-consciousness is the problem.

"His fingers made spontaneous shapes out of nowhere. His mind, meanwhile, was free and carefree about what he was doing."

“No devices were needed, his mind was completely artless and knew no obstacles.” "His fingers made spontaneous shapes out of nowhere."

Nowhere means everywhere; nowhere means complete emptiness; nowhere means the final source, the very basis of life.

Where does your such perfect breathing come from? Chuang Tzu says that you do not breathe, “it” breathes you. You're not breathing, so what should you do about it? Nothing. I breathe - this is an incorrect remark; it would be better to say: nature, “it” breathes me. Then the whole image changes, then the whole emphasis is on nature, and not on you, not on it, not on “it”, on the enormity, on the infinite that surrounds you, on the basis, on the basis itself - “it” breathes you.

When you fall in love, are you really the one falling in love, or is “it” falling in love through you? When you are angry, are you angry? Because when there is anger, you are not, when there is love, you are not. In anger, in love, in any passionate feeling you are not. In something living you disappear: then “it” exists - the Tao.

So, a man of Tao is one who has come to understand that the Self is the most useless thing. It only creates problems - nothing more - and he throws it away.

There is actually no need to drop, once he has understood, it is dropped - there is no 'I'. "It" lives through him. Then there is no burden and no tension and no worry; then he becomes a child; then his mind is free and carefree.

You can't do anything carefree. Whatever you do, the ego comes in, the worries come in - and then there is worry.

Look at this phenomenon: a surgeon operates, and he is a perfect surgeon. But if his wife is on the operating table, he cannot operate; his hands are shaking. At other times he works like a perfect mechanism, but when his wife is on the table, he cannot operate - some other surgeon is needed.

What's happened? Concern has entered. There was no concern for other patients, he was withdrawn. He wasn't preoccupied in any way, he was just a surgeon, a natural force that worked. There was no reason in it, it was perfect. But now his wife is there, concern has entered: will the operation be successful or not? Am I capable of saving my wife or not? Now there are problems; his mind is preoccupied - and then his hands tremble.

Your whole life is a trembling, because... you have so many worries; and then you cannot draw a perfect circle.

And the way you write... There is a science about that. how to read what you've written and, with it, read your mind. There is a certain basis for this, because when you write, this includes your trembling. And when you sign up, you are most concerned. Then your trembling is present, and with the help of a magnifying glass this trembling can be observed and noted.

This trembling can show a lot about you, because... whatever you do, you do it. It carries you, it bears testimony about you. Just looking at what you've written can reveal a lot about your personality.

If Buddha signs, it happens in a completely different way. Then there will be no jitter, because... no worries. And just by what is written, you can tell whether it belongs to Buddha or not.

Whatever you do, your trembling follows you like a shadow. Who is creating this trembling? You come to me and say: “I am not at peace, my mind is not silent.” How can this happen before you drop your worries? You want your mind to be steady, you want your mind to be made silent, pure, clear. This is impossible without throwing away worries, because... the shaking will remain. They are born out of caring.

The only thing that can be done without changing your concern is to squeeze all the shaking inside. So if you watch, you will feel that on the surface everything is serene. it's cold, but deep inside you are trembling, constantly trembling. Deep inside, the fear and trembling continue. They are born out of caring. What's the concern?

It's about the impression you make on others. You are so worried that you cannot live at all. Everyone is interested in what others think of them, and this is true of everyone. They worry about you, and you worry about them. But why are you so worried about others?

One day it happened that Mullah Nasreddin was walking along the road. It was a deserted road, the sun had set and darkness was approaching. Suddenly he felt fear, as a group of people was moving towards him, and he thought: “These are apparently bandits, robbers, and there is no one here, only me.” So he jumped over the wall that was nearby and found that he was in a cemetery. There was a freshly dug grave, so he climbed into it, somehow calmed down, closed his eyes and waited for people to pass by so he could go home.

But people also saw that someone was there. Mullah jumped suddenly, so they were scared too. What's the matter? Is someone hiding there or doing something bad? And they all jumped over the wall. Now the mullah was sure that he had made the right conclusion and was right: they - dangerous people. "Now nothing can be done, I must pretend to be dead." And he pretended. He stopped breathing because you can't rob or kill a dead person. But the people saw the man jump, so they became very worried. What is he doing?

They crowded around the grave, looked into it and asked: “What happened? What are you doing? Why are you here?”

Mulla opened his eyes, looked at them and was convinced that there was no danger. He laughed and said, "So there is a problem, a very philosophical problem. You are asking me why I am here, and I would like to ask why you are here. I am here because of you, and you are here because of me!"

"His fingers made spontaneous shapes out of nowhere. His mind, meanwhile, was free and carefree about what he was doing."

Do it! Don't be concerned about what you are doing - do it with such soul that the doing itself becomes bliss. And don't think about great things: there is no thing that is great or small. Don't think that you are doing great things, playing great music, painting great pictures, that you are becoming Picasso or Van Gogh or anyone else - a great writer, Shakespeare or Milton.

There is nothing - neither great things nor small things.

There are great people and small people, but things are neither great nor small. And great people are those who bring their greatness into every little thing they do; they eat with greatness, they walk with greatness, they sleep with greatness. They bring a quality of greatness to everything. What is greatness? Nature... nothing is more majestic than nature.

Eat like an emperor. This does not depend on the quality of the food - it depends on the eater, on how he celebrates the food. Even with just bread, butter and salt you can be an emperor

It so happened that Epicurus had a garden, very close to Athens... He was also one of the rarest people, just like Chuang Tzu. He did not believe in God, he did not believe in anything, since belief is nonsense. Only stupid people believe. A person's understanding is faith, not belief. Faith is something completely different. Faith means believing life, believing it so absolutely that you are ready to go with it anywhere.

He had a small garden and lived there with his students. People thought that he was an atheist, an immoral person. He did not believe in God, he did not believe in the scriptures, he did not believe in any temple, he was an atheist. But he lived so majestically! His life was excellent, magnificent, although he had nothing, although they were very poor.

The king heard about them and wanted to see how they lived and how they could be happy without beliefs.

If you cannot be happy even with a belief in God, how could these people be happy without God?

So one evening he went to visit the garden of Epicurus. He was truly surprised, shocked - it was a miracle: they had nothing, almost nothing, but they lived like emperors. They lived like gods. Their whole life was a holiday. When they went to the river to swim, it was not just a swim, it was a dance with the river, it was tuning in with the melody of the river. They sang and danced and swam and jumped and dived.

Their food was a holiday, a feast, but they had nothing - only bread and salt, not even butter. But they felt such gratitude that just to be was already enough; nothing more was needed.

This made a very big impression on the king, and he asked Epicurus: “Next time I come, I would like to bring you something as a gift. What would you like?”

Epicurus said: “Give us time to think, we never thought that anyone could give us gifts - because we have so many gifts from nature. But if you insist, then bring a little oil and nothing more. Just do this.” .

Life can be a celebration if you know how to live without worries. Otherwise life becomes a long protracted illness and suffering that ends only in death.

"His mind, meanwhile, was free and carefree By about what he did. No devices were needed - his mind was completely artless and knew no barriers."

You need to learn everything, because you have completely forgotten nature. Now psychologists say that there must be training in love, since people are forgetting more and more how to love. A lot of literature has appeared such as “How to love?”, “The art of loving”. People have completely forgotten about sexual orgasm, sexual ecstasy. No animal needs any training! Even the trees seem more intelligent than you.

Everything needs to be learned, even the very basis of life needs to be learned. This means that we are somehow unrooted, we have lost contact with nature, there is a gap.

And if you learn how to love, your love will become false. True love should be spontaneous. How can you learn love? If you are trained, then you will act according to the rules and there will be no natural flow. Nature does not flow according to your rules, it has its own rules. You just have to be with it and it will start functioning.

The day is not far when we will teach people how to breathe. It's funny to you now, but if you went back in time and asked Epicurus, "Will there ever be a time when people need to be taught how to achieve orgasm?" he would have laughed. Animals achieve it without any training, without Masters, without Johnsons and Kinseys. Animals simply love, love happens naturally.

Now there are clinics in the United States that teach people how to achieve orgasm. And if you achieve orgasm through training and study, remember well that this is not a real orgasm. After all, when you control it, when you control it, then something in you forces it, and orgasm happens only in permission - and permission cannot be taught.

You can't teach people how to fall asleep. If you try to teach, then you will disturb their sleep, because if they experience anything, it will be all excitement. You just fall asleep, you just put your head on the pillow and fall asleep. If you do something, then the very doing will be non-doing. Life is like a dream, life is like breathing.

“No devices were needed - his mind was completely artless and knew no barriers.”

When your mind is pure, there is clarity in it, you don't have to follow any rules, you don't have to carry any scriptures in your head - you just see. Everything is transparent because you are clear.

So, when the shoes don’t pinch, they forget about the legs; when the belt doesn’t pinch, they forget about the stomach; and when the heart is true, pros and cons are forgotten.”

Remember, this is one of the greatest mantras: “When the shoes don’t squeeze, the feet forget.”

When you are healthy you don't know anything about your body, the body is forgotten. When there is any disease, then only you cannot forget about the body. Do you know that there is some kind of head without a headache? When you have a headache. you cannot forget about the head. When shoes are tight, then they are uncomfortable. When you don't have any headache. where is the head then? You completely forget about it. Everything that is healthy is forgotten, but everything that is sick is remembered - it becomes a constant note in the mind, a constant tension of the mind.

The perfect man of Tao does not know himself; you know because you are sick. It is a disease, a substance disease, because you have to completely remember that you are somebody. This shows that you are deeply worried (anxiety is a disease). Illness creates the ego, but a perfectly healthy natural being forgets everything completely. Such a person is like a cloud, a breeze, a rock, a tree, a bird, but never like a person. It doesn’t exist, because it’s only about illness, like a wound. need to remember.

Remembering is a safety mechanism: if there is a thorn in your foot, you must remember it. The mind will return to this constantly, since the thorn needs to be pulled out. If you forget about it, the thorn will remain, and this is dangerous because it can poison the whole body. When you have a headache, the body says: remember about it, you need to do something. If you forget about her. the headache can become dangerous. When there is some disease, the body tells you: something is wrong, it attracts your attention.

But when the body is healthy, you forget about it; you become incorporeal if the body is healthy. And this is the only definition of health: health is when the body is not aware. If there is even the slightest awareness of the body, then the conscious part is not healthy.

The same applies to the mind: when your consciousness is healthy, the ego does not exist - you know nothing about yourself. You don't remind yourself that "I am something", you just relax. You are there, but "I" is not. It is just beingness, but there is no self, no crystallized ego, no self.

“So, when the shoes don’t pinch, they forget about the legs; when the belt doesn’t pinch, they forget about the stomach; when the heart is true, they forget about the pros and cons.”

This is one of the deepest things to remember. When the heart is true, all pros and cons are forgotten. When the heart is untrue, sick, then you will constantly remain burdened, restless: this is right, and that is wrong, and the right must be followed, the wrong must be avoided. The whole life becomes a struggle: how to avoid the wrong and how to achieve the right. But this is not the way to achieve the right one! This is the way to lose it forever.

Look... you have anger, sex, greed. If you say that anger is bad, then you will spend your whole life in a state of anger. Sometimes you will be angry and sometimes you will be angry because of your anger - that will be the only difference. Sometimes you will be angry, and when the anger goes away, you will be angry because of anger. You call it repentance. And then you decide never to be angry again, but you will become angry again, because both states are anger. Sometimes you are angry at someone, sometimes you are angry at yourself for being angry.

If you are against sex and say it is bad - as the whole world says - then you will be sexual, and after the sexuality has passed you will feel guilty. In this guilt you will ruminate and think about sex again and again, it will become a state of mind. So sometimes you will be physically sexual and sometimes you will be mentally sexual, that is, sometimes sexual in the body and sometimes sexual in the mind. Once you have created difference, once you have created conflict, you will be divided.

Once I visited Mullah Nasreddin. A beautiful widow came to see him and ask his advice. She said: “I am in trouble and you must help me. I love a very handsome man, he is younger than me, but very poor, and an old man, very rich and terribly ugly, loves me. What should I do? Who should I marry? "

Mulla Nasrudin closed his eyes, thought and said: “Marry a rich man and be kind to the poor.”

That's how all conflicts arise, that's how you choose both extremes. Then you become divided. When you say this is right and that is wrong, you are already divided and your whole life will be a conflict - you will move from one extreme to the other, like a pendulum.

Don't be against anything. Why? Because when you are against something, it means that deep down you are for it, otherwise why be against it? A person who is not angry deep down will not mind anger. Why does he need this? A person who is not greedy deep down will not be against greed. Why would he be against her? For him there are no problems, no choice, he makes no distinctions.

Remember: greedy people are always against greed, sexual people are against sex, angry people are against anger, cruel people are against cruelty. Then what are they doing? They create the opposite goal.

If you are cruel, non-cruelty will become the goal. How does a cruel person become non-cruel? What is he doing? There is only one possibility: he will be cruel to himself, that's all. What else can he do? A cruel person... how can he be non-cruel? An angry person... how can he not be angry?

And if an angry person cultivates non-anger, in his non-anger there will also be anger, since you cannot cultivate anything without you entering into it: anger will enter into non-anger, cruelty will enter into non-cruelty.

If you look around, if you observe correctly, you cannot find more cruel people than those. who has made non-cruelty his goal. And you cannot find more sexual, perverted people than those who have made brahmacharya, celibacy, their goal.

Chuang Tzu says: Don't discriminate, otherwise you will become divided. Once you are divided, you are two, you are split. A split person cannot be natural. Nature exists as a unity, it is a deep harmony, there are no conflicts in it at all. Nature accepts everything: there is no choice, it is choiceless permission. Don't choose. And this is the miracle: if you do not choose to be against anger, then when anger comes, you are simply angry. Don't choose against anger. When anger comes, just be angry, and when it goes, let it go.

Don't repent, don't let it continue in your mind, don't give it duration, don't be against it. When anger comes, it comes. What can you do? When he doesn't come, he doesn't come. You have no choice.

Then a miracle happens: without choice you become so alert that your energy is no longer divided, and when the energy is undivided it is so strong, so great, that anger becomes impossible because anger is part of weakness. Remember this... the weaker you are, the more angry you are; The stronger you are, the less angry you are.

If you are absolutely strong, then there will be no anger. Remember this... the weaker you are, the more greedy you are - indeed, the weak must be greedy to protect themselves, and the stronger you are, the less greedy you are.

When the energy in you is total, indivisible, not split, then you are unity. Greed disappears because greed belongs to a weak mind, a split mind. and when you are split, there will be anger and you will fight against it, and even more split will be created, and even more energy will be dissipated, and you will become filled with inner disorder, anarchy, and not a single harmonious note anywhere - everything will be out of tune .

And the more efforts you make to harmonize all this, the more trouble there will be, since you have lost the first step and will continue to lose it until the very last.

The first step is that when the heart is true, pros and cons are forgotten. So what to do? Forget the pros and cons and let your heart calm down. One thing is certain: you fight against anger so for a long time, but are still angry, so try Chuang Tzu’s method. You won't lose anything.

You tried to be non-sexual - and you remained sexual, on the contrary: you became more perverted, sex became more poisonous. So try Chuang Tzu's method - you will not lose anything.

Be sexy when sex comes. Just like when hunger comes, you eat food, so when sex comes, be sexy, don't make any choice, don't say it is good or bad, accept it, it is part of nature. And suddenly a moment will come when you will be in Oneness and sex will automatically transform into love, because a person who is in oneness... Try to understand what this oneness means. Every man and every woman is bisexual, every man is both a man and a woman inside. Nobody is just a man or a woman, they can't be like that, since one parent was always a man and the other was a woman, and you carry both, half and half. You are half your mother and half your father, so you are both man and woman—half and half.

This is a deep cleavage, and if you create more cleavage, the cleavage will expand more and more. Drop all splits, do not create any struggle, do not choose. Be angry - and accept it; be sexy - and embrace it; be greedy - and accept it. What else can you do? Nature will give it all to you, so accept it with all the consequences.

If you are angry, then someone else will be angry - accept the anger and the consequences. Then your splitting is discarded and then again and again your inner bisexuality becomes harmony, creates a circle, an internal orgasm occurs - your masculine and feminine principles meet inside. And when they meet inside, you have become one - now a new being has been born.

This unity has love as its shadow. You cannot love, your love is a façade, a lie, your love is just a trick, your love is just to get sex. That's why when you get sex, love disappears. As soon as you have sexual intercourse with a woman or a man, love disappears. The energy will appear again after 24 hours, you will accumulate energy, and then there will be sex again - you will become loving again.

So love is simply a means to get sex, that's why you cannot love your own wife or your own husband; it is very difficult. How can you love? The need has disappeared. Love is just courtship, just foreplay to entice another into sex. The wife or husband does not need any inclination - they were received as a gift. The husband can demand, the wife can demand - there is no need to persuade. And so love disappears! There is no need to look after. It is almost impossible to see how a wife loves her husband, how a husband loves his wife. They can only claim, and such a claim becomes a difficult thing for everyone. Pretending love!

Then you feel that your life is meaningless. That's why when people have extramarital affairs, it gives them again a little energy and a little feeling of love, because you have to look after the new person again, you cannot take another as a gift - you have to persuade him. Declination will be necessary before you relax.

Your love is just an inclination. It cannot be different, because love happens only when you have become one, and not before.

The word "sex" is wonderful. The original root of the word "sex" means "separation", sex means separation. If you are divided within, then there will be sex. When you lust after a woman or a man, what happens? One part of you longs to meet another part, but you are trying to meet the other outside. You may meet for a single moment, but you will be alone again, because there cannot be an eternal meeting outside. Sex should only be momentary, because another is another.

If you meet your inner woman or inner man, then the meeting can be eternal. And when all divisions are lost, this meeting occurs. This is an alchemical transformation: your woman and man meet within - and you become one, and when you are one, you will have love.

Love is the quality of Buddha, or Christ, or Chuang Tzu, you are only playing with counterfeit coins, you cannot love. And the more you understand this, the better, because then you will not be deceived and you will not deceive others.

If you are oneness, then Zhuang Tzu will happen for you too, because

“When the heart is true, pros and cons are forgotten. There is no effort, no compulsion, no need, no lure: then your affairs are under control. You are a free person.”

But now you have obsessions, compulsions, you have to do certain things. The body is constantly forcing you, the mind is forcing you to do them. If you don't do them, you feel anxious. If you do them, you feel guilty. There seems to be no way out of this.

If you engage in sex, you feel guilty, like you did something bad. If you don't engage in sex, you feel restless because the energy is building up and how can you release it? Then the energy moves inside and compels, forces you: your life is continuous compulsions and obsessions. And whatever you do you will be in trouble, because if you indulge in sex you will feel frustrated: all dreams will be shattered, nothing will be achieved. You have imagined so much, projected so much, but the real will never be equal to what you dreamed of.

The more you dream, the more you get frustrated, and then you feel: "Why waste energy? Why get into relationships and unnecessary complications?" After all, when another appears, he brings with him his problems. This is how any relationship becomes a heavy burden. This is not freedom, since any relationship arises from coercion,

Only that person whose heart is at peace, who has become one, is a free person. This does not mean that he will go to the Himalayas or run to Tibet. No! He will be here, but he will be here in a different capacity. He will love, he will have compassion, he will have relationships, but he will remain free. No relationship comes from obsession - he simply shares, shares his being. He has so much that he gives it. And if you accept his gift, he will feel deep gratitude towards you.

Just watch... go into the garden and see: if flowers are left on the bushes, then no more flowers will appear. I observed this. I have never allowed anyone to pick flowers, but if there are 5 flowers growing on a rose bush and you don’t pick them, no more will appear, and those 5 will soon wither. If you pick 5, 10 will appear. If you pick 10, 20 will appear. The more you pick, the more the bush gives you.

The same is true when you are oneness: you have become blossoming tree. The more you give, the more you find that comes. The more you share, the more you grow in it. The bliss grows higher and higher, the ecstasy becomes deeper and deeper. Share it, because what is not shared dies. But the main thing is don’t be “for” or “against”, then you will be a free person.

"Easy is right." For you it is just the opposite, you always choose the difficult because the difficult gives you a challenge and the challenge gives you the ego. Difficult is right for you. The easy is never right for you: with the easy there is no conquest and the ego cannot feel satisfaction. The more difficult the work, the more the ego feels invigorated, ecstatic. This must be done: Everest must be conquered, the Moon must be conquered.

Someone asked Edmund Hillary, who was the first to reach the top of Everest: "Why? Why so much effort? For a century, man tried and tried, and many died - they never came back. Why this passion to climb Everest? So what there? There's nothing there! For a century, many people just died, lost their lives, never came back, but every year again a group comes and tries. It's wonderful: not a single Indian worries about it, and Everest is in India! Not a single one The Tibetan is not worried, but Everest is on the border with Tibet! Why?"

Every year groups come from the West. When Hillary climbed up and then returned, he was asked: "Why?" He said, "Because Everest was there, and until it was conquered, I could not feel peace. It remained there, unconquered, a challenge to the ego. Just because it was there, it had to be conquered."

Difficult things attract. The more difficult it is, the more attractive you are. This makes it more valuable: if you conquer, you achieve more ego. Even if you lose, you gain more ego because you tried, after all, while others didn't try at all. If you achieve with ease, nothing is achieved, because the ego cannot feel more, and if you lose, more is lost, because anyone will say, “It is so easy and you could not achieve it?”

The ego always, like a magnet, attracts to the difficult, but the easy is right. So the ego is never attracted to what is right and is always attracted to what is wrong.

A person becomes a criminal because crime is difficult: a person becomes a politician because politics is difficult; a person loses his mind because of money, because making money is difficult. For everything that is difficult, people will go crazy, not in order to achieve it, but only because it, like Everest, is a challenge: it must be conquered.

Look at your people who have achieved success, those who are successful. Look at them! What have they achieved? They may have reached Everest, yes. but there's nothing there. They must go back. Look at your presidents, prime ministers, Rockefellers... what have they achieved? Nothing! Deep inside they know that they have achieved nothing, but they have done one thing, the most difficult thing - history will remember them. History always remembers fools, because fools make history and fools write it!

Chuang Tzu does not make any history, since the easy is right. But how can you make history if you are light? If you win a war and kill millions of people, you make history. If you just brush your teeth in the morning, how can you make history? And easy is right! You take a bath and hum a song - how can you make history? You eat your food and fall quietly into a dreamless sleep. How can you make history?

No! History does not notice people who are easy and natural. History notices madmen, obsessed with something, who create disasters in one way or another. And the difficult is not right, the easy is right. Keep it light and don't try to be in the story. Leave it to the fools and madmen, just remain outside it - because you cannot have both: either you have life, or history will remember you. If you have life you will be nothing but light and a simple person, you will do simple things and enjoy them.

You will not create any trouble for others, no one will notice you, you will exist as if you had never existed. This is what it means to be light: to exist as if you did not exist; exist as if you were not in anyone's way. Nobody will recognize you, but there is no need for that. You will enjoy, you will achieve highest peak ecstasy.

"Easy is right, easy is right. Start right and you are easy."

And this is the criterion: when doing something, you feel at ease, when you do it, then it is right. If you feel uneasy doing this, something is wrong. If you are tense, it means you are not living an easy life. If you can't sleep, you can't relax, you can't afford, it means that you are living a difficult life, that you are dealing with difficult things, impossible things.

Change your lifestyle, you are on the wrong track. Start right - and you will always be easy; start right and you will always be at peace: this is the criterion. Therefore, always look at what happens when you do something: if you become peaceful, calm, homely, relaxed, then it is right. This is the criterion, and nothing else is the criterion.

What is right for you may not be right for someone else, remember this too: because what is easy for you may not be easy for someone else, and something else will be easy for him. So there cannot be a universal law about this, each individual must choose this for himself. What's easy for you? Don't listen to the world, because there are people there who would like to impose their laws on you. These people are enemies, criminals.

No one who understands life will want to force anything on you, he will simply help you to be easy so that you can find what is easy for you.

And then live in this way - and you will always be easy. Just like Small child, sleeping happily, eating happily, dancing, bubbling with energy - just easy. Remember; no one will notice you. People may even think that you are crazy because if you are serious they think you have value, and if you laugh and make your life funny they think you are a fool.

Let them think. Be a fool, but be easy. Don't be wise and difficult, because no wisdom can blossom in a difficult life. Such wisdom is false, it is stolen. If you understand this, you have found your path.

"Continue easy - and you are right."

Zhuang Tzu is beautiful, Zhuang Tzu is unique, Zhuang Tzu is incomparable! After all, he says: “keep going easy - and you’re right.” He doesn't say, "Be cruel, then you are right; be sincere, then you are right; don't be angry, then you are wrong; don't be sexual..." No, nothing like that! He says: be easy and continue easy - and you are right, and then you have chosen your path.

It gives you the essence, not a particular direction, but the universal truth itself.

"It is easy to follow the true path - it means forgetting about the true path."

Because you are too concerned about the true path, you will become difficult. So be easy even with Chuang Tzu, otherwise you will become not easy, and you are so efficient in becoming not easy that you can turn even Chuang Tzu into madness.

“The true path to follow with ease is to forget the true path.”

Just forget. Be light - that's all. “And forget that walking is easy,” that too! Otherwise you will become too attached to lightness and then lightness will also become a stone in your chest. If you go to Chuang Tzu and say, “Now I have become light,” he will say, “Go, drop it! You are still carrying it. When you are light, you are light, no concept is made about it, no comment is made about it.” "When you are light, why talk about it, why carry it? After all, if you carry it, sooner or later it will become a wound."

A light person is simply light and has forgotten everything. He doesn't know that he is light; he doesn't know that he is right; he does not know that he has any Value. He simply lives in his ease!

Sometimes you come to a person who is living in his ease - easily, simply, without awareness - and you will be able to smell his aroma. Tension has its scent and ease has its scent, but you may not be impressed by it. You are so tense that you are always impressed by tense people - people who take action; people who sit on their thrones like statues. Then you are impressed: things seem so difficult.

Are you impressed by children? Have you watched a child play? Nobody is impressed! Then Zhuang-tse-yi will not make an impression on you, then a truly easy person will not make an impression on you, since he may not make any impact on you. But if you understand, you will catch the aroma of a completely different vibration, surrounding a person which is easy. How can you feel this? What's the way? The way is that next to a person who is light, you will also feel yourself becoming lighter, more calm.

Truly calm person will make you calm; a tense person will make you tense. With a person who lives naturally, you will feel that you are at home: he will not force you in any way, he will not try to change you in any way, he will accept you, he will accept you.

Through accepting it, you can learn acceptance, and if you can accept yourself. nature will change. And if nature changes, the ocean is not so far away - the river constantly flows towards it.

We are still not fully computerized, we are not yet faced with a “brave new world”, as in Aldous Huxley’s dystopia; the conditioned mind is not yet the only ruler of our existence. If this were so, then there would be no confusion. If confusion exists, it means that the heart and soul remain alive and want to be heard. And this is hope: after all, it is the heart and soul that first of all sets the direction in the search for the truth, the final, “what is” by Thaddeus Golas.

He speaks of every spiritual system known to the world - Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Tantra, Sufism, Hasidism, Judaism, Zen:

Title: When your shoes don't feel too tight.

We present to your attention a wonderful esoteric book that will help you look into yourself and see your inner world. It turns out that it is so simple and beautiful! And the path to knowledge in in this case are the parables of Zhuang Tzu, the famous mystic of the Tao religion. INTRODUCTION
Half-jokingly, half-seriously, Bhagwan likes to say: “In this world there are only two infinite things - the compassion of the master and the stupidity of the student.” And he sits in his chair and with great patience and even greater love tries to help us free ourselves from the confusion of life in which we are so pitifully stuck.

But the mind remains a powerful ruler. Every parent, every teacher, every priest, every politician has worked hard to suppress the living and unpredictable facts of the heart and soul in favor of the more easily controlled mechanical mind. So we are divided, in conflict. And this is Bhagwan's concern - to reunite us, to make us one again.
Society gave his mind a system that pleased him, which he clung to, despite all the resistance from his heart and soul. In order to reunite us, Bhagwan's effort is to take us beyond mind, body and soul, any system, anything, so that we float, so empty, into oneness with the empty blue sky.

Bhagwan does not give us any beliefs, dogmas, doctrines. He speaks of every spiritual system known to the world - Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Tantra, Sufism, Hasidism, Judaism, Zen:
"No simple doctrine can be true. It may be true for some people, but for other people it will not be true. That is why there are so many doctrines in the world. There is Buddha, there is Jesus, there is Mohammed, such completely different people, and all are true.

“I'm trying to do a whole new experiment by bringing you all together.
When you create a structure, you start clinging to it and the moment I see that you have started clinging to theories, I immediately bring in the opposite to destroy them.
Many times you will build a house and many times you will feel that order has come, and I will again create disorder. What's the matter? The point is that one day you will become conscious, you will listen to me, but you will not create order, you will not create structure, because it is of no use: this person will destroy it again the next day!

You will simply listen to me without clinging to words, theories, dogmas. The day you can listen to me without creating a structure within you and I see that although you have listened to me there is emptiness, that day I will do it.”

"When the shoes don't feel too tight" is Zen, but it is not an intellectual study about the principles of Zen as a religious system. No. It is an attempt by an enlightened master to help us move towards our inner not-self, our inner emptiness, in relation to the Zen situation as it has been for several thousand years years ago, and us in our situation here and now. In this Bhagavan is unique. He talks about Zen and other religious systems, but only insofar as they actually have a practical meaning by which we can understand the conditioning of the mind and, by acting in a certain way , to transcend. He is not interested in filling the mind with useless facts. He is interested in giving us ways in which the mind and its clinging can be destroyed, sooner or later.
