Thermal insulation paint corundum characteristics. Ultra-thin thermal insulation corundum, corundum paint, liquid ceramic thermal insulation, thermal insulation “warm” paint - reports and conclusions. Features of liquid thermal insulation

Liquid ultra-thin insulation (as an analogue) is a new word in the matter of insulating structures. Standard methods of thermal insulation are still good, but little by little they are being replaced by more effective solutions.

Liquid insulation is just such a solution. It is able to protect the structure from freezing, while being essentially more paint and varnish material, than insulation in the form in which we usually imagine it.

In this article we will present for your consideration all the nuances and features of liquid thermal insulation Corundum.

1 Features of liquid insulation

Liquid thermal insulation Corundum is produced by the association of companies Fulleren. They have been producing this material for many years and have managed to achieve quite serious results.

Note that liquid-type thermal insulation was not invented quite recently. It is intended for the same insulation work, but it is reproduced in a unique form.

Standard insulation is a special material with low thermal conductivity. It cannot transfer heat and perfectly delineates zones with different temperatures due to the presence of a large amount of air in it.

That is, the insulation has a certain thickness and is laid on the surface of the walls, thereby protecting them from the effects of external temperatures. As you yourself know, the working thickness of the slab can reach up to 10 cm or even exceed this figure.

But the characteristics of the heat-insulating material Corundum are completely different. It’s not for nothing that this insulation is called liquid. If you look at it uninformed, the composition can be confused with ordinary paint.

Indeed, thermal insulation of this type resembles paint in consistency, is applied like paint, and even forms a similar coating. However, after application, an ultra-thin thermal insulation film with unique parameters is formed.

This is possible thanks to the unique structure of the Corundum material (as with).

1.1 Insulation composition

In addition to the standard name in the form of liquid thermal insulation, this insulation has another name - ceramic.

It is called ceramic not because it consists of ceramics or forms ceramic surface. Quite the contrary, the main filler in Corundum insulation is an acrylic-type polymer, only more dense.

Ceramic insulation consists of ceramic hemispheres with insulated filling. These hemispheres allow you to create insulation with a thickness of 1-2 mm.

However, ultrathin film does not consist of hemispheres alone. It also contains anti-corrosion additives, polymers, etc.

Together they form insulation for walls, floors, ceilings, pipes and generally any structures available to you.

After hardening, the polymer sets, forming a very strong film; inside it there are frozen spheres that occupy more than half of the space. They push away anyone thermal energy, protecting the insulated structure no worse than a quite impressive-sized layer of mineral wool.

1.2 Operating principle

The instructions for use state that Corundum insulation with a thickness of only 1 mm can replace up to 5 cm of mineral wool insulation. That's really true ultra-thin thermal insulation. But how does she manage to do this?

And everything is very simple. The fact is that when creating Corundum insulation, the developers were initially guided by the desire to eliminate heat loss in all three main directions. And you probably know these directions.

Heat loss building structures most often occur due to:

  • Heat transfer;
  • Convection;
  • Radiation (even if it costs).

Heat transfer is dampened by most standard insulation materials. But at what cost? To level out the temperature difference, a person has to use bulky insulation with a thickness of 5 cm.

In this case, it must be laid on glue or in a special frame, and then covered again. Liquid thermal insulation performs the same functions, only its structure is tens of times denser, and its thermal conductivity is almost zero.

That is, when finishing the walls, the applied liquid will also prevent the air from exchanging temperature with their insides, but at the same time, an ultra-thin film acts as protection.

Convection is the transfer of heat from object to object. An extremely controversial method, because in ordinary construction it plays practically no role.

However, even this moment is liquid ceramic thermal insulation material Corundum can completely remove.

But with radiation things are much better. Thermal radiation standard insulation materials are not able to extinguish (for example, ineffective).

That is, they can only transfer the radiation onto themselves, but a certain amount of it will still reach the surface of the walls. Meanwhile, radiation comes from all warm objects, especially from heaters.

For additional protection I had to combine regular insulation with foil. The foil reflected the waves, and the insulation did its usual tasks.

But liquid thermal insulation Corundum repels radiation by almost 90%. The residues are simply extinguished and dispersed close to the surface of the walls.

The result is a situation where all three main consumable items are removed by just one ultra-thin protective film. Surprisingly, customer reviews are also completely unanimous. Corundum insulation really works and does its job well.

1.3 Pros and cons

When selecting thermal insulation, it is important to pay attention to all parameters. Take into account specifications, reviews and even consumption. However, first of all you need to look at the properties of the insulation. Why is it good, and why, on the contrary, does it repulse you?

The developers eat their bread for a reason. Corundum insulation has a huge list of advantages and a minimum of disadvantages. So let's look at them in more detail.

Main advantages:

  • Can be applied to walls, floors, load-bearing structures, roofing, pipes, etc.
  • The work is done with your own hands; improvised means will do.
  • Dries quickly.
  • A thin protective layer replaces up to 5 cm of standard insulation.
  • Not exposed to external influences.
  • Not afraid of moisture.
  • Does not respond to temperature changes.
  • Non-flammable.
  • An elementary method of application as in the case with.

And this is not the whole list. Full characteristics can be assessed only after you have the instructions and certificates for Corundum thermal insulation in your hands. But even from this it follows that the material is extremely useful.

Just look at the fact that it can be applied with a regular brush. That is, any structure that can be reached can be processed.

Now remember the standard insulation processes. How much time does it take to decorate one column with mineral wool? And what can we say about the surface of the walls, which are surrounded big amount pipes?

While Corundum insulation will not cause you such problems. All you need to do is stir it and apply it to the wall. It is not surprising that the reviews about it are all positive.

Main disadvantages:

  • Quite a high price.
  • Serious expense.

As for the shortcomings, they are quite trivial. Like anyone innovative material, Corundum insulation is expensive. These are already production costs.

The second point, which partially overlaps with the first, is the serious waste of paint. Corundum must be applied in several layers. Accordingly, the consumption of such material will be very serious.

It is advisable to apply at least 4-5 layers to the surface of external walls. This is the only way to create high quality insulation and be sure that it will not crack or peel off.

2 Types and differences

Corundum insulation comes in several varieties. Each of them has its own technical nuances.

There is Corundum insulation:

  • Classic;
  • Facade, Facade-Lotus;
  • Anticorrosive;
  • Winter;
  • Fire protection.

Liquid thermal insulation Corundum Classic – standard option, which is used almost everywhere. Thermal paint is easy to apply, dries quickly and has good strength parameters.

Thermal insulation Corundum Facade is intended for exterior finishing walls The Facade-Lotos sample is the front, second level of insulation. Apply for added protection.

Anticorrosion model – insulation with enhanced anti-corrosion properties, ideal for protecting wood.

The Winter model differs only in the possibility of application at sub-zero temperatures.

Well, the last option is paint, which swells upon contact with fire, protecting the structure from fire.

Heat conservation largely depends on the thermal insulation characteristics of the building (residential or industrial) and the building material. High-quality insulation of a room means reducing heating costs.

There are many types of thermal insulation materials, but optimal solution, both in the method of application and durability of use, and in the main thermal insulation characteristics is liquid thermal paint Corundum.

The liquid thermal insulation composition is a one-component composition based on ceramic fillers. Thanks to innovative developments and a unique composition, insulating paint provides anti-corrosion protection and can act as a water barrier.

If you want to perform high-quality insulation, without spoiling it appearance facade of the building and not go broke on expensive facing materials- choose ultra-thin heat insulator Corundum. The composition is universal in use and has excellent adhesion (adhesion) to any materials. The composition is quite easily applied to the internal and external surfaces of industrial or residential construction projects.

If you need to get rid of condensation on walls or cold water pipes, you can also use the Corundum composition. Cause and problem excess moisture Paint will not remove paint indoors, but it will save you from the appearance of condensation on treated surfaces.

A compelling argument for using Corundum thermal paint is safety. The applied coating is non-toxic and contains polymer composition and environmentally friendly additives. Due to the presence of hollow microscopic spheres filled with air, the coating acts as a “thermal mirror” and guarantees a stable thermal barrier.

You urgently need to do thermal insulation work on complex architectural surfaces (reservoirs, containers, pipelines, etc.) and at the same time save costs? Choose something universal ultra-thin coating Corundum.

Features of the thermal insulation coating Corundum

Liquid insulation is applied like ordinary paint and acts as a thermal barrier. Thermal paint consists of 70% hollow ceramic microspheres filled with rarefied air, the rest is a latex composition, pigmenting, fire retardant and inhibitory additives. Depending on the purpose and specific use, additional components can be added to the composition, which actively prevent the appearance of corrosion on treated metal surfaces and the development of fungi (even in high humidity).

Thanks to innovative developments, the thermal insulation material is characterized by a high degree of adhesion, is quite light and does not weigh down the main structure, is capable of stretching and does not lose its properties when bent.

The composition is supplied ready for use. In most cases it is used in housing and communal services and industrial enterprises. The composition is applied to air ducts, pipelines, buildings and various structures, production and technological equipment.

The speed and ease of application of the composition definitely provide significant advantages over standard insulation materials (mineral wool, basalt slabs). The technology for applying ultra-thin thermal insulation is quite simple, accessible and significantly reduces the labor intensity of the work. Thanks to the features of coatings from TM Korund, it has become possible to process surfaces of complex configurations in hard-to-reach places.

The guaranteed service life (without loss of thermal insulation properties) of the Corundum dry coating is 10 years. In case of mechanical damage it is repairable.

Thermal insulation Corundum is an effective solution to 7 problems:

  1. High-quality and effective insulation.
  2. Elimination of condensation and sources of corrosion.
  3. Protection against mold and other microorganisms.
  4. Can act as a protective and decorative coating.
  5. Creating a seamless coating.
  6. Non-toxic composition (at water based), you can work with paint both indoors and outdoors.
  7. Significant savings in space (area) of the insulated object.

Features of liquid thermal insulation

When choosing insulation, many are only interested in cost square meter mineral wool or polystyrene foam covering. But the additional costs associated with installation work: waterproofing, preliminary priming, installation fasteners and tapes, number of personnel involved and others. If we collectively evaluate all expense items, we can conclude that insulation familiar materials(glass wool, pulpan) costs several times more than liquid thermal insulation.

Don't forget about safety. In the event of a fire, fire spreads through classic insulation at lightning speed and is accompanied by copious discharge smoke.

Liquid insulation Corundum is non-toxic and does not emit harmful compounds when heated. Does not make the structure heavier and does not lead to deformation of the treated surfaces, which completely eliminates damage to load-bearing structures and further major repairs. The service life is much longer than conventional insulation.

Depending on the operating conditions and specific application, you can choose the most suitable suitable option Corundum products:

  • Corundum Classic. Is used for interior works as a thermal barrier.
  • Corundum Anticorrosive. Can be applied to rusty hardware without pre-treatment.
  • Corundum Winter. It is permissible to carry out thermal insulation work at air temperatures down to -10°C.
  • Corundum Facade. Universal composition, can be used for both internal and external work.

Advantages of liquid thermal insulation

  • Thermal paint can be applied to any surface (plastic, brick, concrete, metal), including air ducts and equipment.
  • Good adhesion to almost all materials, provides reliable protection from air and water.
  • Dry coating of the composition guarantees reliable protection of treated surfaces from temperature changes (protection against temperature deformation metal structures), atmospheric precipitation and exposure to moisture (condensation).
  • Increases anti-corrosion protection and reduces heat loss.
  • Effective protection from exposure to UV rays (reflects up to 80% of radiant energy).
  • Stable in alkaline environments.
  • Easily applied to surfaces of any geometric shape.
  • Simple repair and restoration of the damaged area.
  • Does not support the combustion process, when heated above a temperature of +260°C - the coating becomes charred, when the temperature reaches +600°C - the coating decomposes with a large release of nitrogen oxide and carbon - prevents the rapid spread of fire.

Surface preparation and application of composition

The composition (regardless of modification) should be applied to a previously prepared surface. It is necessary to carry out a set of measures to remove dirt, dust and rust. To clean products, it is recommended to use the abrasive blasting method or use metal brushes. After cleaning, it is necessary to degrease the surface. Use solvents recommended by the manufacturer (Solv-Ur, Solvent). Before application thermal insulation composition remove possible condensation and moisture from the surface.

A material such as liquid thermal insulation corundum is quite well known today. And it is this heat insulator that causes a lot of controversy and doubt, since in advertising they usually say that one millimeter of layer, which is applied like ordinary paint, is equal in properties to 5 cm of mineral wool.

First of all, it's worth starting with correct definition: corundum is not insulation, but a thermal insulator!

The difference is that the first name denotes a material that is intended for some noticeable insulation of the room. That is, in in this case The temperature inside should improve by at least a few degrees.

But the second concept should be interpreted in the literal sense of the word: an insulator is isolation. In essence, this means that it will not become significantly warmer, but it is also unlikely to become colder. But at least there is a chance to get rid of condensation, fungus or gradual “wetting” of the walls, for example.

Moreover, in the case of insulation (or rather insulator) KKrund, it is possible to eliminate such problems quite cheaply!

Therefore, in principle, it is possible to pay attention to this decision. The main thing is to understand well technical specifications material and become familiar with the application features. This will be discussed below.

Structure of Corundum and its scope of application

This is, in fact, a suspension of ceramics and silicone with vacuum microcavities inside. As a result, an ultra-thin film is obtained on the plane, which resembles a layer of ordinary acrylic paint. The liquid can also be applied using a brush, spray gun or roller.

The characteristics allow this thermal insulator to be used to protect the following structures and elements:

  • metal hangars and garages;
  • pipelines with water coolant or just cold water;
  • water storage tanks;
  • heating boilers;
  • steam and gas pipelines;
  • stone and wooden walls;
  • slopes.

Very important aspect- this is the need to purchase certified material, since there are now many counterfeits of “Corundum” on the market. They pour (literally) anything into a fake liquid, and because of this, of course, no insulating effect can be achieved. Therefore, it is necessary to require documents confirming the authenticity of the insulation.

And by the way, there are different types.

  1. “Classic” - intended for basic finishing of facades, interior walls, slopes and pipelines.
  2. "Facade". The modification is relevant to use for facades in order to protect walls from fungus, moisture and mold.
  3. "Lotus façade". This type of liquid is best applied as a finishing (covering) layer - that is, on top of “wet” mineral wool facades, for example.
  4. "Anticor" is used to protect against corrosion and at the same time technical properties allow you to apply layers directly onto the rust, without any preliminary preparation.
  5. The “Winter” modification contains a composition of acrylic polymers and foam glass microgranules, which allows you to work with the material in winter period.
  6. “Fire retardant” is a liquid that, after drying, forms a film that swells when exposed to flame.

These are the modifications of Corundum that exist.

Advantages and disadvantages of the material

The following positive factors can be identified:

  • excellent “adhesion” to metal, stone and plastic surface- there are no air gaps left between the ultra-thin layer of film and the base;
  • 100% water resistance;
  • "Corundum" is not afraid of temperature changes;
  • it is possible to process a plane of any shape;
  • low weight of liquid;
  • UV resistance;
  • the material does not support the combustion process.

As for the negative characteristics, this is perhaps the point that this coating is not very resistant to mechanical stress. That is, the plane can be scratched without special effort. However, if we talk about objectivity, it can be noted that the surface is very easy to repair - just apply another layer of liquid to the damaged area.

Well, it's time to touch on the most important issue.

How good is Corundum as a heat insulator?

As practice shows, condensation on the plane and excess humidity really disappear. In addition, there is a very real chance to completely eliminate mold and rotting of walls, for example. However, if you do it in a good way, and not “for show,” then one layer will not be enough - it is better to apply at least three.

With this approach, the temperature in the room should rise by one and a half degrees. It turns out that some more significant, noticeable improvements can only appear when many layers are applied, but this is no longer practical from a purely financial perspective. At significant expense, it is already easier to make a facade from mineral wool.

This concludes the review of the insulation (or rather thermal insulator) “Corundum” and now, probably, it is easier to draw objective conclusions and make a decision to purchase it.

In one of the articles we helped you understand. Today we will talk about a composite with high thermal insulation properties, called liquid thermal insulation “Corundum”. Without exaggeration, it is the first domestic product created in our country using national technologies using high-quality imported raw materials. This is the best material in its niche in terms of the ratio of the quality of the result and the cost of the material.

Meet liquid thermal insulation Corundum

The consistency is more like mastic.

The mentioned ultra-thin liquid insulation “Corundum” is made on the basis of:

  • a binder made on the basis of high quality acrylic with the addition of unique catalysts and various fixatives;
  • microspheres made of ceramics with ultra-thin walls that contain rarefied air.

In addition to the main composition, the mentioned thermal insulation “Corundum”, reviews of which are extremely positive, includes special additives. They eliminate the occurrence of corrosion on metal surfaces and the appearance of fungus from excess moisture. This combination made it possible to obtain a light and flexible material with the highest adhesion to almost any surface it covers. If you want to understand what liquid insulation Corundum is, reviews on the Internet and the public press will help you with this.

This is a suspension white, similar to paint, which is easily applied to surfaces of any shape, be it brick, concrete, plastic or metal.

After it has completely dried chemically, a very elastic polymer-based coating is obtained on the treated surface. It has the highest heat insulating properties and allows you to create effective protection against corrosion. Isolation is applied when executing roofing works and arrangement of building foundations, as well as on life support systems. We have already told you. The use of Corundum makes it possible to almost completely eliminate the occurrence of condensation on supply pipelines cold water. The material significantly reduces heat losses of heating systems.

Characteristics of the material "Corundum"

Multi-colored dyes can be added to the white composition.

Thermal insulation Corundum, the technical characteristics of which are given below, is in demand at any facility. Before starting work, the specified insulation can, if necessary, be diluted with ordinary water.

The film of this thermal insulation, which is only 1 mm thick, begins to decompose if the temperature exceeds 840 degrees. The process takes place with the release of nitrogen and CO, which allows to slow down the processes of combustion and smoke. The thermal insulation capabilities of ultra-thin liquid insulation exceed the parameters of sheet and roll insulation, the thickness of which can reach 5–7 cm, as well as brickwork made in one row.

Corundum insulation paint can be applied almost anywhere. The requirements for the surface before applying the material are minimal:

  • it must first be degreased;
  • remove dirt;
  • clean from dust and, to a first approximation, from rust.

Temperature work surface should be between 7-150 degrees Celsius. The temperature range declared by the manufacturer for operation is - 60/+ 260 degrees. Warranty period ≥ 15 years.

Application of liquid insulation Corundum

Apply like paint - acts as a thermal barrier.

Thermal insulation paint Corundum can be applied with a brush, roller, or conventional spray gun. Sprayers allow you to get more high quality application and reduce material consumption. The average thickness of the layer applied at a time is 0.38 mm. After application, a dense film is formed on the surface within 1/3 hour, impermeable to moisture. Complete chemical drying of the applied layer of thermal insulation takes at least 24 hours. Only after this is it allowed to apply a second layer. If you work with a roller, its average consumption is 0.5 l/m. sq.

Modifications of "Corundum",

  1. "Classic";
  2. "Anticor";
  3. "Winter";
  4. "Facade".

The first option is the most universal version, which is used both for external (facade, roofing) and internal work (thermal insulation of various pipelines, floors, window slopes). The second material can be applied directly to the corroded surface. Before work, it is enough to remove loose loose rust.

Any modification in which Corundum insulation is offered (reviews professional builders this is confirmed), has additional properties, allowing to provide reliable protection metal surfaces from corrosion.

The performance characteristics correspond to the basic version of Corundum. Using the material to insulate finished structures and laid pipelines can significantly reduce labor costs. No special preparation of the treated surfaces is required. Saving material and money, without compromising the quality of the work performed, is achieved due to the fact that “Anticor” is applied only as the first layer, and then “Classic” is used.

The “Winter” brand can be applied at outdoor temperatures down to (-10) degrees. This is one of the latest developments from the manufacturer. The composition of the material includes multi-composite acrylic polymers, dispersed, as well as a number of additives.

The “Facade” version was created specifically for concrete surfaces, as well as objects built from slag concrete and foam concrete, which allows us to talk about the material as ideal professional insulation in construction. Optimal values vapor permeability of this material comparable to similar values inherent in high-quality facade paint. Material "Corundum" in any of its modifications is today best choice to ensure high-quality thermal insulation at minimal cost.

In addition to the basic composition, special additives are introduced into the material, which eliminate the appearance of corrosion on the metal surface and the formation of fungus in conditions of high humidity on concrete surfaces. This combination makes the material light, flexible, stretchable, and has excellent adhesion to the surfaces being coated. The consistency of the material is similar to regular paint, is a white suspension that can be applied to any surface. After drying, an elastic polymer coating, which has unique thermal insulation properties compared to traditional insulators and provides anti-corrosion protection. The unique insulating properties of Corundum are the result of the intense molecular action of rarefied air located in hollow spheres

Corundum material is highly effective in thermal insulation of building facades, roofs, interior walls, window slopes, concrete floors, hot and cold water supply pipelines, steam pipelines, air ducts for air conditioning systems, cooling systems, various containers, tanks, trailers, refrigerators, etc. It is used to eliminate condensation on cold water supply pipes and reduce heat loss in accordance with SNiP in heating systems. The material is used at temperatures from - 60 C to + 260 C. The service life of the material, subject to the rules of application technology, is at least 15 years. Today our material is used at facilities and enterprises different areas activities.

How does the material work from the point of view of thermophysics?

Let's start with the fact that there are three ways to transfer heat:

1. Thermal conductivity - transfer of heat into solid body due to the kinetic energy of molecules and atoms from a more heated to a less heated part of the body.

2. Convection - transfer of heat in liquids, gases, granular media by flows of the substance itself.

3. Radiant heat transfer ( thermal radiation) - electromagnetic radiation, emitted by a substance and arising due to its internal energy.

Thermodynamics is a science that studies the laws of mutual transformation and transfer of energy. The result of these processes is temperature equilibrium throughout the system.

The method and effectiveness with which the insulating material blocks heat redistribution, i.e. the process of temperature equilibrium, determines the quality of the insulation.

Heat transfer is convective or radiant heat exchange between the surface of a solid body and environment. The intensity of this heat exchange is characterized by the heat transfer coefficient.

Liquid ceramic heat-insulating material CORUND is a complex, multi-level structure in which all three methods of heat transfer are minimized.

A ceramic heat insulator consists of 80% microspheres; accordingly, only 20% of the binder can conduct heat due to its thermal conductivity. The other share of heat comes from convection and radiation, and since the microsphere contains rarefied air (the best insulator after vacuum), heat loss is not great. Moreover, due to its structure, the material has low heat transfer from the surface, which plays a role decisive role in his thermophysics.

Thus, it is necessary to separate two terms: Insulation and Heat Insulator, since in these materials the physics of the heat transfer process is different:

insulation- the operating principle is based on the thermal conductivity of the material (min. plate)

heat insulator- mostly on the physics of waves.

The effectiveness of insulation directly depends on the thickness: the thicker the insulation layer, the better.

The thickness of the thermal insulation layer of the ultra-thin heat insulator KORUND varies from 1 to 6 mm, a subsequent increase has virtually no effect on its effectiveness.

Today, Corundum has the following industrial modifications -

1. Corundum Classic.

Basic modification - the best liquid thermal insulation. It is a film-forming modification that allows you to insulate objects with surface temperatures up to +200 °C on a permanent basis.

2. Corundum Facade.

For the first time in the world, a material has been developed that can be applied in layers up to 1 mm thick at a time, and has increased vapor permeability.

3. Corundum Anticorrosive.

For the first time in Russia, a unique material has been developed that can be applied directly to a rusty surface. It is enough to simply remove the “damp” (loose) rust with a metal brush, after which you can apply CORUND Anticor thermal insulation, following the instructions.

Thermal insulation Corundum Anticor is a highly effective thermal insulation coating with additional anti-corrosion properties, and not just a preservative and corrosion modifier. All technical characteristics, requirements, instructions for use are the same as for the base material CORUND. The use of CORUND Anticor for thermal insulation of existing structures and pipelines significantly reduces labor costs, since it does not require special preparation of the working surface. Thermal insulation Korund Antikor must be applied as the first layer, and for subsequent layers (in order to save money) you can use “classic” thermal insulation KORUND.

4. Corundum Winter.

For the first time in Russia, a material has been developed that can be worked with negative temperature. Corundum Winter is the latest development in the line of ultra-thin liquid ceramic heat-insulating materials. Unlike all other gastrointestinal tract materials presented on the Russian market, work on applying Corundum Winter can be carried out in winter, while minimum temperature application of conventional LCTM cannot be lower than +5 °C Corundum Winter consists of a composition of special acrylic polymers and foam glass microgranules dispersed in it, as well as pigmenting, fire-retardant, rheological and inhibitory additives.

Now you are not afraid of the “winter recession” in construction!
