Manufacturing of the machine:
- Markings are made on the base - washers are applied tightly in a figure eight, and the location of the future two holes is outlined.
- Using a screwdriver and a smaller drill, it is done through hole, then changes to a larger drill, and expands to the desired diameter.
- A bolt is inserted, a washer and nut are secured on the other side of the base wrench. When the bolt is firmly embedded in the base fabric, the washer and nut are unscrewed and removed. The same operation is performed with the second hole.
- Cutting tape from a plastic bottle can have different widths. It depends on the thickness of the washers placed on top of the bolt.
- When required amount washers installed on the bolt is put on stationery knife, the cutting end of which should touch the second bolt.
- The structure is secured from above with several more bolts. They will act as a retainer for the knife and the original plastic tape.

The method for producing tape from plastic bottles is surprisingly simple and accessible.
You will only need two M5 bolts (no more needed) with a length of at least 30mm, two nuts and washers for them, a wooden block or board, a stationery knife blade, as well as several washers bigger size, for example with a hole of 8 mm (their number depends on the thickness of the tape being cut).
To begin, we place large diameter washers in in this case on the block close to each other and mark the holes with a pencil.
We drill holes with a drill using a 5 mm drill bit.

The tape did not always turn out to be uniform in width, but for me this was not so significant.

Today we will show you how to modernize manual bottle cutters and demonstrate a prototype of the machine. This is more relevant for obtaining more plastic strips and the most popular ones are not wide up to 3 mm, which is long, tedious and still needs to be rolled by hand.
The solution is simple and obvious - you need to use a stand or frame for both the reel and the bottle cutter itself, or simply fix it separately. On a quick fix made a prototype. Some nuances have emerged that need to be taken into account in the future. A reel of necks is not very suitable; it is advisable to make the diameter larger than that of bottles, otherwise the wide tape will unwind itself. It is also necessary to select the distance from the reel to the cutter, it is convenient for winding, it weakens jerks, improves accuracy and quality. Connecting the drill should be done through a reduction gear. If you take this issue seriously, you need to increase the dimensions of the frame and coil itself, replace the bushings with bearings, add a laying mechanism, select the type of cutter and allocate space for all this.
Let's sketch out a few simple, quick options for machines. Screw the bottle cutter itself and two slats or corners for the reel to the mounting table, block or stump. Attach a bottle cutter and two slats to the board, secure it to the base, say, on the table with clamps. You can make a frame with slats alone and even reinforce it with jumpers and a cross-shaped truss; attach the frame to the table with clamps. Use as a frame for trestles, furniture (stool, chair, table), etc. Use an inertial fishing reel and attach a bottle cutter directly to the spinning rod.
There are many options, but the meaning is the same. In total, with a little effort and ingenuity, it is easy to simplify and speed up the process of dissolving bottles into coils, as well as winding and rewinding ropes or twines, etc. There is room to turn around...
