Connecting an indirect heating boiler. Boiler piping and recirculation system

Boiler indirect heating helps save on hot water supply. After all, in in this case DHW is powered by a heating boiler. True, with the help of indirect heating it is possible to implement only a storage hot water supply system. Moreover, the effectiveness of such a system is determined by a rather intricate piping scheme for an indirect heating boiler.

Therefore, in this article we will look at various options piping and connecting indirect heating boilers. This information will help you choose best option connection of indirect heating system hot water.

The forged water heating system is, in fact, the second circuit of the heating system, heating the storage tank - the boiler. Moreover, the boiler itself is pumped with ordinary tap water, heated by a special circuit (coil) through which the heating system coolant circulates. That is, there is no direct contact between the consumed hot water and the coolant of the heating system, which is why this method of hot water supply is called indirect.

Moreover, the very essence of the process of indirect water heating imposes a number of restrictions on the connection diagram of such a boiler, namely:

  • Heated (tap) water must be supplied to the bottom and taken from the top of the boiler. That is, the water supply is connected to the lower, and the hot water supply circuit is connected to the upper fitting of the boiler.
  • The heating fluid must circulate through the heating element from top to bottom. That is, the boiler circuit input is mounted on the upper fitting of the coil, and the output - on the lower one.

A similar scheme for connecting an indirect heating boiler to the water supply and heating networks is explained by the different densities of hot and cold water. That is, by taking water from the highest point, we are guaranteed to get heated liquid accumulated in upper layers(due to lower density). And the cold water supplied from below “works” like a piston, gradually heating up and rising to the upper part of the boiler tank.

With the supply of coolant, everything is even simpler - it passes through the coil from top to bottom, practically without losing energy in the hot layers and transferring it to the lower part of the tank, where cold water has accumulated. This is how you can very quickly warm up the entire cavity of the storage tank.

Typical piping schemes for an indirect heating boiler

The schematic diagram for installing an indirect heating boiler is simple and understandable. But in practice, these flows of hot and cold water behave in completely unpredictable ways. And if you add a recirculation circuit to the system, which increases efficiency but complicates the connection diagram, then the whole circuit diagram becomes simply uncontrollable. However, the boilers still work.

And in most cases, their performance is supported by special connection schemes to the water supply and heating system, namely:

  • Trim with three-way valve.
  • Trim with two pumps.
  • Trim with hydraulic boom.

This scheme involves connecting to the main branch of the heating system a separate circuit serving a heating element boiler Moreover, the connection of the circuit to the “hot” heating pipe is carried out using a special three-way valve, and the return of the waste coolant to the “cold” pipe (return) is realized using a regular insert (or tee).

The valve itself, which is used to insert into the “hot” pipe of the circuit, operates under automatic control, reading signals from temperature sensors located inside the boiler.

As a result, the scheme functions as follows:

  • When the water temperature in the boiler drops, the valve shuts off the coolant supply to the heating circuit.
  • When the heating circuit is turned off, the water heater circuit is turned on, and all the energy from the heating boiler is transferred to the boiler coil.
  • After heating the water in the boiler, the valve turns off the water heater circuit and turns on the heating circuit.

That is, the heating boiler heats either the batteries (radiators) or the boiler. Moreover, the temperature of the coolant in the boiler must be higher than the expected temperature of the water in the boiler. Otherwise, the heating system circuit will not work. Since a relatively cold coolant will not be able to heat the water to the valve shutdown temperature.

This scheme involves the use of two pumps and a check valve in the recirculation process. Moreover, the installation of an indirect heating boiler involves connecting to a separate circuit embedded in the heating system using tees.

The essence of the process is to control flows in parallel circuits by turning on either “heating” or “water heating” pumps. Flows are cut off using a back pressure valve. And the order in which the pumps are turned on is controlled by the same temperature sensor mounted in the boiler.

That is, if the water temperature drops below a critical level, the “heating” pump is turned off, and the “water heating” pump is turned on. Well, after the boiler warms up, it happens reverse process– the “water heating” is turned off and the “heating” pump is turned on.

Moreover, the “water heating” unit operates for no more than 50-60 minutes. During this time, the batteries simply do not have time to cool down, and the double load on the boiler does not affect the quality of heating. As a result, a scheme with two motors can be practiced even when installing an indirect hot water supply system in a multi-storey building.

In order to avoid problems with hot water, no sudden shutdowns or interruptions, an indirect heating boiler is installed. In addition to heating water, its functions also include heating residential premises. This may not only be a country house, as many believe. The boiler can also be installed in an apartment or on a production site. The range of applications is very wide.

But, the effectiveness of installing such a system is determined by the wiring diagram, and its installation does not have to be done by professionals. You can do the installation and wiring yourself. You just need to understand the complex wiring diagram.

Connection rules

The indirect heating system is another circuit, in addition to the existing one, which produces heating of an additional container, which is called a boiler. It is supplied with ordinary tap water, which is heated using a coil. In such a system there is no direct interaction between the coolant and the hot water produced. Therefore, it was called indirect.

Before you begin installation, it would be a good idea to familiarize yourself with some rules.

  • The water should enter the bottom of the boiler. And the exit must be made from the top.
  • The coolant circulation of such a system should go from top to bottom.

If you use these rules, the system will work with maximum efficiency.

The following video clearly shows some options for piping an indirect heating boiler.

Types of strapping

By piping an indirect heating boiler we mean connecting the pipelines of the boiler itself with the water supply. The operation of the system as a whole depends on how the installation is carried out.

This is the easiest way to tie. It is used when a large amount of water is consumed.

The boiler is connected to the main circuit and an additional one. The first is used to distribute heat into the batteries, the second circuit heats the water in the boiler itself. For proper separation of flows, connect a three-way distribution valve.

The thermostat monitors the temperature of the water in the tank, and when it reaches a predetermined value, a signal is sent to the servo drive. And it already sends a flow of heated water to the main circuit for heating. If the water temperature drops again, a switch will occur in the opposite direction and the coolant will return to the coil.

Most important point settings – the temperature set on the thermostat must be set higher than the temperature set in the heater! Otherwise, it will not be possible to heat the water to the point at which switching to heating circuit.

Trim with two pumps

Another piping option is with the parallel use of two pumps. One is mounted on the heating circuit, the other on the hot water supply. The control of the pumps, as in the first case, is entrusted to the thermostat. It is he who switches the operating mode.

The heating quality remains the same high level. The main thing is that when connecting two pumps, be sure to install check valves at the outlet of each. This is done to prevent mixing of counter flows inside the coolant.

Trim with hydraulic boom

If the heating system has many branches, such as a multi-circuit battery system or a separate branch for a heated floor, then it makes sense to use this type of piping. To avoid difficulties with a system in which each circuit is equipped with its own recirculation pump, a hydraulic distributor is used.

The water gun must balance the pressure in each direction and prevent thermal shock. As for this type of strapping, difficulties are possible here. Therefore, it is better to entrust such a task as installation and subsequent adjustment of such a system to professionals.

Coolant recirculation

If hot water is needed as quickly as possible, then it would be more correct to use a recirculation system. Due to the fact that a ring coolant line is formed in the system. The constant movement of water through it leads to heating. That is why the waiting time for hot water is reduced to a minimum.

To ensure continuous movement of water, a re is installed in such a system. circulation pump. This hot water flow must be installed so that it passes through installations that constantly need heating. A heated towel dryer is an example of such a device.

Connecting the boiler to a gas boiler

For the proper functioning of the boiler with a gas boiler, it contains a temperature sensor. For them to work together, a three-way valve is connected. The valve regulates the flow between the main circuit and the DHW circuit.

To a single-room gas boiler

For such a connection, a piping with two pumps is used. It is this that can replace the circuit with a three-way sensor. The main thing is to separate the coolant flows. In this case, it would be more correct to say that the two circuits operate synchronously.

To a double-circuit gas boiler

The main components of this connection scheme will be two magnetic valves. The bottom line is this - the boiler is used as a buffer. Cold water comes from the water supply network. The DHW inlet valve is closed. If you open it, water will first flow from the buffer, which is the boiler. The buffer contains heated water, the consumption of which is regulated by the capacity of the boiler and the set temperature.

Scheme using a hydraulic collector

To equalize coolant flows in systems using several circuits, there is a device called a distributor or also called a hydraulic manifold. This allows you to balance different pressures in the circuits. It can be eliminated, but this will cause additional difficulties associated with adding balancing valves to the circuit. And this makes installation and adjustment of the entire system difficult.

Wiring a solid fuel boiler with an indirect heating boiler

Connecting a water heater with a solid fuel boiler solves two problems at once:

  • obtaining hot water supply;
  • obtaining a method for discharging coolant in the event of an accident.

Due to the fact that such a system places a thermostatic valve on the battery, comfort increases. But there is a danger of the boiler overheating. The same threat arises during power outages. If a boiler of increased capacity is installed, this process does not pose any danger. Because excess heat is spent on heating water in the water heating tank. Accordingly, for normal operation This system requires a boiler with natural ventilation.

See the following video for one of the options for connecting a solid fuel boiler to a boiler.

Common installation mistakes

During installation or during the commissioning process, you should try to avoid a number of mistakes:

  • The boiler and boiler are installed far from each other. Their installation should not only be done as close to each other as possible. But, to simplify installation, the pipes are positioned correctly.
  • Incorrect connection of the pipeline with the coolant.
  • Incorrect installation of the circulation pump.

Proper installation, adjustment and configuration guarantee a stable hot water supply and allow all systems and devices to operate normally. This will prevent wear of parts and save on premature repairs.

Have a heating boiler but no hot water? There should be no doubts tormenting you. An indirect heating boiler will ideally “complement” an existing boiler and provide your family with hot water for all household and household needs. That is, 50% of the problems with hot water supply have already been solved. There is another 50% left, namely connection. And this is where our article will help you. We will consider not only the pros and cons of an indirect heating boiler (IBC), but also several options for its installation.

How does an indirect heating boiler work?

The operating principle of such a boiler is very simple. The water heater is connected to the boiler (you must first calculate the volume of the boiler in accordance with the power of the boiler), and the water in the boiler is heated due to the fact that the coolant energy from the heating circuit of the boiler is transferred to the DHW circuit and heats the water.

Indirect heating boiler

1 – thermostat with control system and temperature sensor.

2 – container, most often made of stainless steel.

3 – thermostat shell.

4 – boiler casing.

5 – thermal insulation (on average its thickness is 42mm).

6 – tubular heat exchanger.

7 – drain hole.

8 – cold water supply.

9 – coolant circulation.

10 – magnesium anode.

11 – hole for the outlet of heated water.

12 – panel for connecting to the power system.

Inside the container, as you can see, there is a heat exchanger (coil). Hot water circulates inside this coil and is supplied to the boiler from the heating circuit. It heats the liquid in the tank of the device so that it then enters the hot water system. As in any storage boiler, the anode is designed to prevent corrosion.

Before proceeding with installation, be sure to clearly understand the following rules. Believe me, they will really help you not only extend the life of your equipment (due to correct installation), but will also increase the efficiency of the boiler.

  • It will be better if cold liquid enters the lower half of the water heater, and hot liquid enters the DHW line from the upper part.
  • The direction of circulation of the coolant (water or antifreeze) is from top to bottom. That is, the liquid is supplied inside through the upper pipe, and comes back into the system from the lower.
  • The recirculation point will be in the middle of the water heater tank.

How effective is such a system? Yes, it’s quite simple: hot water in the upper half of the container will maintain its temperature for quite a long time (due to thermal insulation). In addition, it will gradually warm a new portion of cold water entering the tank.

How to choose an indirect heating boiler

In principle, the choice of BKN is very similar to, but let us briefly repeat the main points.

Volume- this is the very first thing they choose. Let's make it easier for you: On average, 1 family member should have 40-80 liters of water. There will be no problems with selecting a model of suitable capacity. Today, the indirect heating boiler market offers models with volumes from 200 l to 1500 l.

Water flow through the heating circuit– be sure to look at this characteristic from the model data sheet.

The value of this characteristic should be no more than 40% of the total volume of water that passes through the heating boiler.

Tank and thermal insulation material- you understand, the best choice for a container it is stainless steel. It is better to choose polyurethane foam or mineral wool– they have the best heat-insulating properties.

Advantages and disadvantages of a water heater

First, let's start with the good moments that will definitely please you and add confidence in your own choice.

pros:

  • There is no additional load on the wiring in the house, since the operation of the BKN is completely dependent on central heating.
  • Energy Saving! This is perhaps one of the most important points, since we all know how expensive it can sometimes be to use electric water heaters.
  • The operating efficiency is quite high and amounts to 90%! It turns out that heating losses are minimal, and all costs bear fruit.
  • Long term boiler service! You can safely count on 10-15 or even more years of trouble-free operation. Such indicators are achieved precisely due to the design of the equipment. The fact that there is no contact plays a big role inner surface heater and coolant with running water.
  • Instant hot water supply! One has only to turn the tap valve at any point of water intake and hot water will immediately flow. This is possible due to the recirculation of liquid provided in the device.
  • Universal use! BKN can be used not only with a boiler, but also with another heat source.

Of course, there are also disadvantages when using the indirect heating method.

  • Cash costs for redesigning the system. This will be needed if you initially planned only one boiler.
  • The high cost of the indirect heating boiler itself. It is slightly higher than the price of conventional gas and electric water heaters.
  • Long first “session” of heating water. On your first attempt, you may wait more than an hour for the water to warm up to the desired state.
  • The equipment takes up quite a lot of space, so you will have to dedicate an entire room to install it.

4 boiler piping schemes

So far, humanity has come up with only 4 main ways to install an indirect heating boiler. Each method has its own characteristics, as well as recommendations for use. Let's consider them in more detail.

Three way valve and servo actuator

This method is used when piping a single-circuit boiler and boiler. Suitable for both wall-mounted and floor-mounted appliances.

The servo drive in this circuit serves precisely to control the operation of the valve. This control occurs using the thermal relay of the boiler itself. It should be noted right away that to use this particular scheme you definitely need circulation pump And expansion tank. The pump is used to move cooled water from the DHW line to the water heater. That's why hot water will flow immediately when you turn the tap valve.

Expansion tank for water heater cannot be used for heating system. It's all about the temperature difference working fluid. The tank can only “withstand” water with a temperature of up to 70˚C, while the heating system can use technical fluid whose temperature can reach 120˚C.

The essence of the method: the dominance in the “boiler-water heater” pair clearly belongs to the boiler. So, the thermostat controls the valve. When a signal comes from the thermostat, the three-way valve redirects the liquid flow either to the heating system or to the domestic hot water supply.

For example, if the liquid in the boiler has cooled, the valve “sends” the liquid to the water heater coil to heat it. After completing this task, the coolant is redirected back to the heating system.

If your area has very “hard” water, then we recommend using a single-circuit boiler + boiler with a valve scheme, rather than a double-circuit boiler. All internal components and parts of the latter break very quickly with constant contact with hard water.

Remember to set the thermostat correctly! If the highest temperature of the water in the water heater tank exceeds the temperature of the water in the heating circuit, then only the water in the water heater will be heated. The turn will not reach the heating system, since the maximum level of water temperature in the boiler will never be reached.

Diagram of an indirect heating boiler with a three-way valve

System of 2 circulation pumps

As you probably already understood from the name, its own pump is responsible for the movement of fluid in each circuit. By the way, the boiler pump is mounted in front of the boiler pump - thanks to this, a three-way valve is not needed.

The boiler and water heater are installed in parallel, and their interaction will occur through the pump. By the way, the last word in the “boiler-water heater” pair again remains with the DHW circuit.

After each pump is required check valve. This helps avoid "contact" between two threads.

The essence of the method: Both circuits cannot work together. When the DHW line is activated, the heating system is switched off. But that's okay: the water reaches desired temperature very quickly (20-40 min.). During this period of time, the temperature of the batteries will not drop to a critical level.

Hydraulic boom method

A hydraulic arrow is the distribution of water flows in a heating system.

This method of tying is relevant if heating is to be done. large area(from 80 sq.m.), when the heating system is highly branched, that is, it consists of several “independent” circuits (DHW, heated floors, radiators, etc.). The arrow allows you to equalize the pressure and speed of water movement in all circuits.

Recirculation method in the DHW system

Connecting heating boilers and indirect heating boilers in the house

This method is possible if the manufacturer has provided a third input in the boiler, through which water will be recirculated. This is necessary to increase the rate of supply of hot water to the water intake point. Roughly speaking: we opened the tap and hot water immediately flowed, as we said before.

The advantage of this method: high water savings, since you will not need to wait for all the cold water to drain from the pipe until the turn reaches the already hot one.

What will be needed to implement this system?

  • Check valve– thanks to it, hot water will not enter the cold water system if the pressure in the boiler is high.
  • Safety valve n – will protect the water heater from damage due to pressure surges.
  • Expansion tank– stabilizes the pressure in the DHW when the valves are closed.
  • Automatic air vent– removes air trapped in the system.

Errors when installing an indirect heating boiler

  1. Incorrect installation location - the water heater should be located as close as possible to the boiler.
  2. Incorrect pump connection: the motor axis should be positioned horizontally (this will reduce wear on the bearings).
  3. Make sure that the pump is protected from dirt and various debris. Check strainers regularly.

Read more about general scheme You can learn the bindings from this video:

Remember! A properly connected indirect heating boiler can heat water to a temperature of 60˚C in just 30 minutes!

If you live in country house, then it’s no secret that in this case you can’t always get hot water. The fact is that in most towns and villages there is no general provision of hot water, so quite recently, people could only wash themselves by heating the water on the stove or bringing it to the required temperature with a boiler. However modern technologies allow you to receive hot water at any time, regardless of the presence of a centralized water supply. The most economical and modern water heater at the moment is a boiler. Today we will talk about its harness.

Hot water recirculation

Recirculating hot water will allow you to quickly get enough hot water. If you install a water heating boiler in your home, be sure to wire it up.

Thanks to recirculation, a pipeline is created through which water constantly flows and at the same time constantly heats up without having time to cool down. Because of this system, you will be able to get water as soon as you open the tap.

Such a water heating system can distribute the coolant over several heat receivers. For example, in the tap, in the radiator and in the heated towel rail.

To make such a system, you need to install a recirculation pump. In this case, the flow of hot water must be directed in such a way that it constantly passes through structures that require heat. By fulfilling this condition, you will receive maximum efficiency boiler

Types and piping diagram of an indirect heating boiler

Piping an indirect heating boiler involves connecting the boiler pipes to the water supply. This stage is considered the most significant, but at the same time difficult. The further operation of the boiler depends on the quality of the piping.

There are several ways of tying. Which one would be better suited for you, you need to look on the spot.

Types of boiler piping schemes:

  1. Trim using a three-way control valve and servo drive. This type of binding is the easiest to make. It is used when high consumption of hot water is expected. In this case, the boiler is connected to the main and additional circuits. The first ensures heating of water in water heating pipes, and the second makes warm water in the boiler. To make piping easier, a three-way distribution valve is used. A servo drive is needed to redirect hot water to heating and back. The thermostat monitors the water temperature, when it reaches the required level, the water is transferred to the servo drive, which redirects it to heating; after the water cools, it is taken back into the boiler.
  2. The connection with the use of two pumps occurs as follows: one pump is installed on the heating circuit, and the second on the hot water supply circuits. The pumps are controlled by a thermostat, which switches operating modes.
  3. Piping using a hydraulic arrow is used when, in addition to supplying hot water and common system heating, the boiler is connected to the underfloor heating system. The hydraulic distributor prevents system problems with a system in which each circuit has its own recirculating pump.

Each type of strapping has its own pattern. Which one to choose depends on your needs. For a private house with its own boiler room, all three options are suitable. If you want to install a heated floor system in your home, then use a hydraulic arrow to piping the boiler.

Basic principles for installing an indirect heating boiler

Installing an indirect heating boiler is far from the most simple task. It requires experience in similar work and increased care. If you are not confident in your abilities, then it is better not to experiment by trying to install the device yourself, but to contact an experienced technician.

Boiler installation includes several basic recommendations. By adhering to them, you can correctly connect it to the heating system.

Tips on how to install a boiler:

  1. The rules for connecting a water heater state that cold water should enter the device from below, and exit from above, already heated. Therefore you should pay attention Special attention the location of the hoses of gas and electric boilers.
  2. The boiler installation assumes that water or antifreeze will be drawn into the tank from top to bottom. Thus, the liquid enters the upper pipe of the tank and returns from the lower one.
  3. The recirculation should be located in the center of the boiler.

Recirculating water saves you a lot of time. After all, without such a function, you would have to wait until the water in the tap heats up and becomes warm. At this method heating liquid constantly circulates through the water heating pipes, due to which it is constantly warm.

Connection diagram of a private house with a boiler

In order for the boiler to interact perfectly with the gas boiler, its device includes a temperature sensor. It is responsible for the flow between two circuits: the main and DHW.

Connection diagram for solid fuel or gas boiler to the boiler:

  1. To connect a single-circuit gas boiler and a capacitive boiler, the method of piping two pumps is suitable for you. With this installation, a picture emerges of the synchronicity of both circuits. For the device to work correctly, you need to separate the water flows. As mentioned above, one pump is installed on the heating circuit, and the other on the water supply circuit. This method of tying significantly improves the quality of heating. However, very important in this option, installation of valves at the outlet of the pumps. Otherwise, heating and water flows of liquid may mix inside the device.
  2. If you want to connect double circuit pump with a boiler, use two magnetic valves. Here the principle is as follows: the boiler is used as a storage device. Water enters the device from the water supply. The DHW inlet valve is closed. Hot water accumulates in the boiler.

It is very important to know how best to install a boiler in a boiler room. There are 4 ways of such installation: horizontal and vertical wall-mounted, as well as horizontal and vertical floor-mounted.

Floor-standing boilers usually have a volume many times larger than wall-mounted ones. Therefore, it is strictly prohibited to install the boiler in a place other than the WTO, which the manufacturer has allocated for it.

Installing such a boiler on the wall follows the same principle as mounting electric water heater or columns. The only difference is that the tubes through which water will flow must face towards the boiler. If this is not done, then you will not be able to install the boiler piping with sufficient quality, and at the same time you will spend a lot of money.

Boiler piping is a responsible and hard work. If you are not confident in your abilities, then it is better to contact a specialist. However, after carefully studying the diagrams, you can do such work yourself.

Attention, TODAY only!

Life in a private home depends on the operation of the individual heating system equipment. Hot water plumbing fixtures and radiators are provided by a single- or double-circuit gas, solid fuel or electric boiler. The alternate connection of coils and the small volume of the heat exchanger makes a unit with two circuits ineffective for a family cottage. If there are several water points in the house, an indirect heating boiler is installed next to the boiler, which will use the secondary circuit coolant. Some models are additionally equipped with heating elements so as not to turn on the boiler during warm periods.

An insulated tank with a rectangular or round base is available in floor or wall type. For this purpose, the water heater is equipped with brackets or adjustable legs. The location is chosen next to the heat generator or closer to the main water supply point. The horizontal design allows the boiler to be mounted under the ceiling, and the compact rectangular model can be placed above the kitchen sink.

A metal or plastic casing protects the insulation of the container. A rigid polyurethane foam layer 50–100 mm thick retains heat in the storage tank, the surface of which is covered with glass porcelain enamel. The indirect heating boiler is equipped with a brass or steel coil in the form of a pipe laid in a spiral. Hot liquid from the heating circuit circulates inside. IN horizontal version the heat exchanger is located along the entire body or in a zigzag pattern at the bottom of the tank.

To avoid corrosion metal elements, a magnesium anode is immersed in the container. The “sacrificial” element requires replacement, as it gives up its electrons and dissolves. Heating is regulated using a thermostat, the sensitive element of which is located between the turns of the heat exchanger. Pressure is released through the safety group valve. The model with heating elements is equipped with a thermal relay and a separate thermostat.

The coolant is supplied to the upper part of the coil from the boiler circuit, passes in a spiral, gives off heat and returns to the return line. Cold water is pumped into the container through a lower pipe with a divider, which reduces the pressure and mixing of the heated layers. If heating country house or a dacha is provided by an electric double-circuit boiler, then an insulated boiler tank is used at night to accumulate and save heat. Hot water is supplied to consumers through the upper pipe. The circuit with a recirculation circuit includes a built-in pump that can provide pressure to a branch for a bathroom radiator or heated towel rail.

Strapping schemes

You can correctly connect a boiler in a private house with your own hands, which will reduce the cost of increasing the volume of hot water supply. The instructions for the equipment contain a manual and a harness on which the pipes are marked, the direction of the coolant, and the installation locations of taps and valves are indicated. You can connect the boiler to the heating and water supply yourself in three ways:

1. Serial connection to the boiler.

The pipe with the coolant coming from the boiler is divided into two branches using a three-way valve. One is connected to the upper pipe of the water heater, the other serves the heating system. The pump creates pressure in the supply pipeline before branching. Based on a signal from the thermostat, a three-way valve directs the coolant to the boiler coil or radiators. For constant disassembly in a private home or seasonal use at the dacha, the heating temperature is regulated by return solenoid valves, which are installed on two supply branches.

The indirect heating boiler is connected in series, that is, the outlet pipe with a shut-off valve is connected to the direct circuit of the radiators. As the coolant moves toward the heating system, check valves are installed in front of the tee. Cold water is supplied through a shut-off valve, filter and water heater safety group, which includes a valve, pressure gauge and drain fitting. The pipeline from the top of the storage tank is directed to the disassembly points through the expansion tank.

2. Parallel connection of the boiler.

The scheme with the movement of coolant under pressure in the hot water supply and heating system is suitable for periodic consumption of hot water in the country. Parallel operation of the circuits is ensured by inserting pumps into the supply branches after the tee. The waste coolant from the boiler enters the return pipeline. The storage water heater must be connected to the pump through a thermostat, which signals a drop in temperature in the tank. Movement in the coil speeds up the heating of water for consumers. A circulation pump is installed on the supply line. The connection of the water supply and distribution lines is carried out similarly to the option with a three-way valve. Shut-off valves are installed on all branches.

3. Serial connection of the boiler with bypass.

A pump is mounted on the supply line from the heat generator between the valves and connected to the temperature sensor of the water heater. A check valve is installed in front of the inlet pipe. A heating supply pipeline is connected to the outlet fitting of the heat exchanger, which is connected by a bypass to the boiler return. A circuit with shut-off valves in all areas allows you to heat water in the summer, bypassing the circuit with radiators.

It will be easier to correctly connect a double-circuit boiler to a heat exchanger tank with your own hands if the design of the unit includes a three-way valve and pump. The boiler in such a system works as a hot water storage tank. It is enough to install valves and gate valves on the supply and return pipelines.

The expansion tank is installed on the hot water pipeline regardless of the connection diagram of the water heater to the boiler. Membrane device compensates for the volume of heated liquid and equalizes the pressure in the consumption network. Correct prioritization, selection of compatible equipment and proper connection ensures a uniform supply of hot water and optimal heating of the premises.

How to connect the boiler yourself?

The water heater must not be overloaded existing system, when choosing a model, you should take into account the power of the heating unit. The volume of the tank is justified by the number of dispensing points and people living in a private house. If this is a dacha, then they are guided by permanent or periodic stay. A floor-standing tank is placed in a technical room next to the boiler, a wall-mounted tank is hung in the kitchen or bathroom.

For self-connection to the network water supply and coolant circuit, you need to stock up on a tape measure, level, drill, scissors for plastic pipes, a set of keys, seals, valves, valves and fittings. The number of pipes and fittings for piping is calculated according to a diagram that is drawn to scale with a depiction of the heating unit and existing plumbing communications. If the tank is additionally equipped with heating elements, care should be taken about the power supply. A cable with a copper core is laid in the wall to switchboard and connected to an individual machine.

Step-by-step instructions for connecting a water heater yourself:

1. The heat exchanger tank is installed on adjustable legs or fixed on brackets, which are fixed with dowels to the main wall;

2. turn off the boiler and drain the water from the circuits;

3. shut off the water supply and heating;

4. The coolant supply pipe is connected to the boiler safety group;

5. According to the selected scheme, a three-way valve or tee is inserted for a branch from the heating system;

6. if necessary, install a pump with shut-off valves;

7. connect the water heater thermostat to the head of the three-way valve or to the pump;

8. using an “American” (coupling with a union nut), the supply pipeline is connected to the upper fitting of the coil;

9. complete the connection of the boiler to the boiler by connecting the outlet pipe of the heat exchanger to the supply or return heating branch (according to the diagram);

10. At the connection to the cold water pipeline, a faucet, filter, valve and water heater safety group are installed in series;

11. through a coupling with a union nut, the pipe is connected to the lower fitting of the storage tank;

12. A line for distributing hot water with an expansion tank and a shut-off valve is connected to the upper branch pipe.

In the “double-circuit boiler plus boiler” system, you can connect the DHW line to the inlet pipe for cold water of the storage tank. Indirect heating is carried out from the heating circuit or by electric heating elements in combi models. To prepare a large volume of hot water, a water supply is connected to the tank, and coolant is supplied to the coil according to one of the schemes.

Nuances and installation errors

1. The boiler is installed using a level so that the liquid pressure is evenly distributed throughout the body.

2. In order for the water to heat up faster, the boiler must be located above the boiler.

3. Pipes, hoses and fittings are selected taking into account the temperature and pressure in the system

4. To correctly connect the water heater to the boiler, you must follow the installation diagram, side pipes The tank should be directed towards the heat generator.

5. A tank is installed on the hot water branch to compensate for water hammer.

6. The boiler safety group is equipped with a safety valve to relieve pressure.

7. In models with heating elements, grounding is provided.

8. Shut-off valves are installed on all branches of the system to disconnect and repair individual sections and equipment.
