He suggested that Russia could come to an agreement with Ukraine about Crimea, for example, “buy it.”
“I believe that if Crimea was so necessary, so necessary that Russia could not live without it, other ways could have been found. Buy it. Agree - I say roughly - find a way. In general, diplomats somehow come to an agreement, country," said the musician.
Makarevich noted that he would travel to Crimea purchased by Russia with great pleasure.
“It’s not a very nice story with this territory. If this was really done, as they explain to us, at the request of the overwhelming majority of the population, it’s still not entirely correct. Because there are laws, there are international agreements. They tell us about the referendum, but I have my own idea about this referendum... Little green men appear from another state and hold a referendum in your country. What is this? ", he says.
Later he called his words about the purchase of Crimea a metaphor.
“If there was such an urgent strategic need for the possession of Crimea, it was possible to find other ways to get it. Peaceful, conflict-free methods. I am deeply convinced that in the final calculations it would be cheaper,” Makarevich said.
Crimea Putin will give away horseradish
In June, in another interview with Echo of Moscow, Makarevich said that the return of Crimea to the Ukrainian legal field under the current president of the Russian Federation is doubtful.
“I think that our participation in Donetsk and Lugansk will fade, wither and imperceptibly come to naught. I hope so. Putin will give Crimea away, of course. Unfortunately, this is so,” the musician said.
Occupied Crimea
Makarevich said in April that he would under no circumstances go on tour to Crimea, since he considers this territory occupied.
Makarevich noted that after the Russian occupation of Crimea in 2014, he never traveled to the peninsula and added that he would not go there on tour, even if he received permission from the Ukrainian authorities.

Songs about Crimea
In February 2015, Makarevich recorded a new song, Conversation with a Compatriot, dedicated to the annexation of Crimea. In a lyrical and ironic form, the musician asks Russians what the annexation of the Ukrainian peninsula gave them.
“We had just started to live peacefully in the country when the country seemed not enough for us. And now I’m in shit, you’re in shit, everyone is in shit. Well, what did you need, brother?” Makarevich sings.
