In order to provide the said solutions, we provide a wide range of game security services to game publisher, including client-side protection, server-side middleware, and expert developer centric support (“Services”).
When providing the Services to game publisher, Kamu processes personal data of the players or other end-users (“Player” or “You”) who play or otherwise use the online video game or other services of game publisher (“Game”).
The purpose of this privacy statement is to provide you information regarding the collecting and processing of your personal data and information regarding your rights as a data subject in accordance with the applicable legislation in the EU. From this privacy statement You will find a more specific description of how your personal data will be processed when providing the Services to game publisher.
Purposes of processing
The purpose of processing personal data is to provide solutions against cheating and fraud in the game. In practice this means information is gathered of the Players interacting in the Game and the gathered information is exchanged between Kamu and game publisher.
Kamu uses your personal data for the following purposes.
- Preventing and resolving the consequences of incorrect use of the game (for example, unfair play and other unacceptable methods);
- Identifying and resolving the consequences of incorrect use of the game (for example, unfair play and other unacceptable methods);
- Collection of statistical data, analysis and audit of player actions;
- Identification of the player’s digital account;
- Adaptation of the Service to the needs of users;
- Development and provision of services; and/or
- Other equivalent uses.
Legal basis for processing
The processing of the personal data is based on a legitimate interest of game publisher and Kamu. In alignment with the various personal information protection regulations worldwide, Kamu has concluded that the legitimate interest to process the personal data is based on the following facts.
- Game publisher has a legitimate interest to prevent cheating and fraud in their game, and the data subjects are aware of the processing activities while having the option to opt-out of processing by not accessing the Game;
- The processing of personal data by Kamu is necessary to provide Services and prevent fraud in the games of Clients;
- Kamu only processes personal data which relates to interaction with the Game and the data is only shared with game publisher, the Customer operating the Game in question, for the sole purpose of Kamu providing the Services.
Kamu regularly assesses the legitimate interest for processing the personal data with a three-part balancing test, which considers the nature of the personal data, the reasonable expectations of the data subjects, and the likely impact of the processing activities. Based on this assessment, Kamu and game publisher have determined there is a legal basis for the processing of the personal data. The nature of the personal data is non-sensitive, while data subjects can reasonably expect game publisher to actively prevent and detect cheating and fraud in the Game. Game publisher has a sole discretion to decide what kind of the methods identified in the information are being interpreted as cheating or fraud, and what kind of sanctions are to be implemented, if any.
Additionally to the above, your use of the Game requires You to have given your consent to process your personal data as provided in this privacy statement. By using the game as provided by game publisher or by accepting the terms and conditions of the Game, You also accept the collection and processing of the personal data referred to herein and the terms of this privacy statement. The processing of your personal data is necessary for the performance of the end-user license agreement between You and game publisher.
If You do not wish or allow your personal data to be processed, do not use or access the game.
What personal data do we collect and process?
Upon registration or during the use of the game, the following data may be collected and processed about You.
- User and account ID;
- Game reports that mention you;
- Your movements and other behavior in the game;
- Technical information about the system used to play the game, such as motherboard manufacturer, CPU ID, graphics card ID, and general performance information;

The abovementioned data is primarily obtained from your use of the game. Additionally, player account identification data may also be obtained from the game publisher or the game publisher’ service providers such as Steam, GOG, and others (“Service Providers”). You have accepted these disclosures by using the Game or Service Providers.
Transfer of your personal data
Your data will be regularly disclosed to game publisher and the Service Providers in order to prevent or investigate misuse within the game and to the extent required to implement the sanctions for misuse within the Game.
Your personal information will not be sold, rented, leased, licensed or otherwise assigned or transferred to third parties except as expressly provided in this privacy statement. If business related to the Service or shares of Kamu are repurchased, sold or otherwise transferred, player data may be transferred to the party receiving the shares or business.
Transfer to third countries
Your personal data may be transferred outside the European Union or European Economic Area to the parties identified in this privacy statement.

Duration of storage of your personal data
General profile data and aggregated statistical data about You are stored for the entire duration of the legitimate interest of the Customer and the service agreement between Kamu and game publisher for the game.
Other personal data is processed in real time and stored for no more than 5 days. If the data suggests foul play, the necessary data can be stored for up to 3 months. If we determine that the data demonstrates foul play, it is retained for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes of this provision.

Access right
You have the right of limited access to your personal data that we have collected, as well as other information specified in Article 15 of the GDPR. You will not have access to trade secret information or intellectual property, such as information used to detect foul play or fraud in.

Automatic decision making
The processing of your personal data includes automated decision making. The data processing process allows us to determine if there are anomalies in personal data and may indicate to us that the game is being used inappropriately.
If You are considered to have misused the game based on the automated-decision making, You will be flagged and reported to the game publisher, who is the Customer operating the Game in question. It is up to game publisher to determine what consequences are implemented for the identified misuse of the Game. However, the increase in load is insignificant, so you should reduce the screen resolution only as a last resort, when everything else no longer helps.
Texture quality. Typically, this setting determines the resolution of texture files. The texture quality should be reduced if the video card has a small amount of video memory (less than 4 GB) or if you are using a very old hard drive with a spindle speed of less than 7200.
Model quality(sometimes just detailing). This setting determines which set of 3D models will be used in the game. The higher the quality, the more polygons. Accordingly, high-poly models require more processing power from the video card (not to be confused with the amount of video memory!), which means this parameter should be reduced on video cards with low core or memory frequencies.
Shadows. They are implemented in different ways. In some games, shadows are created dynamically, that is, they are calculated in real time at every second of the game. Such dynamic shadows load both the processor and the video card. For optimization purposes, developers often abandon full rendering and add pre-rendered shadows to the game. They are static, because essentially they are just textures overlaid on top of the main textures, which means they load memory, and not the video card core.
Often developers add additional settings related to shadows:
- Shadow Resolution - Determines how detailed the shadow cast by an object will be. If the game has dynamic shadows, it loads the video card core, and if a pre-created render is used, then it “eats” the video memory.
- Soft shadows - smoothing out unevenness in the shadows themselves, usually this option is given along with dynamic shadows. Regardless of the type of shadows, it loads the video card in real time.
Smoothing. Allows you to get rid of ugly corners on the edges of objects through the use of a special algorithm, the essence of which usually comes down to generating several images at once and comparing them, calculating the most “smooth” picture. There are many different smoothing algorithms, which differ in the level of impact on the performance of Block N Load.
For example, MSAA works head-on, creating 2, 4 or 8 renders at once, so the frame rate is reduced by 2, 4 or 8 times, respectively. Algorithms like FXAA and TAA work a little differently, achieving a smooth image by calculating only the edges and using some other tricks. Thanks to this, they do not reduce performance as much.
Lighting. As with anti-aliasing, there are different algorithms for lighting effects: SSAO, HBAO, HDAO. They all use video card resources, but they do it differently depending on the video card itself. The fact is that the HBAO algorithm was promoted mainly on video cards from Nvidia (GeForce line), so it works best on “green” ones. HDAO, on the contrary, is optimized for video cards from AMD. SSAO is the simplest type of lighting, it consumes the least resources, so in case of brakes in Block N Load it is worth switching to it.
What to reduce first? Shadows, anti-aliasing and lighting effects tend to take the most work, so these are the best places to start.
