DIY watering can from a plastic bottle. DIY garden watering can from an old plastic canister. Bottle bird feeder

Today I will make a watering can from plastic bottle. Since it can be difficult to reach with a regular watering can to water flowers, and some flowers require careful watering, I came up with a watering can for myself. Below I will tell you how to do it.

We will need: a plastic bottle of any capacity, a plastic tube longer than the length of the bottle (we used tubes on which to put balloon), knife and glue gun.

We make a hole in the plug slightly smaller than the diameter of the tube. I did it with a sharp knife.
We insert the tube.

It should reach the bottom of the bottle, but not rest against it.
We make a mark where we will cut it.

At the lower end of the length of the tube we make a cut. We make a second hole in the lid for the second tube. The length of the second tube can be any, I made a short one. Flowers will be watered from it.

The good thing about a glue gun is that it produces a thick, quick-drying layer of glue.
We insert two tubes into the holes made and glue/seal them to the lid.

When the glue has cooled, fill the bottle with water and use it by pushing the watering can between the leaves, down to the ground. When watering from such a watering can, the stream will be constant and not strong, and most importantly, there will be no “gurgle-gurgle.”

It may not look aesthetically pleasing, but it is fast and practical :)

Another tip. If you accidentally overwater a flower and the water starts running over the edge flower pallet, then you can close the short tube with your finger, squeeze the bottle, and lower the long tube into the water, then let the bottle restore its shape, and it will begin to draw water into the bottle like a pump.

Where else can this watering can come in handy:
Pour water into the iron reservoir.
Water carefully and in measured doses houseplants and seedlings.

Hello DIYers, as well as summer residents and gardeners! This August has finally taken revenge on the previous two abnormally cold and rainy summer months. It has already managed to pamper us with real summer warmth and even heat, but the situation with rains was the opposite, since this August there was practically no rain. Therefore, we had to again take up the watering cans and watering cans and water the garden beds. And then, in the midst of watering work, our purchased watering can nozzle for a plastic watering basin completely broke down. I must say that from the very beginning it was quite flimsy, and even earlier it had to be wrapped with electrical tape. But then a whole piece broke off and it became completely unsuitable for watering.

It’s true that we also have two old metal sprinklers with durable metal nozzles, but they are quite heavy and not very convenient to use. Moreover, it is especially difficult for women to use them. From this point of view, a modern plastic shower is, of course, much more convenient and therefore is used most often. Therefore, I decided to quickly make homemade nozzle for this watering, literally from what was at hand.

The materials I needed for this were:- An empty plastic shampoo bottle;
- A piece of old rubber hose. Tools needed:- Cordless drill-driver;
- Metal drill with a diameter of 2.5 mm;
- Knife;
- Shilo.

Making a waterfall

First I cut a small piece of rubber hose.

This hose fits very well into the neck of the shampoo bottle, since it fits onto it very tightly and firmly and no additional fastening is required.

However, in order to attach the other end of this piece of hose to the spout of the waterer, you need to remove a certain layer of rubber from the inside using a knife.

And this piece of hose fits quite easily, but at the same time very tightly, onto the spout of the waterer.

Now you need to modify the shampoo bottle by drilling holes in it.

To do this, you first need to mark and prick the centers of future holes with an awl.

And then drill them out with a drill.

After this, all that remains is to cut off with a knife from the surface of the bottle the pieces of plastic remaining after drilling the holes.

Then you need to rinse this bottle from any remaining plastic shavings that have gotten inside, and put on the previously prepared piece of rubber hose. And now our nozzle is ready!

Now you can put it on the spout of the waterer.

Hello to all DIY lovers.

Today I want to present a very simple manufacturing option homemade watering can from a plastic bottle, which is especially convenient to use for watering seedlings of various vegetable crops.

I was forced to make such a watering can by the need to provide convenience and ease of watering a large amount of water. vegetable seedlings, growing up on our windowsills at home.

The fact is that when watering from a regular watering can, the watering can itself must be held above and slightly to the side of the plant being watered, so that its lower edge is almost at the level of the container in which the plant is grown.
This method is well suited for watering flowers growing in pots and standing in one row on the windowsill.

However, if you have to water seedlings, especially those that are quite grown, and the containers with which are in several rows, then using a regular watering can is not very convenient. Because with this method of watering, the watering can has to be raised quite high above the seedlings. But at the same time, a stream of water falls from a great height, which can lead to splashing and erosion of plant roots, and if you lower the watering can lower, you can simply crush the seedlings.

That is why, especially for watering seedlings, I decided to make a special watering can from a plastic bottle with a long spout made of plastic hose.
Thanks to this design, when watering, you can hold the water bottle itself at the side of the seedlings, and the long spout can be inserted through the stems of the seedlings and thus reach the furthest containers with plants. In this case, water does not pour out of the bottle under the influence of gravity, like with a regular watering can, but as a result of manual pressure on the body of the plastic bottle.

To make such a watering can we will need the following accessories:

Materials:
The plastic bottle itself has a capacity of 2-2.5 liters.
Cork from a plastic bottle.
Transparent plastic hose with a diameter of 10 mm.
Tools:
Caliper or ruler.
Scissors.
Metal drill with a diameter of 9.5 mm.
Electric drill.

First you need to drill a hole in the plug. In this case, the diameter of this hole must be 0.4-0.8 mm less than the outer diameter of the plastic hose. This is necessary so that the hose fits into the hole of the plug with some tension, to ensure the strength and tightness of its connection with the plug.

Therefore, first we must measure with a caliper or ruler, outside diameter plastic hose. My hose diameter is 10 mm, so I took a drill with a diameter of 9.5 mm.

After this, insert the end of the hose into drilled hole traffic jams.

As I already said, the hose should fit into the hole of the plug with good tension, and its end should protrude from the bottom side of the plug by 4-5 mm.

Then, using scissors, we cut off a piece of hose of the required length, which will serve as the spout of our watering can. I made the length of the spout approximately 20 cm.

You can choose any length of the spout hose, depending on what and how you need to water.

And now our homemade watering can for seedlings is ready!

By the way, I must say that for greater reliability and tightness, I first wanted to glue the plug to the hose with hot glue. However, it turned out that the hose in the plug is already held quite firmly, and the tightness is well ensured. Therefore, I have not started gluing it yet, especially since if something happens, it will be possible to easily pull the hose out of the plug and replace it with a piece of the same hose of a different length.

Now let's try to water the seedlings from our watering can.

As I expected, watering seedlings from such a watering can is quite convenient, since the long spout can be used to “climb” everywhere, and at the same time, the plastic bottle itself is located on the side and does not interfere with seeing the place of watering, and also does not crush the seedlings.

It is also very convenient that the long spout of our watering can is flexible, and thanks to this you can water even the most hard to reach places by simply bending the hose.

In addition, another advantage of this watering can was revealed.
It turned out that if you do not press on the plastic bottle while watering, but simply hold it at an angle, then the water from the hose spout will not flow in a stream, but drip drop by drop, or flow in a very thin stream.

And this is very convenient when watering very small seedlings that have just sprouted from seeds and cannot be watered with a strong stream of water.
That is, in in this case This results in a very careful, gentle watering.

Another convenience of such a watering can is that if the capacity of one plastic bottle is not enough for watering, and you have to use two or three bottles, then there is no need to make such nozzles from a hose for each bottle.
Just one nozzle is enough, since you can simply, after watering from one bottle, remove the nozzle from it and screw it onto another bottle, and then after emptying it, move it to the next one, and so on.

Naturally, if necessary, several such nozzles can be made from corks with hoses of different lengths inserted into them, and possibly different diameters, For various options glaze.

But, nevertheless, for now, one attachment is enough for me.

Well, that’s probably all! Bye everyone and all the best!

Indoor, garden and garden plants need regular watering. Ideally, the applied water during irrigation does not erode the soil, so for irrigation it is better to use a specialized watering can that divides the flow into several thin streams. Although this is an inexpensive piece of equipment, it is not necessary to buy it, but can be made for free in a couple of minutes from a canister that would have been thrown away anyway.

Materials and tools:

  • canister with handle;
  • drill;
  • drill 2 mm.
The watering can will be made from plastic canister with a handle. Such containers are often used to sell milk, liquid washing powder and various household chemicals. The volume of the canister should be selected depending on the number of plants that will need to be watered, so as not to have to refill frequently. Such containers come in different capacities from 1 liter. and more.

Making a watering can from a canister

10-20 holes are made in the lid of the canister using a 2 mm drill. If you don't have a drill, you can burn them with a hot nail. To do this, he warms up over gas stove or an ordinary candle. To avoid getting burned, the nail should be held with pliers. It is better to burn the lid on outdoors, as smoke and the smell of burnt plastic are released.

To prevent the canister from deforming when pouring water, and the liquid flows out quickly, air must enter the watering can to prevent a vacuum. To do this, you need to make one hole in the handle near the neck with the same drill or nail. After filling, the watering can is ready for use.

The advantages of using a homemade watering can made from a rigid canister with a handle over an ordinary PET soda container are undeniable. This homemade product is much more spacious, it does not shrink when pouring, thanks to the handle it fits more comfortably in the hand, and water flows out of it in even streams without jerking.

To water the lawn and beds, make holes in the bottle and screw it to the hose using tape. Just stronger! In addition to watering the lawn, your kids will be delighted with this “watering machine”.

Watering can from a milk can

We take a thicker needle, heat it on fire, make holes in the lid...

Pour water into the milk canister and screw the lid into place. Lost your garden watering can divider? No problem, now you have a new one.

Containers for seedlings from eggs

Egg shells are an ideal way to grow seeds for seedlings. After the plants have grown, they can be planted in the ground along with the container. It will also serve as fertilizer.

Garden markers made from broken plates

If a cup or plate breaks - fortunately! Use it instead of garden markers and label the names of the plants. There is no need to spend money to buy them. Excellent signs are made from both plastic knives and ordinary branches. Popsicle sticks work too.

Another container

Bushings from under toilet paper- another option for an excellent container. Make four longitudinal cuts on one side of the sleeve and fold it like a box.

Fork repeller

To prevent curious cats and other pets from trampling your beds, stick plastic forks near each plant. Reliable protection!

Bricks instead of plant pots

Hollow (hollow) wall blocks Excellent for the role of borders and mini-beds for plants. They will come in handy not only in the garden, but also on the balcony in the city.

Shoe sections for vertical gardening

From old hanging sections, which are usually used to store slippers and combs, you will get very beautiful vertical flower beds.

Bottle bird feeder

We make four holes in the bottle so that one is higher than the other (at an angle of 45 degrees), insert old stirring blades, and pour in food or seeds. The feeder is ready.

bird repeller

Don't know how to protect your strawberry harvest from magpies and other birds? Try this simple method. Paint small pebbles with paints so that they look like berries and place them under the bushes a couple of weeks before the harvest ripens. Birds will try to peck them, realize that they are inedible, and by the time the real berries ripen, they will stop paying attention to something red among the bushes. This method works with tomatoes too! Only for them you need to use old red Christmas tree balls.

Mini-greenhouses made from bottles

From a cut plastic bottle (you must admit, it is absolutely irreplaceable in the garden).

Old trellises and pallets instead of cabinets

No matter how they are used! And this method, you see, is an excellent storage solution gardening tools in the barn.

free fertilizer for the garden

Instead of buying chemicals, use the water you used to cook your vegetables. Do not pour it into the sink, but pour it into a container and feel free to water the plants in the garden. This water contains a lot of useful things that plants really like. Of course, the water must first be cooled to room temperature.
