Step-by-step assembly instructions

Prepare 4 bars: 2 80 cm long, with a cross-section of 40x60 - they will serve as the rear legs, and 2 - 44 cm each, with a cross-section of 40x40 - as the basis for the front supports. Make holes in them for the bases and legs. Make the holes strictly at the same level. Therefore, the beams are laid with each other in such a way that their sections of the bottom of the legs are strictly aligned. Then use a pencil to mark the grooves. Their dimensions are 20x40 mm, and their depth is 15-20 mm. It is necessary that the inner edge of the holes extends 10 mm from the inner edge of the leg.

Important point! For each leg you need to make 2 grooves for the bases. They need to be made on adjacent edges of the legs (and not those opposite each other). The end result of the entire assembly should be a rectangle with legs.

Use a chisel to make grooves and remove any remaining sawdust from them. Finish the hind legs to perfection. To do this, you need to plan an edge from the bottom hole to the bottom of the leg and from the top hole to the top, creating a smooth transition from 60 to 40 mm.

Legs wooden chair ready, now you need to make 2 legs and 2 longitudinal bases. To do this, you will need 4 bars 350 mm long, with a cross section of 40x40 mm. On all sides, mark the dimensions of the spikes 10-12 mm. Cut out the thorns. They must be done carefully, since they must fit tightly into the prepared holes, without gaps.

Then take 2 bars 420 mm long, with a cross section of 40x40 mm. From these you need to make transverse bases. Then you need to make the same spikes on them.

All that remains is to make the back. To do this, it is advisable to use an edged board. IN in this case the back will be 420 mm long and 80-100 mm wide. On the inner sides of the rear supports, make grooves corresponding to the height and thickness of the backrest, and insert the backrest into them. Attach the seat with self-tapping screws. To create rigidity and for ease of fixation, add small braces between the bases.

The legs of the chair on the outer edge and the back on both sides can be made rounded and then sanded. Apply varnish and polish to the finished parts of the wooden chair. Give the varnish time to dry.

Please note that most furniture varnishes have a strong odor. Therefore, it is advisable to carry out this stage of work in a room where there is good air access. There are odorless, water-based varnishes.

To make a seat, cut the foam to a suitable size or smaller, but no more than 5 mm from the edge. Wrap it in thick fabric, securing it firmly at the bottom of the seat using a stapler.

When all the elements are dry and polished, assemble the chair, thoroughly lubricate the tenons with glue and knock them down with a mallet. You can use a regular hammer, but wrap the striking part soft material. It is important not to damage the varnish surface. Attach the back and seat using screws and leave everything to dry completely.

We collect all available parts. We are not installing the seat yet to see if there is any bevel or curvature. If everything is fine, then for greater stability, coat the joints with glue. And then we install the seat. And we tighten everything with self-tapping screws.

On each plank that is attached to the ends of the crossbar, prongs are fixed. The middle elements are not connected, since then the furniture will not be able to deform in size (fold).

The second option is with a backrest. It is necessary to prepare strips for the legs (2 pieces each, 0.55 and 0.9 meters long). Separately – 3 strips for transverse installation (34*5, 28*5 and 40*5). Taken for the back edged board size approximately 10*40cm.
