DIY laptop table. Homemade laptop table for bed. Increase your own comfort and productivity by making a laptop table with your own hands Do-it-yourself laptop table

If you spend a lot of time on your laptop, sooner or later you will be faced with the question of how to make it more stable. The commercial, in which the lucky owner of a portable device works outside of civilization, promises complete maneuverability and convenience in any place and time. Don't believe it!

Life truth

In fact, even in your own apartment, sitting cross-legged or lying on your stomach, it is problematic to complete the smallest task on a laptop. As a result, mobile technology takes a solid place on the table and is not much different from a regular computer. There is a path to real comfort - a laptop table. Making it with your own hands is simple, quick and, as they say, “for three pennies.”

Do as we do

Follow the step-by-step instructions - and within an hour you can be proud of the result of your own labor. The laptop table you make will be very durable, light and versatile. Because it can easily become a breakfast tray, a bench for relaxing in nature, just a children’s table, a support that is convenient to stand on to reach a high-standing book, etc.

Option #1: DIY Solid Wood Laptop Table

Necessary materials:

  • Wood glue.
  • Sandpaper.
  • Putty or primer.
  • Varnish for covering wooden surfaces or paint.
  • Hand saw.
  • Paint and brush.
  • Hammer, nails, screws.
  • Sponge or soft rag.

Step 1. Buy a couple of suitable boards at a building materials store or carry out an “inspection” in your own garage, you will probably find something suitable there that you can simply disassemble and just adjust to the required dimensions. Cut the blanks: table top, 4 legs and 4 parts for the “apron” that should be under the table cover.

Since the dimensions of laptops vary significantly from each other, determine the optimal dimensions in your case. We draw your attention to the ratio of parameters of wooden parts that should be observed.

  • Legs (2 x 2 thick) - each 23 cm in length.
  • A pair of long “apron” pieces, 63 cm each (1 x 2). Notice that the ends of the “apron” are cut at a 45 degree angle.
  • The side parts of the “apron” (1 x 2) are 28 cm long.
  • The tabletop is 66.5 cm long and 30 cm wide.

Step 2 (optional). You can sand the legs of the product along the edges. There is no particular need for this. They just look more aesthetically pleasing this way. In addition, such a laptop table is convenient to place in the bed, and there are no rough edges. If it is not available to you, this operation can be done manually.

Step 3. Place the table top face down on the work table and use one to attach all the backsplash pieces one by one.

Press firmly and leave for about twenty minutes to “set”.

If you plan to paint your laptop tables (photo below), be careful with the glue. It is better to remove the part of the substance displaced from under the parts with a sponge or soft rag before it hardens. Dried glue will prevent the paint from absorbing and will look like a dirty stain.

Step 4. Turn the tabletop over and nail it to the backsplash.

Step 5. Turn the tabletop over again. Place the legs in the corners of the “apron” with glue, and then secure the position with nails, and even more securely with screws.

In total, each leg must be reinforced with nails on both sides.

Step 6. Leave your work for a day. Let the glue dry completely.

Step 7 Sand the countertop It is not recommended to skip this step. This way you will save yourself and your loved ones from annoying thorns.

Step 8 If your tabletop consists of several fitted boards, then you need to prime the surface and, after drying, level the surface with putty.

Step 9 The most enjoyable stage is painting the product. Color is at your discretion and interior appropriateness. Don’t skimp on paint; use high-quality paint that will prevent streaks and last as long as you use the table.

It's time to try the table in action!

Option number 2: laptop table in bed

This version of the product for a mobile computer is slightly different from the previous one in design. Instead of a solid tabletop and legs, the master used slats.

In this case, you can follow the instructions above on how to make a laptop table. The sequence of work will be the same. Only the number of details will increase significantly. But it’s much easier to get them than a solid board.

Option number 3: “Zen style”

This may seem difficult to do for a laptop. But this is a false conclusion. You will be convinced of this as soon as you find out what the laptop table is made of. You can make it with your own hands in half an hour.

Necessary materials:

  • A wooden frame from an old painting, suitable for a portable device.
  • A piece of plywood with the same parameters as the frame. Actually, you can use a painting if it is painted in oil on fiberboard, since you had to tear it off. In this case, the working side will be the same as the back for the painting. However, depending on the content and integrity of the work, a pictorial plot can become a unique decoration for a designer’s table. It's a pity that the sample can't boast of this. Nevertheless, the table turned out excellent.
  • 4 thin slats (the dimensions must correspond to the perimeter of the table).
  • 6 durable slats for the legs of the product.
  • Wood glue.
  • Hammer.
  • 4 bolts and the same number of nuts.
  • Brush and paint or (optional).
  • Hacksaw.

Step 1. If necessary, strengthen the frame with glue and suitable size nails.

Step 2. Carefully nail the tabletop to the apron frame.

Step 3. Turn the workpiece over. “Set” thin restrictive slats around the perimeter of the tabletop onto the glue.

Step 4. Make the table legs in the shape of a wide "h".

File the tops and base of the legs at a 45 degree angle. This simple action will force them to stand not straight, but to extend at an angle beyond the edges of the table, which will add stability to the product.

Turn the tabletop upside down. Install the legs using bolts and nuts.

Step 5 (optional). So, your DIY laptop table is almost ready. If you understood and completed everything correctly, then the upper part of your product should consist of three layers: an “apron”, the actual tabletop made of plywood or fiberboard and limiting slats.

If necessary, before painting, you can prime the uneven areas and perfectly level the surface with putty. In this case, additional time will be required to allow each working coat to dry before final painting.

Apply varnish to the sides of the table and legs.

Step 6 (most creative). You can complete the work of making a table for a laptop in different ways: paint, decoupage, laminate, wrap with self-adhesive film, or come up with and implement your own version.

The model that served as a sample was painted red-orange. This contrasts well with the chocolate and coffee base of the table, giving it a unique “Zen” flavor.

I have an idea!

Comfortable tables for a laptop computer can be made from ordinary packaging cardboard, woven from wicker or newspaper tubes, from old and unnecessary things. But this is another master class.

In order to create a laptop table with your own hands, you do not need any special skills or extensive experience. The design can be made according to the simplest drawing, which even a beginner in this field can create. You can find product options that will be understandable only to professional craftsmen, but such methods are not of interest to us, because they require large investments. If you don't want to invest money in something you can do yourself, then you can try to hone your crafting skills.

Making a table

The main and main part for any design is its drawing. You can draw it yourself, find it on some portal on the world wide web, or even order it from some talented friend. Here the choice is yours. In addition to the drawing itself, the following things will be useful to you:

  • The most common sheet of plywood is about 15 mm thick.
  • Special loops for folding.
  • Glue.
  • Putty.
  • Self-tapping screws.
  • Hacksaw for wood.
  • Brushes.
  • Sandpaper.

Nobody forbids you to independently make changes to the presented list. If you suddenly decide to create table legs from metal material or add functionality, then this is not forbidden. But for beginners it is better to start with simple things. And when experience comes, you will be able to build more complex structures.

As we have already mentioned, in order to make a laptop table with your own hands, you should find or write a drawing.

Drawing

Well, after getting acquainted with the basic information, you can proceed to the main “ingredient” - the drawing. We invite you to take a look at a few main features that you will have to pay attention to during development:

  • The tabletop usually has a size of 30x60 cm. But, as we have already said, you can choose slightly different sizes. For example, if you want to add armrests to the design, you will need a larger tabletop.
  • Legs. This element is best made in the shape of the English letter Z. Some users prefer a direct type of support, but the most convenient and comfortable option is a folding invention.
  • Cup holder. The stand can easily be cut directly into the tabletop of your product, so that you always have a cup of invigorating coffee at hand.
  • Armrests. We have already talked about them in passing. These devices will help you achieve greater comfort while using your laptop.

To make a laptop table for your bed with your own hands, you need to be more specific about the desired option.

The most popular types of tables

In order to appreciate all the nuances of each product, you should familiarize yourself with the options in more detail.

Classic solid table

To make a monolithic structure, a beech board and other wood material for the tabletop are suitable. In this matter, one piece of advice applies to all the options used - the tabletop must have a thickness of at least 2 cm.

You should also remember that you will use four legs, which are fixed at the bottom of the tabletop at its corners. Self-tapping screws are suitable for fastening.

Important! This table option is suitable not only for a laptop, but also for reading, and even for morning breakfasts.

Folding design

Here you will need not only a tabletop, but also 2 or 4 folding supports. The supports can be small or wide, allowing you to use 2-4 supports respectively.

Important! Many people prefer to make two parts movable and the rest stationary. This is an extremely convenient option for those users who like to spend their holidays in the lotus position, using a laptop in their bed.

Movable structure with a special cutout for drinks

Not much different from the previous version, if you do not take into account the hole for the cup holder. Everything else is the same - tabletop, supports, corners and screws.

DIY folding transformable laptop table

This drawing will include armrests, a cup holder, and folding legs. The tabletop will have to be taken a little larger, and cutouts will also have to be made for the user’s hands. It is best to make the cutouts in the shape of a boomerang, which will allow you to not have to hang your hands while poking at the buttons of the computer device.

Important! Whether you need a cup holder or not is up to you to decide. This variation is most popular due to its wide functionality.

  • Finish all edges of the parts after cutting. If you neglect this, they will very quickly lose their original appearance, and you will pick up splinters and other unwanted things.
  • When using wood, it is best to use a clear varnish. Apply it in 2-3 layers and your design will sparkle beautifully, showing you the original shine.

Important! Also, these measures will help get rid of various kinds of destructive effects of moisture and temperature.

  • You can use a special wooden plate instead of a glass holder. Simply place it on the glue. Such measures will save you from unnecessary holes in the material, and they, in turn, have a detrimental effect on durability and strength.
  • The most common paints are suitable for decoration. With their help, you can apply any design, and then cover it with a layer of varnish. Varnish will help preserve the durability of the decoration.
  • Well, a youth version of decoration is vinyl stickers on the structure. The stickers can also be varnished to prevent them from falling off or fading.

Making a laptop table with your own hands is a great idea for those who spend a lot of time on the Internet or often have to sit at the computer. Laptop manufacturers claim that their products can be used comfortably anywhere and in any body position, but in reality a person will not be able to complete even the simplest task at a laptop while lying on his stomach or sitting cross-legged. Therefore, most often the laptop is placed on the table and used as a regular desktop computer.

But real comfort is still possible, and laptop tables provide it. However, these small but convenient pieces of furniture are quite expensive. The way out of the situation is to make them yourself. Such a table will be characterized by multifunctionality - it can be used as a breakfast tray, a children's table or a bench for relaxation.

Popular table models

Laptop desks are similar to each other, but still have some differences. All models can be divided into several groups:

  1. Classic monolithic table. To make it, you need to use a board made of beech or other material, the main thing is that the thickness of the tabletop must be at least 20 mm. This table is attached to 4 legs, which are fixed on the underside of the tabletop using self-tapping screws and corners. This model is the easiest to make and is suitable for beginners. The finished table can be used both for working on a laptop and for reading books, eating, and other activities.
  2. Table with folding legs. This model is similar to the first one, but it is more convenient. A folding table is suitable for those who like to use a laptop in bed or sitting cross-legged. To make it, you will need a tabletop and 4 standard legs or 2 wide supports, which are attached to the table using screws and nuts (or piano hinges). A variant of this model is a table with a cutout for a mug. This product allows you not only to work comfortably on your laptop, but also to drink your favorite drink.
  3. Table with armrests. In the manufacture of this model, an oversized shield is used. Special boomerang-shaped recesses are cut into the tabletop to accommodate hands. This model provides maximum comfort for the user.

If desired, the master can combine several options, for example, make a monolithic table with armrests or a table with armrests and folding legs. Other options are possible, the only limitation is the author’s imagination.

In order for the work to be done efficiently and the plywood table to serve its owner for a long time, the following recommendations must be followed:

  1. Carefully process the edges of the elements from which the product is assembled. If this is not done, the structure will eventually lose its original appearance, and the user may be injured.
  2. Cover the table with 2-3 layers of varnish (if chipboard or natural wood is used for assembly). The coating will give the product a pleasant shine and protect it from the negative influence of the external environment, for example, from damage from hot dishes.
  3. Place a wooden saucer in place of the hole for the mug. This plate is attached with glue, and the craftsman does not need to drill into the wood. The standard hole for the cup is a vulnerable point: if you press hard on it, the table can crack. Using a saucer allows you to avoid such developments.
  4. Use paints to decorate the table. Using paints, you can apply the desired design to the surface of the product. Then the image needs to be covered with several layers of varnish to protect it from damage.
  5. Coat the vinyl stickers with varnish. The use of stickers allows you to make the table truly attractive even if the artist has no artistic skills, but over time the stickers become filled with dust and dirt. To protect the stickers from contamination, they need to be coated with two layers of varnish.

When decorating the finished product, you can use any means to make the product truly unique. Beads, fabric and other materials will be used.

Standard wooden table

The easiest way is to assemble a classic laptop table with your own hands. Even someone who does not have furniture making skills can solve such a problem. To work, first of all, you need drawings of the future product. You can compose them yourself or find them ready-made and then adapt them to your own needs. The dimensions of the structure can be any, they depend on the wishes of the master and the dimensions of the laptop, the main thing is to maintain the ratio of the parameters of the design parts.

The furniture maker will need boards or a sheet of plywood at least 20 mm thick, as well as nails, screws, wood paint or varnish, primer or putty, wood glue, hammer, sandpaper, brush, handsaw, sponge.

First of all, you need to prepare the details of the future product. You can cut them yourself or order them from wood suppliers in finished form (in this case, when placing an order, you must indicate the dimensions of each element or provide the supplier company with a design drawing).

You can make a table of universal size; to do this, you should cut out the following parts:

  • tabletop 665x300 millimeters;
  • legs (20x20 mm thick) - 230 mm in length;
  • long parts of the apron (10x20 mm thick) - 630 mm (in this case, the ends of the parts must be cut at an angle of 45 degrees);
  • side elements of the apron (10x20 mm thick) - 280 mm each.

When all parts of the structure are prepared, you can begin to work. It consists of several stages:

  1. Apron installation. The tabletop must be placed face down on a flat surface, and then using wood glue, attach the apron elements to the tabletop, press firmly, and leave for 30 minutes to dry. If the product will subsequently be painted, the glue fragments protruding from under the parts must be removed with a sponge before hardening. Otherwise, the paint in these areas will not absorb and will look like dirt. When the apron is firmly glued, the tabletop needs to be turned face up and the apron needs to be nailed.
  2. Installation of legs. The tabletop needs to be turned upside down again. Then the legs should be installed in the corners of the apron, attaching them first with glue and then with nails or screws. Each leg must be secured on both sides. In order for the glue to dry completely, the structure must be left for a day.
  3. Sanding, priming. At the next stage, the table needs to be sanded with a grinding machine or sandpaper. This will make the surface of the table smooth and free of splinters. If the structure was assembled from several boards, then the surface should be primed, and after the primer has dried, it should be covered with putty.
  4. Decoration. When the plywood table is ready, all that remains is to varnish or paint it. It is important to use high-quality materials that will not crack during use. Now that the work is finished, it’s time to try the table in action!

Using the same scheme, you can assemble a table from slats. Although making such a product is more labor-intensive, the result will be more creative.

Table that folds

Many novice craftsmen think that making a folding table is very difficult, but in reality it is not so. To make it you will need:

  • a frame from an old painting, suitable in size for the future product (instead of a frame, you can use boards or slats of the appropriate length);
  • a sheet of plywood the same size as the picture frame (the picture itself will do, it will make the table more creative and interesting);
  • 4 thin slats, which in their length correspond to the perimeter of the table;
  • 6 slats or bars for legs;
  • 4 bolts, 4 nuts;
  • wood glue;
  • paint, varnish or self-adhesive film;
  • brush;
  • hammer;
  • hacksaw.

First you need to check the integrity of the frame. If its elements are not tightly connected to each other, then they must be strengthened with glue or nails. Then you should nail the plywood panel to the apron-frame, and then turn the workpiece face up and stick limit strips along its perimeter.

The next step is to assemble the legs in the shape of the letter “H”. The result should be 2 legs, reinforced with prongs (connecting strips). The tops and bases of the legs need to be cut at an angle of 45 degrees - when using the table, they will not stand straight, but at an angle, and thereby make the structure more stable. The legs need to be attached using nuts and bolts.

In order for the surface of the product to be perfectly smooth, the tabletop must be leveled using putty. When the table is ready, all that remains is to cover it with paint, varnish or self-adhesive film, laminate it or decorate it in decoupage style.

Creative table

The advantage of this model is the ability to change the position of the legs, the height of the tabletop or its angle of inclination. This gives the user maximum freedom of movement.

To work, you need a plywood panel, a sheet of wood or a panel from a cabinet. Along the edges of the shield, you need to drill 6 small holes - 3 on each side (they are needed for screwing in screws).

Then 2 leg supports and 4 legs are made from wooden blocks. To make the legs lighter, you can drill several holes in the middle of the bars.

Then gears are formed from the washer and secured to the legs. After this, a bolt is created from a nail, a spring from a ballpoint pen and a bicycle spoke to fix the table.

Then the shutter is inserted into the hole on the leg; for convenience, each shutter can be equipped with a cap made of thermoclay.

At the final stage of work, the structure is assembled: the legs are attached to the tabletop using screws. This completes the work.

Table with lifting top

This instruction will help you make a laptop table with a lifting top. To work you will need:

  • furniture board (preferably pine) measuring 800x300x18 mm (for the tabletop);
  • oak or pine bars with a cross-section of 30x20 mm, length 2000-2200 mm (for the frame);
  • scraps of furniture board or slats with a cross-section of 28x18 mm (for legs and legs);
  • dowels 30 and 40 mm long, 8 mm in diameter;
  • 2 loops 20x75 mm;
  • 4 M6x50 bolts with internal hexagon, 4 M6 nuts with Teflon, 12 M6 washers (for connecting the legs to the frame).

The work is carried out in several stages.

Assembling the support structure

First, a frame is made from bars. The craftsman will need blanks: 2 bars 720 mm long and 3 bars 220 mm long (for the sides). They need to be connected into a common structure using wood glue. Then you need to make holes in the 4 corners with a diameter of 8 mm and a depth of 40 mm. Holes are drilled into the ends of the sidewalls through the plane of the longitudinal strips. Then dowels are inserted into these holes to strengthen the structure.

In addition, blind holes with a depth of 20 mm and a diameter of 8 mm are made in the frame on the upper side. They are needed to install dowels, with the help of which the stationary part of the tabletop will be attached to the supporting structure. In the tabletop itself, blind holes 10 mm deep are drilled in appropriate places. In order not to make a mistake with the location of the holes, it is recommended to mark the drilling locations on the structural elements using a cardboard template.

Then you need to mark the location of future hinges on the frame. The first of them is located on the left side, at a distance of 60 mm from the edge of the support structure, and the second loop is placed on the right, at a distance of 305 mm from the inner edge of the left loop.

Making a countertop

The tabletop consists of two parts:

  • movable, size 490x300 mm;
  • fixed, 260x300 mm.

Both parts need to be made from furniture board. Then they should be closed with slats on the end sides. It is recommended to round the edges of the tabletop with an electric jigsaw, then process it around the perimeter with a router. The product can be equipped with a support bar that will prevent the laptop from sliding off the table. Recommended plank size: 260x20x10 mm. Instead of a strip, you can use removable dowels inserted into blind holes.

Assembling the legs

At the next stage, you need to make 4 legs 295 mm long and 4 legs 184 mm long. Each pair of legs is connected by two legs, one of which is installed along the edge of the structure, this increases the stability of the table on soft surfaces.

The legs and legs are connected using dowels or screws. In the second case, to improve the aesthetics of the product, special plugs are used to cover the unsightly screw heads. In the places where the fasteners are installed, blind holes with a diameter of 10 mm and a depth of 5 mm are drilled, screws are inserted into them, and then closed with plugs made from the same wood from which the legs are made. The plugs are attached using glue. If the edges of the plugs protrude above the surface of the legs, they should be carefully cut off with a chisel.

The holes for connecting the legs to the frame are drilled at a distance of 14 mm from the edges of the legs, and the edges themselves are rounded. Thanks to this, the legs can be easily folded and unfolded. In the frame for attaching the legs, holes with a diameter of 6 mm are drilled at a distance of 20 mm from the inner edges. The outer edges of the legs are cut at an angle of 65 degrees, which ensures the stability of the table on a flat surface.

Installation of the structure

When all structural elements are ready, you can begin installation of the product. The legs are movably connected to the frame using bolts and washers. If the skill level of the furniture maker allows, then submerged holes can be drilled for the bolt heads and the bolts can be hidden in the wood of the frame.

Then the tabletop adjustment and fixation unit (window clamp) is attached to the supporting structure; it is attached to the central crossbar of the frame and fixed at a distance of 300 mm from its inner edge. The finished product is processed with a grinding machine or sandpaper, and then coated with a primer and acrylic varnish for wood. The dimensions of the table when unfolded are 760x300x280 mm.

Relaxing while watching your favorite TV series or working on a laptop can become even more convenient if you have a special table.

By installing a laptop on it, you can sit comfortably on the sofa, without the risk of burning your feet with hot air from the cooling system.

A laptop table is no longer a rarity in homes. Now it is one of the integral and necessary parts of interior items.

The modern furniture market offers a wide selection of different tables for laptop computers. They are able to protect the owner’s workplace and extend the life of the laptop due to the absence of obstacles to the cooling system.

Choosing a laptop table

Knowing the basic parameters, you can easily select the required table.

First of all, you need to decide on the size of the countertop. It should not protrude much beyond the laptop, but there should also be room for the mouse.

A necessary design element should be a system for adjusting the height of the table.

The material used to make the table should easily allow hot air to pass through. The surface of the table should prevent the laptop from sliding.

Types of table designs:

  • folding. These tables are easy to store and do not take up much space when folded. Convenient for a small room.
  • stationary. Outwardly they resemble a computer desk, but are much smaller in size. The design may have various shelves, wheels and other functional devices.
  • tables - stands. It’s good to work on these in a sitting position. Thanks to its thoughtful design, the surface protects the owner from the flow of hot air blown out of the cooling system.
  • transformers. Depending on the required parameters, you can easily give the table the desired shape. Convenient to use while traveling.

When purchasing, you need to decide on the conditions for using the table. If you need to accommodate additional accessories, choose a larger table.

A small table with a limited work surface is suitable for performing one function - working on a laptop.

An additional feature is the built-in ventilation system. It provides maximum distribution of hot air flow and is a kind of protection against thermal wounds.

Many manufacturers can equip tables with additional elements: spotlights, stands for mugs.

Manufacturing materials

The main materials for making desks for laptop computers are:

  • plastic.
  • tree.
  • metal.
  • combined materials.

Plastic tables are lightweight and compact. Can be easily folded and assembled. They often have space for mugs in their set.

These tables are equipped with additional ventilation and lighting. The advantages include low price. The disadvantages are durability.

Unfortunately, tables made of plastic are easily deformed under the influence of external loads.

Tables made of wood or pressed bamboo are environmentally friendly. They have all the advantages of plastic tables.

In addition, they have the best ventilation system. The only subjective drawback may be the large size. The natural texture of the material can harmoniously complement the interior of the room.

Aluminum tables are durable. They will last you longer than tables made of wood or plastic.

They can be presented in a wide variety of configurations and have many options for adjusting parameters.

Making tables from different materials helps highlight positive qualities such as strength, lightness, environmental friendliness and a beautiful decorative appearance.

Such furniture will fit well into any interior. The combination of different materials allows you to get universal tables.

Photos of laptop table options

The laptop is specially designed for user mobility. With its help you can work, communicate with friends, watch videos anywhere and in any position.

It’s very convenient to wrap yourself in a warm blanket after an evening shower and read new messages on social networks or email before going to bed. But you can’t talk about comfort if you have to hold the laptop on your lap and use a touch-sensitive mouse.

In addition, proper operation of the laptop involves placing it on a flat, hard surface during operation to ensure full functioning of the cooling fan. Let's look at some interesting ideas for making your own laptop stands and tables.

Wooden table options

It’s difficult to find such a piece of furniture in a store, so it’s easier to make a laptop table with your own hands. The task is easier when you have woodworking skills.

Option 1

A table made of natural wood looks stylish and noble.

The tabletop consists of two parts: one is rigidly fixed and is used for a computer mouse, connected devices and a cup of coffee, the other is movable with height adjustment for convenient placement of the laptop. To support the laptop, a wooden plank is screwed at the bottom of the moving part. In addition, the table has folding legs, which makes it compact for storage.

To make a tabletop, you can use glued furniture panels made of beech, ash or oak, as well as parts of old furniture. For the legs you will need small bars. First, a supporting frame is made, to which the tabletop and legs are subsequently attached. The structural parts are secured with bolts.

The movable part of the tabletop is connected to the frame with two hinges. To adjust the angle of inclination, a clamp for plastic windows is installed. At the last stage, the wooden table must be treated with a tinting coating and colorless varnish.

Option 2

A cute and elegant folding transforming table can be made not only from wood. The following photo shows a light small table made from unused chipboard scraps. The rounded corners of the tabletop and legs complicate the manufacturing process, but give the product a special grace.

As a laptop stand, two thrust bearings are screwed into the tabletop, which can be unscrewed freely if necessary. To fix the movable part of the tabletop in the raised position, a steel rod is used, which is inserted into a recess on the reverse side of the tabletop. In this version, the angle of the tabletop is not adjustable.

To get high-quality processed parts without chips, it is advisable to order cutting at any nearby furniture workshop. However, if you have all the necessary tools and skills, you can achieve a good result with your own hands. The parts are assembled using Euroscrews; the moving part of the tabletop is secured with a piano hinge. The stand (steel bar) for the tabletop is attached to the crossbar of the frame.

Option 3

To make a light and comfortable laptop table, shown in the next photo, plywood is suitable. The adjustable movable part of the tabletop has small holes for better ventilation and prevention of overheating. The legs, as in previous versions, are foldable.

Cutting and assembling parts is carried out in the same way as in previous versions. A fastener for the moving part of the tabletop, made in the form of a frame, is attached to its inner side. To fix it in the desired position, the latch is inserted into one of three grooves on the crossbar of the frame.

Option 4

A simple small table made of wood with a solid, beautifully curved top can be used not only for working on a laptop, but also for writing or drinking tea on the sofa in front of the TV. It can be easily placed on the bed, and if necessary, can be quickly removed by folding the legs.

To assemble such a table, it is enough to cut out three parts and movably connect them using hinges.

Option 5

Another easy-to-use option for a small multifunctional table.

This homemade accessory has non-folding legs and a solid tabletop. Its dimensions are optimal for a laptop and breakfast in bed.

The following models also have a simple design.

Option 6

You can quickly and easily make your own laptop table from inexpensive chipboard or MDF material. This piece of furniture will not attract unnecessary attention and will fit harmoniously into a modern interior. It can also be used as a bedside table for your phone, watch and other small items.

Option 7

If you do not want to use any screws or screws, then the next option is yours. For those who know how to cut beautifully with a jigsaw, making such a masterpiece will not be difficult. The shaped legs are simply inserted into holes in the tabletop made of thin plywood.

Laptop stands made of plastic pipes

Cuttings of water and sewer pipes after repair or construction work can be useful for making an original stand.

It will take very little time to make a laptop stand with your own hands from PVC plastic pipes. First, the pieces are cut according to the size of the laptop, and then they are connected using corners when heated, as shown in the video. The finished product is coated with spray paint. The color is chosen to match the interior or personal preference.

The result is a neat and convenient stand at a very low cost.

No less practical is the following version of the table, which is convenient to use while sitting on the sofa or bed.

The advantage of this option is that such a table-stand can be moved close to the sofa and take up minimal space, and its height allows you to work comfortably in a sitting position.

The most cost-effective laptop stands in minutes

If you need to solve the problem of cooling the device quickly and inexpensively, then you can use thick cardboard from old boxes of household appliances. Cardboard stands do their job well and take up little space on the desktop.

The idea shown in the photo consists of only three cutouts, which are connected using slots on the side supports. The advantage of this option is the simplicity of the design. To make the product fit better into the interior, the cardboard can be covered with wrapping paper or painted.

A slightly different design is proposed in the next photo.

A homemade laptop stand can also serve as an organizer, as in the photo below.

To make it, ventilation holes and holes for round legs are cut out of thick cardboard on the tabletop. The legs are made from cardboard cylinders of any available diameter. Inside the cylinders, a bottom is installed at the required height made of foam plastic or cardboard, which acts as a depth limiter for the stand leg. The legs are then screwed tightly into the holes on the tabletop.

Thus, using available materials, you can make high-quality and reliable laptop stands without additional financial costs.
