Cabbage salad with oranges. Cabbage stewed with oranges. Salad Ease necessary products

With the arrival of cold winter days, we strive to diversify our family’s diet not only with tasty, but also healthy dishes with a maximum content of vitamins and other useful substances. It's no secret that one of the products that perfectly helps us with this is the beautiful white cabbage. This wonderful vegetable can be used to create a huge number of delicious first and second courses, vitamin-rich salads and snacks, and aromatic pastries.

The closer we get to the New Year holidays, the more often the delicious smell of juicy oranges floats in the air. And it goes without saying that bright exotic fruits also do not bypass modern cooking. Gone are the days when orange balls were only found in fruit bowls! Nowadays, the use of oranges in cooking is much more extensive! And then, one December day last year, I suddenly wanted to conduct an experiment, adding a little exotic to the food that is familiar to all of us. As a result, on the dinner table there was a dish with incredibly aromatic and amazingly tasty stewed cabbage with oranges! Unusual? Yes! But this dish is worth trying!

To prepare stewed cabbage with oranges, you will need:

white cabbage – 1 kg
minced chicken – 500 g
oranges – 400 g
onions – 200 g
garlic – 2 cloves
cumin seeds – 1 tsp.
sunflower oil
ground black pepper
salt

How to cook stewed cabbage with oranges:

1. Chop white cabbage into thin strips using a sharp knife, a special grater or a food processor.
2. Peel onions and garlic and chop finely.
3. Wash the oranges thoroughly under running water. Dry one fruit with a paper towel. Using a special knife or using a fine grater, carefully remove the zest from the prepared orange without touching the white subcortical layer. Simply peel the remaining oranges. Divide the fruit into individual slices and remove the thin skin from each slice. Cut the orange pulp into small cubes.
4. Place chopped onions and garlic in a cauldron or large saucepan with preheated sunflower oil. Stirring occasionally, fry the vegetables until half cooked.
5. Add minced meat, cumin, ground black pepper and salt to taste to the fried vegetables. Mix all ingredients and continue frying for another 5 minutes.
6. Put the orange zest into the cauldron, mix everything again and cook for another 5 minutes.
7. Place cabbage and oranges in a cauldron and mix with minced meat. Cover the dish with a lid and cook (simmer) over low heat for 35-40 minutes.
8. When the cabbage becomes soft enough, turn off the heat under the cauldron and let the dish sit under the lid for 5-10 minutes.
9. Place the stewed cabbage with oranges into portioned plates and serve.

To prepare stewed cabbage according to this recipe, you can use not only chicken, but also any other minced meat at your discretion. I have tried adding mixed (pork + beef) and even ground turkey. In addition, you can stew cabbage with coarsely chopped meat (just cut tender chicken fillet or lean pork into small pieces and stew with vegetables). Before serving, the dish can be seasoned with sour cream (or natural yogurt). To make stewed cabbage with oranges look even brighter and more appetizing, garnish each serving with lettuce leaves, a cherry tomato and a sprig of fresh dill.

Hello friends, I offer you a light salad of Chinese cabbage with orange.

I thought long and hard before making this salad. Combination cabbage with orange It was not usual for me, everything was more like I made other salads with cabbage, for example. But, still, I wanted to try something new and unusual for me. Moreover, a friend promised to come visit. So......a friend is on the way, everything you need is in the refrigerator, let's get started.

Salad Ease necessary products

300-400 grams of Chinese cabbage

1 orange

0.5 cans of canned corn

Soy sauce, lemon juice, vegetable oil

Pomegranate seeds for decoration

Preparation:

Shred the cabbage, peel the orange and cut it. Mix everything, add corn. Add a little salt and add the orange juice that formed when we peeled the orange. Just a few drops of lemon juice and soy sauce. Season with vegetable oil. Garnish with pomegranate seeds and add greens if desired.

To be honest, the taste was very surprising. I imagined a combination of ingredients, but it turned out to be just great. The salad turned out so light and sunny. My friend appreciated it, she also liked the combination of lightness and vitamins in this salad. Overall, a light salad with great flavor. Try it, you won't regret it.

Bon appetit.

Our lightness salad is ready, I invite you to the table and wish you a pleasant appetite. I really want summer! To you too? What is your favorite salad that you would be willing to eat every day? I have this

Step 1: Prepare the cabbage.

Wash the cabbage and remove the withered leaves. Also, do not forget to remove the stalk from the head of cabbage. Divide the remaining cabbage in half and, placing each part one by one on a cutting board, finely chop it into strips.
Pour the chopped cabbage leaves into a salad bowl, add a little salt, literally on the tip of a knife, and mix with your hands, lightly kneading and squeezing out the juice.

Step 2: Prepare the oranges.

Rinse both oranges thoroughly with warm running water. Now take one of the fruits first and use a knife to cut off the zest from it along with the whitish skin so that only bare pulp remains in front of you. Cut the peeled fruit into thin slices, picking out the seeds along the way. Then cut the resulting circles into even smaller slices.
Now go back to the remaining orange. Divide it into halves and squeeze the juice out of each using a special device. If you don’t have a juicer, you can do this with your hands, but then you need to cut the orange into slices, and then cut each of the slices in two places, without cutting to the zest. After these simple steps, it will be easier to squeeze the juice out of an orange by hand.

Step 3: Prepare the greens.

Rinse the greens with warm water to make the parsley more flavorful. Shake off excess moisture from the leaves and cut them into small pieces; there is no need to chop the greens into porridge.

Step 4: Prepare the dressing.

Pour the juice of one orange into a fairly large bowl, then add wine or apple cider vinegar and olive oil. Using a fork, mix all these ingredients together to make the liquid more homogeneous.

Step 5: Mix coleslaw with orange.

Place pieces of orange pulp, parsley and basil in a salad bowl with cabbage mashed with salt. If necessary, add more salt and sprinkle everything with ground black pepper. Lastly, pour in the specially prepared dressing and mix the salad thoroughly, after which it will be completely ready to serve.

Step 6: Serve the coleslaw with orange.

Cabbage salad with orange is not only tasty and original in itself, but will also help you highlight your main hot dish, especially if it is made from poultry or fish. Therefore, feel free to serve it both for your everyday lunch or dinner, and pamper your guests with it.
Bon appetit!

You can add some green onions and even fennel to this salad.

Cabbage salad with orange tastes best if you prepare it from young cabbage, the leaves of which are greener and juicier.

Cabbage salad with orange even tastes a little better after it sits in the refrigerator for a while.

Ingredients:

2 large oranges (I try to choose the Navel variety)
300 g cabbage (white or savoy)
small bunch of green basil
small bunch of parsley
several green onions
3 tbsp. l. apple or white wine vinegar
2 tbsp. l. olive oil
salt and pepper to taste

Shred the cabbage thinly and lightly mash with a pinch of salt.

Squeeze the juice from one orange (we will need 2 tablespoons), peel the second, cut into slices, cut each slice into 4 parts.

Chop the greens not very finely.

We are preparing the dressing. To do this, mix vinegar, orange juice and oil. Beat with a fork.

Mix greens, cabbage, oranges and dressing in a salad bowl. Salt and pepper to taste. Let's serve.

Bon appetit!
