How to treat a money tree. How to deal with limp and red leaves on Crassula

Why did the money tree fall? The most common sign that the fat plant is sick is the dropping of leaves. For tree crassulas this process is not scary. But this is only if the leaves fall from the old part of the tree. If healthy leaves are shed, then you need to look for the reason why this is happening and eliminate it.

As a succulent, Crassula has the ability to accumulate moisture in its tissues. Too frequent watering leads to rotting of the roots, wilting of the plant and then Crassula sheds leaves. For Crassula, moderate watering is suitable as the earthen clod in the pot dries out.
In winter, the fat plant is dormant and is watered 1-2 times a month, depending on where it is kept.

What to do if the leaves fall?

It is very important to pay attention to the fact that it is better not to add water than to fill the soil in the pot. Because if watered too much it rots root system and Crassula dies.

To save a money tree if the roots have rotted, it should be transplanted urgently.

To do this, get rid of old land, rotten roots are removed, the cuts are covered with crushed coal and transplanted into a smaller pot with good drainage. The substrate must be moist and consist of turf, leaf, peat soil and coarse sand (the ratio here is 1:1:0.5:1).

Another sign of excess moisture and rotting of the root system is that the trunk became soft. To save Crassula, you must immediately replant it.

If you neglect the rules of care and water the money tree abundantly, then stagnation of water in the soil will cause fusarium rot. The roots of the plant rot and a pale pink coating forms on the root collar. After this, the leaves become wadded and wrinkled. New shoots appear, but immediately fall off. To stop the spread of rot, it is necessary to adjust watering and use a suspension of foundationazole (2 g per liter of water) to treat fatty acids. Only transplantation can protect Crassula.

Prolonged heat can also cause leaves falling from the Crassula. Apparently healthy leaves are shed, in place of which, after some time, new leaves grow. Crassula does not like watering cold water from the tap. The water should be warm and settled.

In the heat, if there is not enough watering and, especially if the fat plant is in direct sunlight, leaves turn yellow and also fall off.

If on a fat woman leaves become soft and limp, this means that it was watered too often. You need to stop watering until the soil in the pot dries out. It is very important to choose a pot for planting with a hole at the bottom. Place at least 2 cm of drainage at the bottom - pebbles, expanded clay or even broken bricks.

Brown and yellow spots on Crassula leaves may indicate that the fat woman is affected by a bacterial or fungal infection. It is recommended to examine it, remove diseased leaves and treat it with a complex preparation to combat bacterial and fungal infections.

Blackening of leaves This happens because the money tree is not protected from direct sunlight. Black spots are sunburn. In such cases, immediately remove the plant under a canopy.

If on a money tree leaves wrinkle, then it lacks moisture. Watering should be adjusted and the leaves will look healthy. It should be noted that if there is insufficient watering, the fat plant may also dry leaves.

It happens very often in autumn-winter period that Crassula is healthy, but leaves fall. This means that there is a need for additional lighting. Transfer the fat plant to a light windowsill, preferably on the southeast side. And if this does not solve the problem, then additional artificial lighting is used.

Upper layer The skin of the Crassula leaf, over time, ages and crumbles. Formed silvery patina, which many take for a disease. But there is no need to be scared, this is a natural process. When appeared on the leaves white coating , then this indicates a suspicion of tick infestation. If this plaque smells like mold, then it is a fungus, possibly powdery mildew, and it is necessary to treat it with Fundazol or Fitosporin. If there is no smell, then it is mites and treatment is carried out with Aktara and Fitoverm.

Sometimes money tree withers. Then it needs to be inspected and if the roots have rotted due to overwatering, then replanting is inevitable. Be sure to place the Crassula in diffused light and water it a little from the tray during the first month. The problem here is poor lighting.

Very often, at the beginning of spring, the leaves on the money tree turn red. Daylight hours are increasing, there is more light. In Crassula, the process of photosynthesis may be disrupted - the green pigment chloroform is destroyed and replaced by other enzymes. It is necessary to ensure that if the leaves of the Crassula have turned red, they should be removed from a well-lit window deep into the room. And in a few days the leaves will turn green again.

It happens that at money tree small leaves. This occurs when there is a lack of light or lack of nutrients. To fertilize, use a special fertilizer for succulents and you should pay attention to ensure that there is less nitrogen than phosphorus and potassium. Since excess nitrogen leads to rotting of the roots.

Pests

Another problem faced by the Crassula is pests. The most common are scale insects, mealybugs, spider mite and thrips.

When the Crassula started up scale insect, this is immediately noticeable by brown or yellowish spots on the leaves. Treat the affected areas with alcohol or kerosene, then wash with soap and water, and then clean water. Rubbing the leaves with vodka every 5-7 days has a good effect. Chemical preparations such as Fitoverm, Arrivo, and Fufanon are suitable.

Spider mite visible even to the naked eye. These are small white or red bugs. First, yellow spots appear, then the leaves of the crassula become brown, and a dry brown crust forms. To combat ticks, the drugs “Karate”, “Fitoverm”, “Agravertin” are recommended. Among folk remedies You can use treatment with soap solution, as well as garlic and tobacco infusions.

Mealybug located on the roots and leaves of the Crassula in the form of formations that resemble cotton wool. Simply rinse it off with water and wipe the area with alcohol or garlic tincture. To be more convincing, you can also treat the plant by special means- Aktara, Tiofos, Vertimek, Mospilan, Fitoverm. If the roots are damaged, then you need to replant the fat plant by keeping the roots for 15 minutes in a solution of any of the above drugs.

Very often in summer heat Crassula is affected thrips. At the same time, the leaves turn yellow and a slight silvery sheen appears. If the infection is severe, the leaves turn yellow and fall off. In this case, you can wash and spray the Crassula with garlic infusion (dilute 1 teaspoon of chopped garlic in 1 glass of water) or treat it with insecticidal preparations (Decis, Karate, Fitoverm).

When the fat woman stretched out greatly, then this indicates poor lighting in the room. To eliminate this reason, you just need to move it to a brighter place.

How to save if the plant begins to die?

First of all, it is advisable to find out and eliminate the reason from which it dies. If the trunk of the money tree has become sluggish and tilts downwards, the leaves fall off, then in this case it is necessary to urgently replant the fat plant. To do this, remove it from the pot, rinse it under running water, inspect the roots and remove any rotten ones. It is very important not to forget to sprinkle the root sections with chopped activated carbon. Next, you need to let the roots dry and then plant the fat plant in a flowerpot with damp soil, not forgetting to put at least a two-centimeter layer of drainage on the bottom. Do not water until the coma dries out. After this, it is recommended to use Kornevin or Heteroauxin solution for watering.
Crassula is taken out to a well-lit area, protected from direct sun rays, place.

To revive the money tree, you can add biostimulants Epin or Zircon to the water for irrigation.

From all of the above, we can conclude that Crassula is easy to care for and all diseases of this plant occur only through the fault of its owners. If you follow all the recommendations for caring for Crassula, then it will thank you for this not only with its beautiful aesthetic appearance, but also with its amazing flowering.

Next you can see photos of diseases and pests of Crassula (money tree):

Signs of plant death:

  • The very first and surest sign is the dropping of leaves. An adult money tree can periodically shed leaves from old branches, but if the process covers the entire plant and new leaves die off, the Crassula must be saved.
  • The trunk of the plant has become soft and flabby - this is also a sure indicator of excess moisture.
  • The appearance of dark spots on the leaves indicates that the money tree has received sunburn.
  • The leaves dry out and wrinkle - and this is already insufficient watering. Check the soil moisture level often!
  • White coating on the leaves is an indicator of the appearance of a mite. If it smells like mold, it’s powdery mildew. Treatment required.

    Not to be confused with a light silvery coating that appears on old leaves as a result of abrasion of the plant skin!

  • Leaves may take on a red tint. This should not be alarmed - as a rule, this happens in bright light. It is enough to remove the plant away from the window and green color will recover.
  • Leaves that are too small indicate a lack of nutrition. The problem is solved by fertilizing, and the content of phosphorus and potassium should prevail over nitrogen.

Reasons for its decline

Reasons for plant wilting:

  • Watering. Excessive watering causes root rot, leaf fall and plant death. Remember, Crassula is a succulent! Lack of moisture is safer for her than excess.
  • Heat. Prolonged heat can also cause leaves to drop. After some time they will grow back. The difference from the first case is that the stem remains firm and juicy. And fallen leaves have a yellow tint.
  • Sun deficiency. During periods of sun deficiency (autumn - winter), the plant may become sick due to lack of lighting. Try to keep the money tree on its own bright window, or use artificial lighting. It is strictly not recommended to keep a money tree on the north side.
  • Diseases:
    1. Fusarium rot - the disease is also a consequence of excessive watering. Horses rot, the plant becomes flabby and lethargic. Young shoots die quickly.
    2. Various fungi and bacteria cause brown, yellow spots to appear on leaves. Such leaves should be removed and the plant treated with special preparations.
    3. Powdery mildew is a whitish coating that affects leaves and has a moldy smell.
  • Pests:
    1. Scale insects appear as yellow and brown spots on the leaves.
    2. Spider mites are small white or red bugs. First, small yellow dots appear on the leaves, then dry brown scabs.
    3. Mealybugs resemble white cotton wool on Crassula roots or leaves.
    4. Thrips - strikes in summer in hot weather. The leaves turn yellow and fall off. The plant is sprinkled with small oblong bugs.

What to do if Crassula dies?

How to revive a plant at home?

If the plant is in very poor condition, after replanting and adjusting watering, it is necessary to feed the Crassula. Add one of the preparations to the water when watering: Epin, Kornevin, Zircon. Follow the instructions for the fertilizer carefully.

What to do if the fat woman froze on the windowsill?

This will immediately become obvious from the appearance of the plant. The branches of a frozen plant will wither, turn black, and become watery.. All dead parts of the plant must be cut off. Sprinkle with charcoal powder. If the soil has also cooled and there is concern about the roots freezing, the plants need to be removed from the soil, inspected, pruned and replanted. Spray well with Epin. If you survived green cuttings you can cut them and root them, thus getting a new plant.

Crassula, or Crassula - tree plant Crassulaceae family, which has about 300 species. Most of the wild species are found in South Africa. Cultivated succulents are grown in apartments and greenhouses. Indoor view Crassula - Crassula portulata, popularly called the “money tree”, is a short tree with a thick stem and round, fleshy, glossy leaves that look like coins.

The fat woman is unpretentious indoor crops resistant to diseases and pests. It rarely gets sick, and diseases most often occur due to improper care of Crassula. The main symptoms that something is wrong with the plant are softening, yellowing and falling of the leaves, and the appearance of spots on them.

Did you know? It is popularly believed that the more beautiful and healthy the money tree, the more massive its stem and leaves, the more more money it can attract people to the home where it lives.

The main reasons why a money tree can become sick are excessive watering, lack of light and unacceptable temperature conditions. So, if you notice that the leaves of your plant have become soft, most likely you have flooded it. In this case, the fat woman should immediately provide first aid, eliminate the cause of the disease and begin treatment immediately.

To do this, you need to remove it from the pot and perform a thorough inspection of the root system. When found small quantity Rotten roots are removed. All leaves affected by rot are also trimmed. If most of the roots have rotted, they are removed surgical method. The rhizome is washed under water. Then the roots and leaves with signs of rotting are cut off with a knife. The sections are sprinkled with charcoal.

The plant is transplanted into new pot with a new substrate. Water with carbendazim solution. Then they place it in a bright place, avoiding direct sunlight on the plant. Careful watering begins only after the tree comes to its senses. In the future, try to ensure that the soil under the fat plant is not waterlogged.

Important! If all the roots are affected by rot, they are soft and dark, then it is too late to save the plant. It will also not be possible to revive a tree with signs of rotting at the base of the trunk.

There are several reasons why Crassula sheds its leaves. This may be a natural process. It is normal for the money tree to shed its leaves once every two years. If leaf fall occurs more often, then pay attention to the soil moisture; most likely, you are over-moistening it.

Watering with cold water is another reason for leaves falling.

Important! Crassula needs to be watered with warm, settled water..

Another reason for dropping leaves is a lack of moisture. This can be especially true during hot and dry summers. Pay attention to the soil: if it is dry, if there is a hard crust on the surface, especially for a long time, this can lead to the leaves on the Crassula beginning to dry out and soon fall off.

If the fat plant receives the wrong lighting, it is often burned by direct sunlight, it will give you a hint by turning the leaves red and quickly falling off.

Black circles on leaves

More serious damage to leaves from the sun's rays are burns, which appear as black circles. In this case, the plant must be placed in a new, illuminated place where the sun will not burn it. Affected leaves will need to be removed.

Crassula withers, turns yellow and dries out

Such manifestations most likely indicate that the money tree is hot. Most often this can happen in summer period. At such times, Crassula will feel best in the fresh air, so it will be better if you move it to a balcony, loggia, terrace, or courtyard for the summer. This can be done in the spring. With one condition - the place should be bright, but not in direct sunlight.

Why doesn't the fat plant grow?

If you notice that your money tree has stopped growing, there may be three reasons:

Did you know? The money tree is an unsafe plant due to the arsenic content in its leaves.

Sometimes the fat woman can roll over on one side and fall. This happens because the root system of the plant does not grow very deep. When planting Crassula, you need to choose wide, but not deep containers. For stability, you can sprinkle the soil with a layer of pebbles.

Crassula leaves have red-brown or yellowish spots

Brown, brown and white spots on Crassula leaves indicate that the plant is infected with a fungal disease. Treatment of fungal infection initial stage must be carried out with fungicides, strictly following the instructions for use of the drug.

The scale insect is a small insect (up to 5 mm), covered on top with a shield similar to a turtle shell. They settle on the leaves, trunks and petioles of the plant. When affected by this pest, the fat plant quickly weakens. The leaves first become spotted, then turn yellow and fall off. If treatment is not started in time, the plant may be lost.

There are yellowish spots on the leaves of the Crassula, a cobweb is visible between the leaves

Given the nature of the spots and the presence of cobwebs, suspicion should fall on the spider mite, another enemy of the fat woman. These are microscopic insects (0.3-0.6 mm) red in color with eight legs (although color can be variable). They lay their offspring in the web. They feed on the contents of plant cells.

The result of mite pests is a deterioration in the condition of the money tree and a decrease in its immunity. In addition, spider mites are dangerous because they are carriers of diseases, such as gray rot.

A good way to prevent the appearance of this pest on the Crassula is to regularly spray the tree and maintain high humidity indoor air. To combat this pest, treatment with a soap solution and the preparations “Akktelik”, “Fitoverm”, “Aktofit”, etc. is used.

In an apartment or own home The money tree is known for its amazing decorative features and ease of care. But it happens that the leaves of the money tree begin to fall, they become unpresentable in appearance and color. IN in this case appropriate measures must be taken urgently.

Why do money tree leaves fall and what can you do about it?

The main reason for this phenomenon is waterlogging of the soil. Because of this, the leaves on the plants begin to wither and quickly lose their attractive appearance. appearance. They become pale in color and soon fall off. If you do not start treating the plant on time, then saving it later is almost impossible. There are many more important mistake The gardener considers poor foliage irrigation on dry days. If the earthen lump dries out, then the money tree does not have enough water, it begins to accumulate it, accordingly full tree it is difficult to do, and it liberates itself. And liberation means only one thing - the rapid shedding of leaves.

Also, leaves fall due to poor lighting, so choose the right location for the money tree. Do not forget that the plant should be watered with warm, settled water, otherwise the plant will begin to lose its foliage. It turns red when the plant is exposed to direct sunlight.

Minimal lighting causes the shoots of the plant to stretch out and lose its decorative effect. As a result, the foliage falls off. You can save your plant, the main thing is to start treating it in time. First of all, you should adjust the lighting and watering. In order for the foliage not to fall, but to look lush and beautiful, you need to rotate the money tree around its axis from time to time, so that all parts of the plant will receive a sufficient amount of light and heat.

Why do spots appear on the leaves?

Often many gardeners do not have enough experience, and they do not understand why the leaves become brown tint or even turn black. Often the cause of this phenomenon is an infection. All damaged leaves are removed, and the plant is sprayed with agents that destroy pathogenic microflora. Dry, round black spots appear on the foliage due to sunburn. But don’t worry too much, since the situation can be corrected; all you need to do is cover the money tree from the sun. Although after a while the leaves with these burns still fall off, this stimulates additional growth points of the plant, and it becomes much more luxuriant.

The occurrence of a fungal infection can be prevented by frequent ventilation of the room and mulching the soil in the pot.

Why do money tree leaves turn red?

The reason is clear - sunlight has a negative effect on the flower. All money trees are of tropical origin, but they still do not tolerate contact with direct sunlight. A red tint on the leaves may appear due to the fact that you moved the flower from one place to another. In this case, you need to water the soil with a solution of Epin diluted in one glass of water.

The most dangerous enemies of the money tree are mealybugs, spider mites and scale insects. Let's look at them Negative influence in turn:

1. Shield. Yellow or brown spots. Pests are removed manual method and then treat the money tree with a soap solution. If there are a lot of pests, then the plant is sprayed with “Fitoverm” or “Fufanon”.

2. Spider mite. The leaves are connected by a thin web, and small yellow spots. First of all, the above-ground part of the plant is showered; if necessary, the plant is sprayed chemicals.

3. Mealybug. A white cotton-like coating appears on the leaves. The pests are collected with your own hands, after which the money tree is treated with a solution of laundry soap.

What to do if the money tree has grown?

Due to its great heaviness, the leaves of the plant often begin to fall off. There is also the problem of one-sided growth (occurs due to one-sided lighting). The problem can be solved by changing the plant's pot, and it should be wide, made of ceramic or clay. It is important to replant on time; this is often done in the spring. The plant is moved along with the soil. The soil must be neutral. In some homes, with proper and regular care, the money tree grows. Signs associated with this plant claim that the more leaves on a flower, the more material resources you will have.

How to help the money tree regain its blooming appearance?

In summer, the plant is watered every day with small portions of settled water. In winter and autumn, it is enough to water the tree once a week. It is necessary to ensure that moisture does not collect in the tray, otherwise the root system will begin to deteriorate and the leaves will begin to fall off. At proper care, the plant will delight you long years. Now you know why the leaves of the money tree fall and how to help it.

Crassula, money tree, crassula, butterwort are a favorite of many beginning and experienced gardeners. The plant is valued for its exotic appearance and unpretentious character, and is considered a talisman of financial well-being and prosperity. But what to do when the leaves fall off? How to treat the disease? In this case, you need to immediately begin resuscitation measures.

Sometimes the leaves of a healthy fat plant begin to fall off. If there are not many fallen ones, then that's quite natural process crown updates, replacing old leaves with new ones. U healthy plants this process proceeds unnoticed and does not cause any trouble to the grower. New elastic shoots simply emerge from the leaf axils, old leaves fall off, making way for young leaves and branches. Those that have fallen to the ground begin to grow and give rise to new small plants. This is what happens vegetative propagation Crassulas.

Most often, money tree leaves fall off in autumn and winter, when daylight hours decrease and the tree receives less light. The reason in spring days is the renewal of the crown and the growth of new shoots. In summer, the plant sheds its leaves due to hot, dry air and scorching the best sun. There are other causes of shedding, for example, an invasion of pests, fungi, sunburn or excess moisture.

Crassula withers

Crassula diseases: symptoms, causes, treatment

The fat woman has a strong immune system, but in unfavorable conditions begins to wither and drop leaves. Characteristics of the main diseases of Crassula are presented in the following table.

Causes of diseases Symptoms of diseases
Violation of the watering regime
  • the leaves became soft/withered, turned yellow and began to fall off;
  • the trunk and roots of the plant are rotten;
  • Crassula has dropped healthy leaves
Violation of the light regime
  • the leaves lost their elasticity, turned red and began to crumble;
  • round black spots appeared;
  • the flower has stretched out and lost its former attractiveness
Fungi and pests
  • the plant is covered with brown spots of irregular shape;
  • convex brown or yellowish growths, similar to dill seeds, appeared on the leaves;
  • yellowish spots, cobwebs have appeared between the leaves;
  • cotton-like growths appeared on the plant

If you have at least one of the listed symptoms the tree needs to be saved. Timely measures will help to revive the fat plant, prevent the death of the plant and restore its former beauty.

The leaves became soft and yellowed. The money tree is shedding its leaves.

Crassula came to us from the desert regions of Africa, so it does not tolerate frequent and abundant watering. If you overwater the plant, it will turn yellow and shed some of its leaves. To save this African beauty from death, you need to thoroughly dry the soil ball in a pot and reconsider its watering regime.

In summer, the fat plant should be watered no more than 1-2 times a week, and in winter - no more than 1-2 times a month. You need to water the plant only after the soil in the pot has completely dried, otherwise the flower will turn yellow and begin to shed its leaves.

The trunk and roots of the plant are rotten. What to do?

If you regularly flood the money tree with water, then very soon its trunk and roots will begin to rot and the leaves will fall off. Sick the plant urgently needs to be transplanted into a pot with dry soil, critically examining the roots and cutting off the rotten ends to healthy areas. The cut areas should be powdered wood ash, and then plant the plant in a new substrate. A rotten trunk, unfortunately, is almost impossible to restore.

The leaves dried out and began to fall off

The reason may be infrequent watering in hot weather, proximity to heating devices(batteries, heaters) and exposure to direct sunlight. To help the fat woman in the warm season take her out to Fresh air : in the garden, in the yard or on the balcony. Choose not too much for your pet sunny place, where she will feel comfortable.

Crassula withers

Crassula has dropped healthy leaves

The heat-loving fat plant does not like to be watered with cold water or kept in a draft, and tries to attract the owner’s attention to this problem by dropping healthy, juicy leaves. To preserve the surviving part of the crown, you need to find a quiet and peaceful place for the tree, away from drafts, and water it with water at room temperature.

The leaves lost their elasticity, turned red and began to fall off

Despite its African origin, the Crassula does not tolerate scorching sun rays, from which it turns red and sheds its leaves. Most often this happens after moving the flower from a shaded corner to a sunny windowsill. To save the money tree, you need to shade the window glass with a curtain, film or newspaper, and sunburned Feed reddened leaves with complex fertilizer or spray with a biostimulant. To do this, you can use the universal fertilizer “Epin” to restore plants.

When treating the money tree with Epin fertilizer, strictly follow the instructions. This drug is very active, and it must be added literally drop by drop, dissolving them in a glass of water

Round black spots appeared on the leaves

If direct sunlight can turn the leaves of the crassula red, then prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can lead to serious damage to the plate and the appearance of unsightly black spots on the leaves. To save home flower, you need to move it away from the window, or shade the window glass. Shading the plant will help solve the problem, but the affected leaves cannot be saved and over time they will fall off.

Crassula leaf burn

In winter, the flower stretched out and lost its former attractiveness

If the butterwort does not have enough light, it begins to stretch upward, its internodes become elongated, the stem becomes thinner and the plant loses its attractiveness. The problem is aggravated by excessive watering in winter time. To save a flower, you need to move it to another place, closer to the source of daylight.

The green plant was covered with brown spots of irregular shape. How to save?

It happens that brown spots appear on the money tree, which gradually cover the entire plant. Ultimately the flower dies. Why is this happening? The cause is gray or wet rot Biotytis cinema. To stop the spread of rot, you should increase the ventilation of the room and reduce watering. Areas affected by rot must be cut off, and thoroughly disinfect the cut areas. If the disease has gone too far, all that remains is to re-root the plant or take cuttings from it.

The fungus is actively developing in wet areas and does not like dry air. To prevent its occurrence, you should ventilate the rooms more often and mulch the soil surface.

Convex brown or yellowish growths, similar to dill seeds, appeared on the leaves

Sometimes the green leaves begin to turn yellow - such growths are left by the scale insect - a hemipteran insect of the scale insect family, which attacks the money tree with great pleasure. Dealing with this scourge is not difficult:

  • take a soft brush, moisten it with alcohol or kerosene and remove stains;
  • Wipe the leaves of the plant with soapy foam and rinse them thoroughly with clean water;
  • treat the flower with insecticides such as Fufanon, Fitoverm, etc.

The scale insect cannot be recognized on early stage defeats. And only when brown plaques appear on the plant does infection of the flower become obvious

The leaves of the plant were covered with yellowish spots, a cobweb appeared

Cobwebs and yellowish spots on the leaves of the money tree are left by a tiny pest - spider mite. It is more difficult to combat this pest than the scale insect. The easiest way is to buy a complex preparation such as “Neorona”, “Rogora” or “Actellika” in the store and spray the plant according to the instructions. At an early stage, regular spraying with tobacco, soap or garlic solution will help.

Spider mites develop well in warm, dry rooms. To prevent its occurrence, you should regularly spray the money tree with fresh water from a spray bottle.

Cotton-like growths appeared on the plant

A white coating in the axils of the leaves, resembling cotton wool, indicates that it has settled on the plant. mealybug. The mealybug is a member of the hemiptera family, the superfamily of mealybugs. The pest feeds on the sap of young shoots. At the same time, plant growth slows down, leaves fall off, and shoots become deformed.

Mealybug attacked the fat woman
  • carefully examine the flower, remove the scale insects with a soft brush dipped in a concentrated soap solution, or wash them off warm water from the shower;
  • whip into foam laundry soap and treat the entire plant with this foam;
  • rinse the flower thoroughly with running water;
  • Spray the flower 3-4 times with infusion of tobacco, garlic, and a decoction of cyclamen tubers.

If the damage has become significant, after cleaning the plant from scale insects, spray it with Actellik.

Thus, Crassula is unpretentious plant , which, with proper care, will delight the owner for many years. To violation of lighting and watering regimes, the appearance of fungi and mold, the plant can respond by the appearance of spots on the leaves and their shedding, rotting of the trunk and roots. Most Crassula diseases are treatable.
